Logsdon Seizoen

Logsdon Seizoen

Our organic farmhouse ale is brewed in small batches on a traditional farm brewery as it has historically been made for hundreds of years. This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with its beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains, producing complex fruity and spicy flavors balanced with hops and a soft malt character.

3.5 Bottle shared at beeroda tastong session. Hazy yellow colour small head. Nose is stronh pheols, light fruityness. Some burnt sugary, caramelly notes. The caramel thing surprised me in a saison..
4.1 Bottle from Beer Gonzo, shop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Sunday 15th October 2017 whilst making Chicken and Chorizo Lasagne and Medjool Date Ice Cream. Pours hazy yolky gold with a white head. A jolly good saison, with a good interplay between farmy tang, yeast, malt and a nice sweetness. Lovely beer, my reviews would have been far better than this were it not for the fact that I wad rolling lasagne pasta sheets. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov17 4.1

3.4 Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Tom L. Cloudy blond with a white film. Fruity, some citrus, some pineapple juice in the nose, sweet and spicy, a little herbal, a little bretty taste. Juicy, full body, fruity finish.
3.8 Classic, clean saison with a good amount of bitterness at the end. Very "trad" yeast character -- bone dry, effervescent, and faintly spicy.
3.8 Smells like straw and peanuts in the shell. Taste is similar - dry, funky, grass/straw, and a little bit of that peanut flavor. Very good.
4.0 Bottle from Hanshin Seed bomber then shared with buddies at Takatsuki Jazz Street. Cloudy light gold with a thick white head. The aroma is fruity and wheaty. The beer has a medium body and a great fruity wheat candyish flavor. Yum.

3.5 Draft 0.25l at BeerTemple Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 22.03.2017. Taste with kermis. Pour it brown color with small white head. Aroma sourish, strawberry yogurt feel. 3.8 This brew is a cloudy orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of stone fruit, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of peppery yeast, fruit, bready malt and a bit of hops. The finish is dry with a fruity yeast and grassy hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

3.9 Aroma is mostly yeast. Flavor’s and palate work together synergistically in a relatively traditional way. Plenty of yeast, little fruit or funk, great carbonation. Nice finish.
3.8 Some pepper and some light farm aroma. Some light citrus. Comes together well drinkable. Hazy orange pour with decent head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Tap at Snally.
3.7 Draft at Snallygaster 2016. Poured a cloudy orange color with a fluffy white head. Aroma was light funk notes, barnyard. Flavor had some light and mild sweetness to it. Tasty light funk.
3.4 750mL bottle. Honey-gold pour, lively carbonation, rocky froth of a head with decent retention. Nose is fruit, grass, mild funk. Mouth is sharp from the carbonation, relatively sweet for the style (i.e. sweeter than I’d like in a saison), apple, pear, grass, honey, lemon peel, faint yeasty spice. Overall tasty but not exactly a classic interpretation of the style in my opinion. I’m curious what the Brett version is like.
3.7 Snallygaster. Hazy apple juice body with small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, cherry, some lemon, funk. Taste is moderately sweet, lemon, some barnyard/funk, bread, light cherry. Light-medium body, some stickiness, light acidity.

3.7 Bottle. Clear orange pour with a thin white head and visible carbonation. Notes of farmhouse yeast, honey, minerals, bananas, peaches, apricots. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, fizzy from the carbonation and with a bitter-sweet finish.
