Logsdon Seizoen Bretta

Logsdon Seizoen Bretta

Our organic farmhouse ale is brewed in small batches on a traditional farm brewery as it has historically been made for hundreds of years. This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with its beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains producing fruity and spicy flavors that are balanced by hops and a soft malt character. Special Brettanomyces yeast provides added dryness and crisp complexity. For the most satisfying results, store upright in a cold, dark place and enjoy in a proper glass.

4.0 Bottle, bought about 2 years ago at Beers'n'more. Pours hazy yellow. Aroma is horse blanket, dung, farmhouse, citric. Body is medium, softly sweet and bitter, with a strong carbonation, light sourness. Orange flavour, lemongrass. Lots of yeast. Fruity palate. Delicious and rich!
4.0 Bottle 221217. Golden-orange color with an off-white head. Aroma is yeast, brett, malt, oranges. Flavor is lemon, caramel, spices, herbs, yeast, brett, malt, oranges. Easy drinkable very nice beer.
3.0 Draft at The Alehouse, Zurich. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of fruits, lemon, citrus, funk. Taste follows nose with some floral notes. Okay.
4.3 Clear golden pour with a huge white head. The nose is great. Fruity/spicy with some cologne and rough hewn cedar notes. Fruit and a bit of butter orange. Has a kind of heady fruitiness that is hard to describe. Bright but with an undercurrent of funk that is really interesting. Chewy but not sweet. Damn - this is a pretty intriguing glass.
4.6 none
3.4 I hate that I am forced to write a comment, when all I want to do is rate the beer for my own reference. What happened to not having to integrate with ratebeer.com?
3.9 Light amber with medium white head. Slight yeastyeast aroma with some sour fruity notes. Medium strong fruity notes followed by mild bitterness, yeasty notes.
3.9 Bottle at T&M's. Pours a hazy golden with a tiny white head. Sweet and dry with aromas of pale malts and brettanomyses. Also notes of hay. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish with more bretts.
3.7 Small glass from a big bottle courtesy of True Bearing Alehouse. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of brett with fruit and spice. No sourness. Bitter finish.
3.2 Pours a lovely amber, leaning toward copper, thick head. Smells slightly barnyard funk with a very nice yeastiness. Flavor is insipid, straightforward offputting soapy bitterness does not belong, towards the finish there's a hint of the spiciness that the aroma leaned toward. Good beer to look at and smell, then suffer through or dump I guess, could've been a lot better, going to check the bottle to see how old.
3.7 375 ml bottle. #13030. BB 11/2019. From firmabier.com. Cloudy bright golden color with a huge white foamy head. Earth, basement, mild caramel, yeast, green apple and some spicy notes in the aroma. The flavor is yeast, alcohol, spices, mild brett, some sweetness, mild bitterness and faint notes of green apples. I just booked the accommodation for next May in Hood River, OR.
4.3 Rating #5209, bottle from Douglas88. Active bottle, a little but of foaming, caught most in a tulip. Light Holden and hazy, huge head, subsides to one finger. Brett dominates the aroma, light, lemony, bread. Taste is also light, citrus, effervescent, grassy, floral. Nice flavors throughout. Mild tartness, but doesn’t interfere with the pure Saison notes. Thanks, Doug!
3.6 375 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, many thanks. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma of spices, some oranges, some brett. Medium to full body with a soft carbonation, a medium sweetness and a light bitterness. The flavor is lightly malty, biscuit, honey, orange, spices, tart fruits, very light brett notes. Aroma:8 Appearance: 3 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall: 14
3.6 0,375l bottle at home at home shared with Powy. BB 11/2017. yellow hazy color, small white head. smells dusty, caramel, bit parfumy, light joghurt. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of caramel, spices, bit citric, ripe fruits, some brett, tobacco, bit grassy, hints of joghurt. finishes lightly sweet with notes of brett, ripe fruits and tobacco notes. decent one overall, good complexity but a bit on the sweet side, not totally convincing taste wise, but overall quite enjoyable if a bit heavy.
2.9 Bottle from Uiltje beershop a while ago, No 88841 BB 07/2020, 33 cl sample (all I could rescue out of a big gushing 75 cl bottle). Hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is fruity of peach and apricot, some funky bubblegum and horseblanket, slight barnyard grain. Funky and quite peppery spicy, bit bubblegum sweetness, malty body. Considering the price and the fact half the bottle was spilled, major minus points.
4.1 Golden in appearance with a white head. Wheat, bubble gum, candy- like, slightly tart.
4.0 Slightly fruity, dry, a whole lot of horsey funk. The funk is the main flavor here, but there’s enough fruit and spice to keep it interesting. Excellent.
3.6 Soft tart flavor. Pineapple? Citrus? I cannot place it, makes it very interesting to drink.
3.7 On tap at naparBCN. Orange colour with white head, Fruity, orange and barnyard aroma. Sweet, fruity, orange, yeast, malt, slightly acidic taste. Medium body.
3.8 A lightly hazed golden saison with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light Brett, fruity esters, light funk, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light Brett, Orval beauty, light mineral notes, light citrus, nice and smooth. Bottle was more than 5 years old. Tasted at Chuck and April’s Cellar Tasting.
3.7 Bottle, 1 pint, 9.4 fl. oz. Home. A yellow-brown beer with a big white foamy head ; medium retention. Cereal, citrus, cider, yoghurt, barnyard, light biscuit. Light to medium sweet and sour, light dry bitter refreshing. Medium body, light to medium oily texture, average to soft carbonation, dry acid lasting refreshing. Overall, great ! 14 = 16-2 ; what a pity, huge gushing.... 20-25cL on my tablecloth. And this beer was quite expensive. Happy with the quality, but I didn’t enjoy the quantity :)
3.2 Big yeasty farmhouse smells with some lacquer. Pours a hazy bright gold with a massive rocky white head that lasts. Funky barnyard flavors with lots of sour bite. Well made but not my favorite.
3.6 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Żółte owoce, masa przypraw i Brettów. Szkoda że brakuje przełamania w postaci kwaśności.
4.2 Draft. Clear gold with a minimal white head. Lemon, funk, straw, tart plum. Some kind of juicy fruit. Pretty damn delicious.
4.1 Hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Brett, earth, citrus, hay, toast, tart finish.
3.9 Bottle from Beergium. Aroma is peppery yeast, bready malt, bretty funk, plenty of tart ripe fruits, citrus, touch of apricot. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and lightly bitter. Body is medium. Nicely bretty, sweet fruity Saison, well-rounded with a good body.
3.8 Bottle from City Beer SF. Hazy orange color, white head. Bitter/sour taste with citrus, hops, ripe fruits, spices, earthy notes and grass. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, earthy notes, spices, yeast and grass. Excellent saison.
3.9 September 24, 2015 - at Craft (Covent Garden) - keg draught. Hazy gold with a fluffy white lasting head. Sweet, floral, spicy aroma - really pleasant; but in the taste just tons of lemon and green brett funk. Airy, decent body, astringent and tart - just really really good.
3.3 8 oz from tap at Volo. Paleish translucent yellow with big white fluffy head that eventually drops to a film. Nose pretty delicate sugary fruity sweet with bubblegum hints. Rather faint. More bretty dustiness and animal funkiness as it warms, even medicinal notes at points. Tastes mellow sweet but continues with a bunch of strange kind of bitterness I’m no fan of. Very dry finish. Carbonation modest to moderately active. Not too refreshing I’d say. Dunno about this, I guess I just don’t like my Saisons this dry without any refreshing or fruity characteristics. Can’t imagine having this after a hard day’s work in summer.
4.3 Clear gold and long lasting white head. Smells very funky and earthy. Incredibly bretty, very dry, huge flavour with a light body, a bit minty. Really hits the mark, I had to order a second one to make sure it was really this good. Impressive beer.
