Logsdon Straffe Drieling Tripel

Logsdon Straffe Drieling Tripel

The triple, or ’tripel’ style ale is probably the one style most commonly brewed by breweries is all of Flanders. Pure pilsner malt with a touch of oats provides a slightly sweet malty profile balanced by a judicious amount of whole cone noble Hallertau hops. Our triple is characterized by complex yet mildly spicy character from the compliment of traditional spices.

3.4 Big gusher, lost half my beer. The rest was very tasty despite big farm taste and smell. Smooth drinker. Bottle from CT.
3.1 Tap (Riga Craft Beer Festival 2016) Some fleshy fruity apricot and other fruits in teh aroma. There’s a bit of alcohol here too. Palate is thin, and almost a bit watery, which actually makes it quite light. Belgian yeast fingerprint directs the taste. Vaguely covers teh alcohol in the mouth. Boring and clean belgian tripel - it’s not estery enough for me. Drinkability is at least pretty good.
2.3 Draft taster at Churchkey. Cloudy yellow with small white head. A: herbal garden, a yeasty spicy mess. The taste is the same, with yet more herbs. Yuck. Not a fan.
3.6 Bottle:   Dark and dirty straw, hazy, large frothy white head, nice lacing.   Smells American, very bready, but also very musty and barnish.   Suppose that is where the farmhouse spot comes in.   Full bodied.   Sweet bready finish, musty, barnish, and VERY yeasty.   Decent American example, wished it were more floral tho.
3.5 4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of herb, spice, honey, citrus. Tastes of herb, citrus, light spice. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
4.3 This is quite tasty. I get a nice tingly spice aroma that come through my plugged up nose. Flavor is zesty, with just a hint of banana. Very tingly on the tongue. Almost too tingly, only real complaint. Been looking for a tripel like this for a while.
4.1 Tap at Brewdog Camden. Clear golden yellow colour with a white head. Some malts on palate. Semi sweet taste. Very balanced. Medium to full body. Very drinkable.
3.5 Draft. Large, pillowy off-white head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, Belgian yeast spicy, some orange, coriander, light honey, alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, some Belgian yeast spicy, coriander, light alcohol warming, honey. Medium body, some chalk, light effervescence.
3.6 On tap at RCBW 2016. Slightly hazy, pale yellow colour. Modest white head. Sourness, hints of white wine, acidity, notes of berries, sour beead in the aroma. Rustical earthiness at first. Sweetness and barley in the middle. Bitterness. Some kind of nuttiness and caramelly notes in the end. Rather medium bodied, interesting brew. Akcochol is also well covered.
3.5 Hazy straw/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of yeast, floral, some fruit, & spice; Flavor of sweet malt, yeast, floral hops, caramel, and fruit/citrus; Dry finish; Somewhat flat (old bottle?) - decent though.
3.6 Bright golden, opalescent with a large pillowy white head. Aromas of straw, barnyard, floral, spicey light peppery notes with fruity alcohol-aromatic esters develop. Effervescent, lightly slick, mediul-full bodied. Briskly sweet with a juicy acidity and a light bitter spice note hanging at the back of the palate. Lasting finish. Very enjoable.
2.7 Tap @RCBF 2016. Clear amber color. Tiny size, white head, stays. Fruity, sweet, sourish, apples and mango in aroma. Apples, sourish, yeasty, peach in taste. Sweet and peaches in aftertaste. Something eggy too. Dry mouthfeel. Crisp carbonation. Not pressing my buttons.
3.6 Decent but simple maltiness, some grapefruit, peach, bit earthy hops. Light sweetness with light tartness. Balanced well. Lovely
3.3 Tåkete gulbrun med høyt hvitt skum. Fruktig lukt, bær og belgisk gjær. Lett til middels fylde. Syrligbitter smak, epler, alkohol, gjær og korn. Oljete
3.6 Pours yellow, small head. Fruity, a bit malty aroma, taste- tart, sour... fuirty.. More sour beer than tripel. Decent tho.
3.2 Hazy orange with white head. Tangerine, vanilla and funk. Slick, malty and spicy finish. Good!
3.6 Kickback share. Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Aromas of Brett and that’s most of it. Some sweetness comes through in the taste. Better than expected.
3.4 Bottle no. 5630. Best by date of 09/2017. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a glossy burnt yellow to orange color with a thick foamy white rocky head almost tipping over the glass. Semi-thick glossy foamy lacing appears as the head dissipated. The smell started off with floral sweet to dead grassy malt and running into some light spice (coriander?, maybe) The flavor produces a flaked oaty/grainy sweetness over the grassy sweet malt. Coriander somewhat comes back underneath. Grassy malt-like aftertaste. Quick finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a semi-sticky sort of feel to it. Overall, tripel? Hmmmm...could lean closer to a saison actually, not sure if I would have again.
3.4 Gusher! Burnt yellow, plenty of white head. Orange zest, lemon peel, spices throughout. Aroma filled the room. Same issue as the other US triples- familiar artificial candy malt sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy App
3.4 Hazy dirty blonde colour. Aroma has a strong herbaceous accent, light sweet and slightly caramelly malts. The bitterness is barely enough.
3.5 Hazy pale yellow, lacy head. As it airs, clovy notes and flavors unwind. Zest nose with a mysterious rambling mix of grains and spices. Warming character of the aroma perhaps reveals some Grains of Paradise influence. It all melds together quite pleasantly. The body composition reflects the same mysterious mix of grain and spice notes as the aroma. Exceptionally smooth and lacy mouthfeel with lots of black pepper on the palate. A touch dry and tannic on the finish.
3.6 Poured a hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma was candy sugar, orange, brett, and belgian yeast. Flavor was sweet, very clean for a tripel, orange and banana, decent.
3.4 Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours almost clear golden. Nose is quite interesting, plenty of orange peel, citrus, some spices, bitterness, sweet apricot. Tastes floral maltiness, grapes, citrus peel, bitter, esters. First sip was a shock; after all its not bad but still decent at best. And horribly expensive here.
3.9 Bottle from ??? - Color: clear golden blond beer with no carbonation and light medium white foam. Smell: nice malt nose, floral and fruity, apricot notes. Belgian ester, belgian yeast. Very intensive nose. Taste: medium body with good caramel malt, fruity and floral. Caramel notes. Apricot notes, fruity and high ester yeast notes. Fruity, good attenuation. Aftertaste: sweet fruity taste as apricot. Very nice finish. Good beer. Good balance.
2.3 On tap at hopaholic. Clear yellow colour, small head. Nose is rotten czech beer. Taste is strong cliantro... Strange...
3.4 0.75l bottle #3470 shared at local tasting. This one is super orange murky in the glass. Having the last part of the bottle, but still.. A nice little quite hefty lacing white head is placed on the top. On the nose I get a fair amount of sharp green apples, white candied sugar, celery, clementine zest and yeast. In a strange way I like this somewhat untypical aroma. Quite high on the carbonation and a mild oily texture in the mouth. All the flavors are quite combined and melted together. Yeasty, more green apples. The bitterness from the zest combined with a mild but definitely present alcohol zing. Soft soapy tail. Not horrible, really round and integrated. Actually quite good. 30.03.2015
2.7 Draught at Brus. Hazy light yellow with a white head. Aroma medium malty (bread, caramel) and hoppy (flowery), light spicy. Flavor light sweet, medium bitter and spicy. Light to medium body. Missing Belgian yeast.
3.8 sample from bottle, hazy yellow colour with a white head. this is quite different compared to the belgian tripels. still a good amount of belgian yeast, but more fruity, ripe fruits, mango, slight peach, earthy, cloves, dates, and slight perfum notes. dry mouthfeel, yeast. enjoyable it it’s style
3.9 750ml bottle at Jamey’s. Pours a clody blonde with a white head. Aroma and taste are sweet, with some peache and apple notes. Sweet, slightly hoppy aftertaste. Very good.
3.3 Clear gold pour with white head. nose was hops, citrus, yeasty esters, lemon. Tasted hoppy, citric, with florals, a dry finish, and some spices.
