3.6Poured from can dated 5/14/17 hazy copper orange with a nice white head. Aromas of caramel malt floral notes and dank citrus. Taste is mildly sweet caramel as its not fresh citrus pith and a lingering piney bitterness.
3.8My favorite beer from Long Trail. This IPA does not hold back on hops but is balanced at the same time.
3.3Medium brown typical appearance, not much head/lacing. Strong pine aroma with a hint of citrus. Taste is oily hops, citrus.. simplistic, not bad. Fairly bitter. It’s a solid, but not great IPA.
3.0Thanks to Prakash. I’ve had this before - surprised I haven’t rated it yet. Fairly bitter big IPA. Aroma is nice but flavor lacks nuance. Steely grapefruit taste dominates.
2.9355ml bottle. A belgiany ipa, banana tropical, not hugely bitter, malty, not amazing.
3.4An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish
3.7Moderately hazed copper-golden color with a white head. Light to moderate citrus-orange aroma. Light piney hop character mostly citrusy; orange and some melon and a light bitter, citrus rind bite in the finish. Moderately sweet, moderate to heavy bodied.
Notes: On tap a Phillips Seafood, BDL (Mar ’17)
3.8This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a typically carbonated body semi-transparent yellow orange colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The weak aroma was hoppy and Irish Red malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of Irish red malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
2.6Aroma is hoppy. Taste is strongly piney hops. Overall a decent IPA but not great.
3.7Flaska. Mörkorange med ett smutsvitt skum. Dofter av malt, grapefrukt, karamell och gräs. Smakinslag av malt, grapefrukt, apelsin och kåda. Mjuk och något försiktig beska, mer åt det maltiga hållet. Medelstor kropp.
3.612 ounce bottle. Dark amber in color with hops, some fruity notes, and a bit malt forward.
3.712oz bottle pours with a near clear copper body that has thick gold edges and supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up lots of sweet smelling crystal malts, malts and a bit of dark fruity esters with just thin wisps of mineral, sort of earthy to spicy hops well off in the background. The taste however does deliver a tasty array of hoppiness. I get floral hops, a spicy mineral hop like sensation, full on bitter grassy hops and then a herbal earthy tea hoppiness. This doesn’t have the standard IPA hops and that’s great. Behind the hops are sweet dark crystal malt notes, thin sweet figs, some sweet malts and then a biscuit maltiness rounding things out. I like the taste with a bit of a different take on the hop bill but it still delivers tasty hoppiness.
3.8Bottle. Dark orange pour, frothy head, nice lacing. Herbal, resinous hops, breads malt. Nicely balanced. Crisp and moderate bitterness. Enjoyable. Surprisingly good from a brewer that does not typically evoke high expectations.
3.7At 2016 Dayton Octoberfest. Pours dark orange with a thin sticky head. Nose of citrus hops. With an immediate citrus pine tang.

3.3Pours a deep golden amber with a thin white head. Light carbonation with some lacing. Nice aroma of sweet grass, pine resin, and citrus peel. Medium, light syrupy texture. Fairly smooth with a blend of hops and malt that leaves just a slightly bitter aftertaste. Not my favorite but pretty enjoyable.
3.7Sample at beerfest. Great IPA. Great balance of malt and hops. Really enjoyed this beer. One of my favorites at the beerfest.
3.7On tap at Smokin With Chris. Nice colour and head. New Zealand-y hops. Over-ripe fruit, a sharpness that isn't booze. Unsweet fruit. Good.
3.6Bottle into a shaker showing well filtered dark orange peel with half a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows malt on the front end that warms up into light citrus and orange zest.
The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Flavors of the same light citrus and orange zest with a few notes of tropical mango and kiwi in between. Moderately intense on all the flavors with a moderately to large bitterness on the finish. The bitterness lasts a bit longer onto the linger. A slightly above average IPA.
3.5On tap at SLL tasting and 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy bright orange with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident. Citrus hops, resin, pine hops, fruity malts, grapefruit, and earthy notes. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
3.1At Boathouse near Camp Timber Tops. Pours cloudy, dark gold/amber. Not much of a nose at all. Some grapefruit, followed by bitterness that lingers.
3.5Bottle 355 ml
Aroma:resinous, slight raw notes, high pitch, touch of smooth alcohol, mild peppery feel a la rye. Nice smooth, rounded character. Sweet caramel at end
Look: poured with medium sized, bright white top. Bottom was clear, pale amber.
Body and Palate: medium fuller body, average carbonation, longer finish.
Taste: smooth, straight bitterness with solid malt support. Reminds me of early Dog Fish brews. Slight heat at finish with vinous notes.
3.3Bottle. Pleasant fruity aroma. Sweet resin taste with honey and raisin and a barely bitter finish. Boozy in the finish as well.
3.5Draft @ the Mews Tavern in Wakefield, RI. Medium hops, tangy sweet but not cloying. Solid but unremarkable.
3.6My Bottom Line:
Tropical fruit and lightly toasted sugars are met by resinous greenness in this pleasant IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A healthy head of foam sits atop the translucent amber.
-Carbonation is ample and soft enough to emulate bottle conditioning.
-Mouthfeel is relatively lean, which increases drinkability.
-Hop fruitiness is akin to peach and mango syrup.
-The resinous bitterness builds with every sip, creating plenty of coniferous allusions.
Bottle.
3.412 oz bottle @ home, a present from the wonderful Aaltje from De Bierkoning, thanks! Bottled 12/31/2015. Hazy orange/amber color. Off white head, stiff as whipped cream. Aroma’s of tropical fruit, passion fruit, some malty sweetness. Also some resin retronasal. Flavor is moderate to full bitter and moderate sweet. Medium bodied. Finish is long lasting bitter, but not too harsh. Next time I should try a fresh bottle.
4.3Medium gold. Strong fruit nose...mango/peach is most prominent, with hop nose underneath. Strong peach/mango, mixing with bittering hops. Black pepper appears towards the end, before trailing off with the fruit/hops mix. Creamy mouthfeel, works well with the peach. Very nice complexity!
3.7Draught at the brewer, 5/21/16.
Light amber-to-brass body shows a good clarity and an off-white head atop with moderate retention.
Peach, melon, ruby red grapefruit and mango in the nose seems to rather deftly combine aspects of both West Coast and New England styles. Lengthy finish replete with dry lemon and light honey from the malt. Clean. No alcohol.
Soft, malty-sweet texture nonetheless shows good attenuation and no flaw or alcohol. Modest bitterness never really intensifies or gets too piney, as melon, meyer lemon and light pineapple all keep things very bright, the honey-like malt notes helping to see to this as well. Very drinkable, with soft, engaging, low carbonation. Would definitely drink this again.
3.8Long Trail Limbo IPA is well-balanced but with some odd flavors. Amber pour with a nice head. Aroma is a bit funky, like overripe fruit notes. The initial taste is overripe fruit notes again with some pine on the backend. Limbo is well executed but the overripe fruit notes is just short of pleasant -- not real bad --- but just kind of odd.
3.3caramel, bread, resin, floral, citrus, amber, hazy, white foam, lacing.medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter,
4.1Smells of mad tropical fruits with citrus hops and a touch of malt coming through at the end. A slightly cloudy copper color with small white head that dissaloves quickly. The hops and malts seem to be battling each other in the beginning then the hop take over with beautiful tropical fruit flood the tougue. Nice bitter super dry hoppy finish. Medium body which happens to be super sticky with lovely carbonation. Best before date on bottle I’ve had this a bunch of times but the last time I had it I was going to rate it but it was skunked and know from the flavor. But this fresh one gave me new inspiration and this is what the beer should be. A great goto IPA. Nice work.
