2.9 Can at home bought from brewdog.com. pours clear is very similar to a West coast style it has a huge bitterness to the beer. Is rather herbal and cheesy.
3.4 Keg, Brewdog Edinburgh. Hazy orange, lacy head. Aroma of apricot marmalade, rubber. Booze heat, bitter, stone fruit taste. A bit one dimensional for me, but ok.
3.0 Keg at brewdog Edinburgh. Pours golden, nose is musty, herbal, taste is cheesy, herbal, pine.
3.5 On tap at BXL 2018. Pours golden yellow colour. Thin white head. Classical aroma of American IPA. Sweet fruits, apricots, slight notes of spices, very slight sourness in the aroma. Bitter beginning. Fruits and citrusses in the middle. Bitter and bit sweet, fruity finish. Taste reminds littlebit of West Coast IPA, but it is not really well balanced. Too much plain sweetness, which I particulary do not like.
3.6 16 oz. can from Root Cellar. Pours a cloudy orange-gold, a bit on the dark end of the spectrum, with a moderate off-white head that settles into a ring and island of film, leaving some trailing lace behind. Notes of tea, lemon, florals, pine, soap, hay, grass, and sweet and caramel malts. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and an initially sweet, then bitter mouthfeel that finishes and lingers bitter. Drinks smaller than it is and also seems a little old but it isn’t. I like their other hops better but this isn’t bad.
3.4 Keg at BD Cattle gate. It pours lightly hazy amber with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, persimmon, apricot, marmalade sandwiches, grassy and dank. The taste is dry, bitter, grainy, boozy orange, marmalade, apricot, persimmom, peach liqueur, Cointreau and alcohol with a raw finish. Medium to heavy body and moderate carbonation. Heavy and a bit raw. Ok.
4.0 (Bottle) Cloudy pale orange body with a medium off-white head. Hoppy and sweet malt aroma with orange, grapefruit, grass, papaya, pineapple. Full bodied. Flavor is bright and very fruity; grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon, floral notes; moderately sweet and strongly bitter; dry finish. Noticeable and warming alcohol. Big aroma and flavor.
4.1 Can. Hazy golden color with small off-white head. Mostly citrusy aroma. Hoppy bitter flavor with grapefruit notes. Mellow on the palate. Very good.
3.6 Can. Amber beer with a cream head. Floral aroma with grapefruit and light pine. Grapefruit andpine flavor with floral notes. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with floral notes.
3.9 Drank from the can, purchased at BXL. Smell is full, malty, tropical fruity hops, milder notes of pine. Taste is full, hoppy, juicy, yet not NE style. More like those 'old school' ( 5 years ago, lol) dipa's from the US. Very nice DIPA, in a style that has been pushed to the background by NE, but didn't loose any of its greatness.
3.8 Tap at BXL. Clear golden colour, small white head stays. Aroma is piney, sweet, caramelly, bit resinous. Taste is caramelly, hoppy, resinous. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice, but little bit too sweet caramelly, overally still very good
3.8 Strong bold fruity double, extra punch with 9.3%
4.5 Really nice aroma, fruity and hoppy... Enjoyed the palate — definitely an IPA but not in that wallpaper peeling way everyone seems to love... Great summer beer — astringent and cleansing!
3.9 Bada Bing Bada Bing Bang Boom💥 This is a 9.5 abv that taste and smells like an 11abv! Yowza! This is a depending on your mood beer, if you had a rough one, this is your baby! Hazy copper color, thin off-white head, and thick. Malty sweet IPA taste, with a 9.5 pungent aroma. This ain't no Consolation prize by any means.
4.0 Tasted from a pint can. It poured a hazy golden hue with a white head. Aroma of alcohol and malt, with a bit of citrus. This one doesn’t even attempt to hide it’s 9.5% ABV, a trait in a double IPA that I appreciate! Nice recommendation from the fine folks at Craft Beer Cellar!
3.7 On tap @ Founders Festival (Madrid). Hazy orange, white head. aroma: notes of peach and tropical fruits. Flavor with decent bitterness, resin hops. Good bitterness in the final.
3.5 On tap. @Founders Madrid Beer & Music Fest 03/06/2018 Color amarillo corona de espuma blanca, aromas herbales, sabor frutal, notas tropicales cuerpo denso.
3.8 Pours a two finger white head, that fades slowly leaving traces of lace. Hazy, light amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit nose and taste is grapefruit, hints of malty sweetness. Higher abv, 9.5%, is hidden. 16oz black can from Concord Coop Concord, NH.
3.5 Can, from Malt & Mold. Pours cloudy orange with large foamy off-white head, faint citrus aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter orange peel taste, smooth, somewhat thick body, long medium bitter finish. Well balanced, a good one.
3.5 16oz can from bananabi11, thanks! Pours a hazy orange copper with an off-white head leaving spotty lacing. Aroma has big juicy fruits, bubble gum, citrus fruits, and sweet malts. Very sweet. Taste is of sweet malts, sweet and tangy fruits, and bubble gum. Medium bodied, the blend is decent but no better and there is a touch of an alcohol presence. Finishes sweetly fruity, with bubble gum. Shrug? This one have had too long in the fridge but also is not hazy, and too sweet. 13.5
3.6 Tap at brewery. Pours hazy, bright gold. Aroma and flavor are citrus and tropical fruit, pale malt, light toast, moderate bitterness, and some dank. Medium body.
3.6 Draft at the brewery. Pours hazy orange gold with a bubbly off white head. Tastes like resin, booze, sweet citrus hops, and cookie malt. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like resin, orange, grapefruit hops, and booze.
3.7 Draft at Cinder. Murky golden orange pour. Soft soapy beige foam. Earthy tannic citrus hop resins. Bruised stone fruit. Orange peels. Suede. Kumquat. Peach Schnapps. Forest floor. Well done.
3.5 My second beer from this brewery, having been pleasantly surprised by the first one. Nice resiny hop nose, hints at orange peel and bready yeast. Some serious juiciness going on, mainly a mild grapefruit juice presence, thick body bordering on syrupy but not entirely crossing that line. Fairly strong bitterness. Alcohol presence is definitely there, but doesn't detract much. I'm enjoying the beer, and it's a great double IPA, but I'm also reminded why this is a style that should fade away - it's really just too much and I can't help but think how much more I'd enjoy this if it was dropped to 6.5% and featured a drier finish. Hazy golden.
3.8 16oz can. A little hazy with a golden orange color. Medium body with ample carbonation. Tropical, resinous, some citrus, light alcohol and a little sweetness. Not bad. Not as good as I remember from line share at Burley Oak a year ago, but still a solid big dipa.
3.0 Small sample On tap, hazy golden orange with small to medium head. No big juice hops in this but rather BIG Alcohol Booze. Other notes of pine, ash, light citrus and heavy heat. Rough one, hopefully brewers stop making excessively high alcohol doubles and triple ipas. It’s a waste of hops
3.8 16 ounce can. Hazy medium gold color. Frothy white head. Clinging lace. Subtle hop nose hints at grapefruit and pine. Bittersweet bready malt and citrus hop notes. Dank hops redolent of old citrus. Biitter lemon and mint notes. Bold and brash, with grassy hop undertones. Quite tasty.
4.0 Appearance: Medium amber. Hazy. Thin ring of small white bubbles. Nose: resinous with citrus and tropical fruit hops. Sweet and a little resinous Taste: Sweet and a little syrupy. Boozy big fruit hops. A little bitter throughout Body: Medium and a little viscous. Active carbonation. Parting thoughts: A fantastic IIPA by my estimation. Hops and malts blend well. I approve of the flavor profile. Yay.
3.3 At MIA Brewery on the guest tap list. Pours a golden color with a small head. Nose is alcohol, citrus with pine and resin. Taste is hard alcohol and hard pine and resin. Finishes on the hard piney hoppy notes. Quaff Score 6 / 10
