3.8Courtesy of @SimonBlok. Split between @SimonBlok and @GymHallManti. Aroma: Prickely Appearance: Dr Pepper coloured. Norrit opacity. Taste: Zoethout/Dry/Toffee. Palate: THICK and Sticky. Food pairing: Mosterdsoep, Dessert --> Lava cake? Blue Cheese. Very complex
4.137,5cl bottle at home split with Gyhallmanti and A3aan_uit, bought at de Caigny. Appearance: jetblack with minimal beige head. Aroma: bourbon, roasted malts, coffee, toffee, some licorice and caramel. Taste: high sweetness and above medium bitterness. Notes of roasted malts, coffee, bourbon, english licorice, molasse. Palate: medium to full bodied, sticky texture and soft carbonation. Complex stuff.
4.137,5cl bottle split with SimonBlok and a3aan_uit. Pours a jet black colour with a beige rim creeping up the glass. Aroma of gula Jawa, chocolate, roasted malt, alcohol, Laos, slight ginger, caramalt, ground coffee beans. Taste is medium to high sweet, medium bitter with a medium dry finish. Notes of roasted malt, dark malt, caramel, gula jawa, toffee, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, alcohol burn. Texture is oily, full bodied with soft carbonation.
3.72013 vintage. Dark black soy sauce color, no head. Oat stout aroma, candied sugar, bourbon, vanilla aroma. Creamy, strong alcohol kick (12.5%), roasted malt, bourbon notes. Obviously a sipper, but it's a bit brutal. It's like sipping hard alcohol at times. Tastes nice, just a bit much for me.
Barleywine? Même pas en le cherchant. Le fut de brandy non plus. Mais c’est bon. Très bon même. Et réconfortant. Et c’est tout ce qui compte.
4.20,375l bottle from Beergium. Very dark brown beer with small brown head. Intensive aroma has roasted malts and much of bourbon, wood, vanilla and some chocolate. Taste has dark malts, dark fruits (plums, raisins), bourbon, vanilla and chocolate. Nice one.
3.8Bardzo złożony, intensywny aromat beczki i kandyzowanych owoców, w smaku likierowo, trochę orzechowo, alkohol wyraźnie rozgrzewa przełyk. Do bardzo wolnego sączenia.
2.5Shared 12.7 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma of booze. Taste is booze, oak, maybe faint notes of roasted malt. This doesn't even seem like beer to me. Just booze. Really not my thing anymore...
3.7Aroma: sweet, malty and boozy; Appearance: pitch black with tan head; Taste: follows nose with good, bitter bite; roasty with dried fruit; Palate; heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall: good, but best in small quantities.
Godne polecenia.
4.6Bottle. Moderate roasted, cookie and nutty for the malt, light resin for the hops, light dough and leather for the yeast, with notes of toffee and vanilla. There was no head on the pour and the color is very dark brown. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is full, creamy, with an almost flat carbonation and a lightly alcoholic and sticky finish. Wow! This is a top notch American Strong Ale. Pretty much what you'd expect from Lost Abbey.
4.7Bottle. Black color, light coffee. Aroma: bourbon, brandy, esters, dried fruits, barrel, figs, prunes, hard, cedar, resinous, perfume. Taste is strong, but soft, bourbon and brandy, very warming, chocolate, coffee and cream, dried fruits, mighty, excellent.
3.9Dark brown color, small brown head. Some sediments. Aromas of bourbon, cognac, sugar, dried figs, raisins, caramel, dates and slight chocolate. Sweet and peppery taste with bourbon, alcohol, raisins, cacao, dried figs, wood, cognac and vinous hints. Peppery and alcoholic finish. A bit too much on the boozy side.
4.0Barwa czarna, z brunatnymi prześwitami.
Aromat intensywny słodowy, suszone owoce w cukrze, melasa, cukier trzcinowy i bardzo wyraźny charakter beczki: wanilia, kokos. In minus wyraźny alkohol.
W smaku pełne, początkowo słodkie, jednak wytrawność wzrasta wraz z przełykaniem. Susz owocowy, nuty porto, niuanse palone, finisz alkoholowy, gryzący gardło, z mniej wyczuwalnym wpływem beczek. Goryczka średnio niska, popiołowo-alkoholowa.
4.2From bottle in Belgian ale glass. Pours dark brown, almost black, with thin tan head. Molasses and licorice permeate aroma and taste, the brandy and bourbon barrel aging work well together. The I-stout & barleywine combo make it the ultimate black & tan. You play a mean banjo!
4.40,375l bottle at home. No obvious BB date. black color, small dark coffee colored head. smells of wood, bourbon, whisky, licorice, nutty, some dried fruits, marzipan. very nice smell. full body, rather light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of wood, bourbon, dried fruits, marzipan, nutty, licorice, cocoa, light oxidation, peppery. finishes lightly roasty with notes of bourbon, marzipan and some licorice. very very nice one, very rich and with a great complexity. great stuff.

3.7November 2017 - Cork and cage 12 fl oz bottle at home in Richmond as 'Lost Abbey Deliverance', 12.5%, undated - picked up in 2014 for something like £18. Pours a thick-looking black, opaque and forming a minimal light brown head. Aroma is initially a bit meaty but settles on vanilla bourbon, custard, oak and digestive biscuit. Body is rounded, oily, tingly carbonation. Lots of body. Taste is huge bourbon, pretty 'salty' with warming booze, 'meaty' sugars, underneath the heat and barrel you can pick out some cocoa and coffee bean notes but this really is a hefty barrel bomb. A slow sipper and hard hitter. Huge but not that refined. (8-4-6-4-15=3.7)
4.2375ml corked bottle from hopburnsblack.co.uk. Love the labels on these Lost Abbey beers. Black colour with small tan head. Big dark roasted malts, dark fruits, burnt toffee, big bourbon barrel, some brandy barrel, liquorice, light cocoa powder, oak, lightly smoky, light espresso, burnt caramel, soy sauce. Thick boozy body, very low carbonation. Really great beer.
4.237,5cl Bottle @ Cervezalandia, Vall d’Uixo, Spain.
Dark brown colour with a thin tan head.
Aroma is roasted malt, sweet, bourbon, toffee, oak.
Taste is roasted malt, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, licorice, oak.
Medium to full body, average carbonation.
4.3375 mL bottle shared by Gus with ebone1988 and myself. The pour is a darker brown with a ruby undertone and a light tan ring of head with a couple spots of lace. The aroma is really good. Sweet and caramely with a soft dark roasted malt and light licorice. There is a good fruitiness and a heavy bit of booze with a light oak backing it all up. The flavor is much of the same. It's a little sharper with a brandy and bourbon addition. Balanced with a boozy finish. This is pretty solid. The mouth feel is medium bodied with a light carbonation and a lingering brandy and oak finish. Pretty good. 8 4 9 5 17
3.7Bottle shared with koleminer20 and Gus. Aroma is caramel, booze, brandy, toffee, wood, butterscotch. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head, opaque. Taste is sweet, booze, wood, caramel, some hops, not great. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, boozy old caramel wood aftertaste. Overall, it's ok.
4.2Sweet chocolate, cacao, oak, wood, bourbon. Clear, dark gold, no head. Medium sweet. More dark, sweet malts, chocolate, cacao, soft carbonation, full bodied. Beautiful Impy, rich and well-balanced. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, Canada Water.
4.5My god this is great. In angel's share the booziness is too vulgar and tiring. In this beer it adds a class to serpent's stout base. Pralines, vanilla, oak and long aftertaste. Great beer, one of the best LA beers next to the track 10.
4.3Mørk mørk brun med lavt beige skum. Lukter kaffemokka, mye sjokolade, trevirke, vanilje og karamell. Fyldig. Smaker kraftig sjokolade, kaffe, mørke frukter, søtlig karamell og vanilje. En del alkohol i avslutningen. (Beavex17)
4.3Ok, enough of the details. It's a huge smokey boozy monster. Unctuous and lovely. I want to marry this beer.
4.3Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours very dark, not much head. Nose is massively intense, boozy with brandy and bourbon, very sweet, chocolate, roast. Taste remains intense - and boozy. Sweet yet not overly so, roast, vanilla, bourbon, ash, liquorice. Aye, it is excellent.
5.0Tasted at Beavertown extravaganza.Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, wood, lots of bourbon, licorice, lots of vanilla notes. Taste is heavy sweet with long duration. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, finish is vanilla, sweet, caramel, no boozy.excelent
