Lost Abbey Framboise de Amorosa

Lost Abbey Framboise de Amorosa

Raspberry sour ale aged in French oak barrels.
The 10 Commandments and its “Thou Shalt Nots” do not apply to Amorosa. A courtesan, she has no need for the morality of denial. A stunning beauty with depth of spirit and sensuality. Amorosa is ruled by the fruits of her loins and mother earth. Sweet and sour, Amorosa is equal parts lover, liberated soul and the object of every suitor’s affection. She is desire incarnate and sensuality embodied. In choosing to open this bottle, you are now courting this magnificent woman. For some, she will arrive like the siren’s call breathing upon your lips and dancing across your taste buds. Others will be denied. For you see, a wonton woman, Amorosa beckons all and chooses few. Will your prayers be answered?

4.2 [Tasting - Beder] Aroma: Nice aroma of raspberries Appearance: Medium brown color and average sized fast disappearing head Taste: Moderate sweet and intense acidity with dominating sour raspberry Mouthfeel: Oily texture with moderate carbonation Overall: A lovely sour beer from The Lost Abbey ;)
4.0 Couleur brune rouge, bonne mousse marron. Super nez vineux, framboises fraiches. Gout fruité acidulé, fruits rouges, tarte, vineux, vinaigré, note chêne. Corps très pétillant. Fin aciduléé fruits rouges murs. Super nickel pour le style
4.0 (On tap - indicates it is ‘16 red wine barrel aged) Clear deep red, look like wine, with tiny pink head. Lovely aroma of raspberries with earthy and leather notes. Medium body with excellent fine carbonation. Great taste - with a lot going on. It’s sour, quite sour, but in a really good way - as long as you like sour. Next there’s raspberries - it’s heritage is clearly framboise, but so much more sophisticated than your normal framboise. Next there’s vinous notes. There’s some earthy, leathery notes too, and maybe yoghurt / lactose hints. Very enjoyable, but not an everyday session beer.
4.0 Hazy dark brown colour with an average head. Malty, plenty of raspberries, fruity sourness, funky, yoghurt, wood, lively carbonation.
4.2 375ml bottle from TW. Hazy reddish brown with a thin beige head. Sour cherries, raspberries, red wine barrels, balsamic, funky earth. Fizzy carb, full body. Lingering sour cherry, mild vinegar finish. Delicious.
4.1 On tap. Cherry flavor and sour note. I think this is one of the best sours I have had in recent years. But I had about five 4oz stouts and 3 more strong beers before tasting this one, so I was super drunk and weren't able to catch the notes. Will go back to dry them.
4.1 375ml corked bottle from beergonzo.co.uk. Cloudy reddish brown colour with off-white head. Big tart raspberry, big tart raspberry yoghurt, wood barrel, red wine vinegar, raspberry pits, lactic, red fruits, acidic, compote, light tart citrus, light funk. Love this, Lost Abbey is one of the most consistently great breweries out there.
4.0 Aroma: raspberry, apples and yeast. Taste: wine sour notes of grapes, citrus and yeast balanced buy sweet raspberry. Moderately sour overall.
W smaku dżem malinowy, posmaki winne, octowe, taninowe i drewniane. Dobre pifko.
4.2 Really old note, on draft at Hops and Pie in Denver, Aug '17: jammy, rich raspberry, farmhouse, leather, oak, tart berry, dry. great, 8.4
4.3 (12oz bottle) - Pours a large Rocky off-tan head. Body is a dull reddish brown with large bubbles inside the glass. Pronounced sourness from the bugs. Like drinking a sharp Kombucha mixed with cidar vinegar. I could drink this quite often if it weren't on the expensive side.
4.1 Pours a murky reddish brown from the bottle with bubbly tan head that dissipates quickly to leave light lace. Aroma of big acid, acetic and lactic, with tart raspberries and light musty oak. Taste is even more acetic acid and fruit, less lactic, light must, lingering tart fruit. Very nice, a tad pricey, but well done
4.0 Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy brownish red, very thin off-white head. Aroma: Pretty intense tart raspberries, Balsamico vinegar. Taste: Tart raspberries. Like a Sour Red with clearly present, yet very well balanced raspberry flavour. Notes of lactic acid, Balsamico vinegar, Brett funk. Hints of oak. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Over medium sour, light sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Just a little too much acidic vinegar in my opinion, but still a very good Sour beer.
5.0 Aroma of raspberries, sour cherries, loads of wood(red wine barrel).Taste of sour cherries, raspberry, faint srawberry yogurt ,balsamic vinegar, green apple, funk notes .Aftertaste is tart and dry with nicely accented sourness.
3.8 37,6cl bottle split with SimonBlok and a3aan_uit. Pours a hazy brown colour with no head. Aroma of raspberries, rhubarb, slight strawberries, slight oak, slight combination of artichokes and Brussell sprouts? . Taste is moderate sweet, soft bitter with a moderate dry and high acidic finish. Notes of charcoal, raspberries, brett, something savory, slight malty. Texture is oily, medium bodied with soft carbonation
4.0 37,6cl bottle at home, bought at Beerdome, split with Gyhallmanti and A3aan_uit. Appearance: hazy reddish brown with medium sized off-white head. Aroma: lots of raspberry, rhubarb, rosehips, wood, red fruits, brett. Taste: pretty high sweetness, low bitterness and high tartness. Notes of raspberries, rhubarb, brett, rosehips and some wood. Palate: medium bodied, slick texture and above medium carbonation. Overall: the aroma is fantastic. So fruity. Much more raspberry than other framboises in my opinion.
4.6 37.5cl bottle Courtesy of SimonBlok and Gyhallmanti. First thing you notice when you open this beer if the intense Framboise smell which immediately permiates once opened. Very jammy. The taste is immaculate. Heavy Brett, woody and tangyness of Rhubarb. Savoury and sour overtones. No noticeable carbonation. Very dry but not unpleasant. Purper colour. Would not match this beer with anything else.
4.4 Smagt fra flaske til større smagning. Ravfarvet med hvidt skum. Kompleks, funky og frugtig aroma, tydeligt fadpræg, hindbær, kirsebær, eg, diskret stald, fantastisk. Tør og syrlig i munden, bløde tanniner, medium krop, lang frugtig finish. Meget vellykket!
3.9 Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours clear deep red. Aroma is barnyard, deep raspberry, funk, dung. Body is medium and sour and tart, with lots of raspberry and also sweetness. Lively carbonation, yet not too much in the front. Does not hold back in all those characteristics and feels rather intense, without losing balance too much. Good, but could be gentler.
3.5 Tap at BeaverEx2018, London. Color is deep clear red with very small white head. Aromas and flavors: Berries, red berries, wood and some sourness.
4.0 Tap. Light hay for the malt, light citrus for the hops, light dried leaves for the yeast, with a nice dose of raspberry in the background. Head is average size, frothy, white, with a spot or two of lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear burgundy red. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic and sour, then finishes moderately acidic, sour and a touch bitter. Palate is light, watery, with a lively carbonation and an extremely tart finish. Great Sour Ale with the perfect amount of raspberry thrown in.
3.6 Hazy red with white head - Sour raspberry aroma with some wood and vinegar notes - Sour raspberry flavour with wood and vinegar flavour - Raspberry and vinegar goes into the finish - To much vinegar flavour, but this was still good, would be better with less vinegar flavour
3.8 750ml bottle @ Epic Lost Abbey tasting. Thanks Tide and Otso! Pours deep dark reddish brown with a smooth white head. Aroma of tart and sour raspberries, funky yeast, oak, wood, hints of vanilla and juicy berries. Taste is sour, funky and tartish with some raspberries, oak, wood, yeast, farmyard and hints of vinegar and dark berries. Finish is earthy, tart and funky with some sour berries, raspberry juice and vinegary notes, hints of oak and wood. Heavy and intense.
3.9 Aroma of raspberries, sour cherries, loads of wood, balsamic vinegar some slight stable notes. Taste is tart, with a bit of dried fruit vibe. Some raspberry sweetness, lots of tannins, sour cherries towards the end. Finish is tart and dry with nicely accented sourness. Body is medium, smooth with large, lively carbonation.
3.9 Reddish brown pour with a lively thin white head .... lots of erupting fizzyness ..... aroma is awesome and of tart and sour raspberries, some sugary sweetness and sour brett ..... taste is of tart raspberry, sweet and sour, dry oak, brett and some sugar ..... super dry and tart ..... finish is abrupt, dry as hell, oaky and has lots of lingering sour and tart raspberry .... medium bodied and super dry brew .... good stuff but the aroma is better than the taste
4.2 Barwa nieprzejrzyscie ciemno-bordowa z ladna pianka. W aromacie mega maliny, brettowosc, czerwone porzeczki i debowa beczka. W smaku maliny, czerwone porzeczki, troche kwaskowych wisni. Pozniej debina, troche wanilii i na finiszu bretty. Wysycenie idealne, a glebia jest tak niesamowicie potezna... Swietny Red Ale, klasa owocowosc. Chyba najwieksza mozliwa glebia owocow.
4.2 W aromacie maliny, mega dojrzałe, wanilia. W smaku półsłodkie, mocno kwaśne. Na finiszu cierpkie maliny, skórzane, bardzo złożone. Alkoholu brak, wysycenie średnie, pijalne, degustacyjne zarazem, ułożone, gładkie, pyszne
3.8 Ładna butelka. Piany mało. Malinowo - wiśniowe. Zero aromatów - czuć prawdziwe owoce. Czuć beczką. Lekko wytrawne, taniczne, cierpkie, kwaskowe. Dobry balans. Piwo wielowymiarowe. Warto spróbować.
