A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Bottle shared at Muted Horn, Berlin. Around 4 years old. Fairly hazy amber brown with no head. Aroma is big oxidized, caramel, toffee and overripe dark fruits. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.
3.6Bottle 750ml at home. Bottled 2012-09-01. From Bierkompass. Pours brown, beige head. Dried fruits, raisin, brown sugar, yeast, caramel. alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation.
4.1Smells like a brown ale, with raisins, and some cinnamon. Medium brown in color. Big hit of raisins, cinnamon, light coffee, some grapes and chocolate covered fruit. Don't really like raisins, but this rocks!
3.6(Bottle) clear, bright reddish amber with a small beige head; aroma of caramel, raisin; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
3.7On tap at Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL. served to a snifter displaying an amber highlighted brown tone, a finger's width of tan froth, with a band & spots of lacing. The nose was toasted and somewhat nutty, with dried fruit as dark cherry, currants, and figs. Medium bodied, with moderate carbonation, the taste was as the aroma, a bit less expressive, with slight tartness & tanginess, noticeable alcohol, and some earthy astringency. Nothing over the top, but a decent Belgian Ale to savor.
3.5Pours a brown color with a long-lasting off-white foam head. Aroma is raisin, caramel, , and Belgian yeast. Flavor is raisin and caramel. Well-carbonated, some bitterness. Pretty good, if a bit mellow.
3.4Bottle a copper colored beer with a white head aroma malts citrus fruits spicy and hops flavor malts citrus fruits dark fruits spicy and bitter hops in the aftertaste
3.4Hazy reddish color with beige head. Aroma is malty with some caramelized sugar and dried fruits. Taste is sugary, malty and yeasty with some dried dates flavor. Medium body, medium plus carbonation. A really decent dubbel but it's not really a style I enjoy especially.
4.0750 ml corked and crowned bottle. Hazy reddish brown color. Tight creamy beige head. Rich, toasted malt nose is fruity, with notes of dark dried fruits. Sweet, candi-like malty flavor. Raisins, figs, persimmons and spice. Malty and complex, with endearing Teutonic, monastic qualities.

3.619th December 2017. Ordered as part of a Flight in Crush & Brew, Temecula. Really pleased to see this, another beer I have wanted to try it for some time (it shared stage with Alesmith's Horny Devil, Port Brewing's Santa's Little Helper and a beer from Ritual called Hellion). Mahogany body, white topping. Malty and sweet brew, some raisins, figs and yeastiness in the aroma. Liked it.
3.7Bottle pour. Nice lacing. Brown sugar aroma. Red fruit flavors, especially grapes and cherries. Lively carbonation that settles nicely.
3.7750 mL bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a darker ruby brown with a thick cap of light tan head and a couple spots of lace that linger when it falls to a thick film and collar. The aroma is interesting. There is a good bit of dried and sugared grapes up front with a sweet maltiness. The Belgian yeast comes through on the back end a little more prominently. There is a bit of yeastiness and a light sweet malt. The light raisin comes through late and there’s a bit of a metallic zing to it that I’m not crazy about. The mouth feel is medium bodied and softly carbonated with a lingering raisin and dark fruit combined with a Belgian yeast and a sweet finish. Not bad. 7 4 7 4 15
3.7Bottle from Merchants. Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is dry, dusty, yeasty, dark fruit, some booze, different. Appearance is reddish brown, light brown head, nice head retention, unclear. Taste is dry, roasted malt, nutty, dark fruit, boozy, dusty, good. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, dry roasted malt boozy dark fruit aftertaste. Overall, it's a solid Dubbel.
3.6Draft at Barcade JC with Paul D. back in Oct 2015 (Mets in WS or NLCS). Looks dusty orange-brown. Malty aroma. Notes of dried fruit along with roasty pork fat (?). Dry with gritty quality to the mouthfeel.
3.7Bottle in Seattle. Modest, off-white head on a mostly clear yellow-amber brown. Dark caramel and raisins on nose, leading to a moderately sweet and lightly dark fruit-tart body. Descends to nice bitter dubbel profile malts. Fruit pits, bitter fruit skin. Finishes on a lighter note, dry and relatively crisp. Lacking some of the richness - and even some of the sweetness, if I’m honest - that I would expect in a dubbel. Solid.
3.4Bottle at Rickfifty's. Pours red to copper. Sugar, malt, caramel, malt. Bitter, some sweetness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Could be more interesting.
4.0From Dec 2007
This pours from caged and corked 750ml bottle a clear deep amber/brown with a thick off white head of foam with lots of sticky lacing.
The smell is very fruity...lots of lemon and other citrus smells hit my nose. I also get some caramel malt, yeast, and some spice.(clove)
The taste has caramel malt, yeast, chocolate, raisin, plum, toffee, fig..err...very complex. It also has a slight earthiness to it. The mouthfeel is medium and it's medium to lightly carbonated. It finishes witha mix of chocolate and yeasty tones. I like it. Oh, and there's a bit of clove that I'm picking up now along with a touch of banana. The alcohol is fairly noticeable as a slight warming during and after the swallow. It's a *nice* sipper and one that I wouldn't mind seeking out again.Good stuff!
Edit: With the last pour, the appearance immediately became cloudy due to the sediment and that always means, for me, a better score in appearance for the style. Also, all of the flavours seem to have intensified bringing much more goodness to my palate. Why is it that the bottom third of a bottle of a Belgian or Belgian style ale always is the best part of the bottle??? Anywho, I've adjusted my rating accordingly.
3.8750 mL bottle. Pours a lightly hazy amber with an off-white head. Raisiny earthy aroma with some yeastiness. Flavor is again raisin, earthy, nutty. Molasses and a touch of anise. Quite nice.
3.8On tap at the brewery. Dark rwddish brown. Nose is raisins, candied sugar, dried fruits. Tastes sugar sweet, dried fruits, ripe banana. Unfortunately not as good as nose, slightly one-dimensional.
3.6The aroma is Belgium - banana/bubblegum, some raisin. Pours a golden copper/brown with creamy light tan head mostly diminishing and very good lacing. The taste is light/medium bitter-sweet. The body is medium/light, the texture a little thin, the carbonation lively and the finish short.
3.7Bottle picked up in Chicago. Pours a dark bronze with a small, sticky head. Taste is caramel and dark fruit, dates and raisins. Love Belgium dubbels and this is a good one.
3.3Dark amber, almost bronze, hszy, small to medium creamy head. Dark fruit, caramel, some jam in the aroma. Light bodied despite 8 abv, refreshing. More fruit in the taste, bitter finish. Dubbels are just not my type.
3.1delicious offering found in whole foods in LA. fruity and tasty, it is well balanced.
4.3I located this 750 ml bottle on a Cubs and Sox trip to Chicago and brought it home for a leisurely sampling. Poured into my newish Trappists Rochefort glass it delivers a dark liquid with reddish highlights around the edges along with a long lasting off-white top. For the nose I find pleasant notes, yellow raisin, dough and spun sugar. Let’s have a drink now. Like wow, really fine. Not as sweet as the scent, it gives me apricot, malt, nectarine, a touch of toffee, baked bread. Halfway through there comes this hit of bitterness that sticks around. A great dubbel, I would love to locate again.
3.2From tap. Cloudy dark reddish copper with creamy tan head. Aroma is nuts, caramel, and coffee. Full creamy body. Light bitter with a salty finish.
3.4Aromat: lekki, niezbyt intensywny, gruszka, jabłka, trochę winogron i nut słodowych.
3.4Bottle. Pours dark amber/brown with small sticky yellow head. Aroma: sweetish, caramel, bread, raisins, butterscotch. Taste: sweet with some sbalancing sourish, caramel, bread, weak banana.Sweet finish.
