3.1 Bottle 35,5cl. @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, Spain. A: Reddish brown. T: Malt, raspberry, chocolate.
3.0 Bottle. Brown amber color, weak foam. Aroma: raspberry, malt and jam. Taste: slight sweetness, watery, candy, raspberry, a little caramel.
3.2 Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is raspberry tea. Taste is a muddled mix of beer and raspberry tea. Kinda messy.
3.0 Tap to glass @ Lost Coast tap room@ Eureka Appearance: Brown clear medium tan head goes away fast, lacing Aroma: strong raspberry aroma, fruity, sweet Taste: medium bitterness Palate: sour aftertaste Overall: fair, not to repeat Drank: April 11, 2016
3.2 Bottle. Mahogany beer with a tan head. Roast and backing fruit aroma. Raspberry and light caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Raspberry and roast lingers with light caramel.
4.0 Clear brown pour, with a thick frothy tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a raspberry malty aroma. Taste is rich chocolate malts up front, close behind is the slightly tart raspberry . No bitterness. Rich and creamy silky smooth mouth feel. Moderately dry berry finish. Nicely done.
1.9 22 ounce bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with an average beige head. Aroma of raspberries, chocolate, and malt. Taste is sweet raspberries, chocolate, and malt. Way too artificial. Could only manage a few ounces.
3.2 Bottle, WholeFoods, Orlando. Pours a deep brown colour. Bready aroma with hay & raspberry notes. Fairly full-bodied, the raspberry taste is there, but I wouldn’t mind it being a bit more upfront. More malt and bread late on, decent, but more of a brown ale than a fruit beer.
3.2 Tried it at 2 Sparkys in Salem, OR. Had a great raspberry taste but there was a slightly fishy aftertaste, not enough to discourage me but just a little odd. I will try it again some day.
3.3 poured a very deep, clear red-brown with a thin light tan head. Raspberry syrup aroma with some toasty malt. The flavor reminded me of Brach’s chocolate-covered raspberry nougats, with plenty of raspberry flavor (which was pleasant) not quite balanced by toasty, chocolatey malts
3.2 Pours a cloudy ruby-brown with a creamy off-white head. Aroma starts with raspberries and then follows with sweet malt, chocolate and some hops. Taste is mild-- mostly sweet malt with less raspberry than the aroma suggests and some chocolate. Light to medium bodied.
3.4 Pours a clear medium brown with a small fizzy brown head. Aroma of raspberries, chocolate, nuts, caramel and cocoa. Taste is much of the same with sweet chocolate and raspberries shining through with other grainy malts in the background. Pleasantly surprised by this beer as its a good mix of raspberry and beer.
3.5 Aroma is raspberries, malts and mild sweetness. The flavor is raspberries, malts, mild sweetness and a tart finish.
3.4 Bottle pour. Cloudy dark brown amber with a creamy tan head. Aroma is raspberries and chocolate. Medium body. Taste is a medium sweet with a bitter, then finishes with a little sweet aftertaste. Not bad at all.
2.9 Dark reddish brown. Thin soapy head. Potent raspberry aroma. Cloying sweetness and next to nothing aside from the color aludes to being a brown.
3.0 Bomber format Dark brown with ruby highlights. Light tan head that falls to a thick collar. Spotty lacing. Nose is raspberries, fairly tart nose with subtle brown ale components. Grain, roast, coffee, chocolate, and toffee. Taste is chocolate, roast, coffee, toffee and subtle raspberry. Fruit does get bigger as it sits in mouth. Finishes chocolate and tart. Light bodied, good carbonation and pretty mellow really. Its approachable. Its not bad at all really. Needs a bit more body.
3.2 Pours dark brown, aroma of raspberries and other fruits. Flavour of mild raspberry and brown ale.
3.6 "being that this is a pretty nice, nutty brown underneath the raspberries, this is a pretty enjoyable beer. One to get light beer drinkers to switch to the dark side. "
3.4 22 Oz bottle poured. Pours a dark reddish brown with a sweet, fresh r ed raspberry aroma. Hint of chocolate there too. Lasting cream like tan head. Sweet, lighter bodied beer with caramel like malt flavor. Raspberry flavor all throughout as expected. Fruity finish. Not a bad beer here. Had to try it, and enjoyed it.
3.2 Pours a brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, fruit, chocolate, caramel and hops. Taste is medium sweet leading to a fruity finish. Decent.
3.5 Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique April 2014. Brown with red flecks throughout. Big hit of sweet raspberries in the aroma carries into the flavour but not as strong.
1.3 smelled like sweet tarts, tasted like it too. pretty fake and artificial, like dextrose and citric acid. drain pour.
3.2 Nose has plenty of ripe raspberry, but only carries into the taste in great subtlety, and without a hint of additional sweetness. The ideal construction of a fruit beer that is embedded within another style, in my opinion (brown ale, in this case). The flavor of the brew is all easy-drinking nutty malt, just like Downtown Brown, but with a hint of raspberry. Very well done. Not a complicated or exciting profile, but tasty and easy to quaff.
1.7 This pours a medium, flat brown with an off-white head, and an unsubstantial lace. A faint aroma of artificial cherries and bad easter chocolate wafts from the glass. The first swallow allows those sweet, tootsie roll pop flavors to drift over my tongue but then burns it with bitter and offers no compensation for it. The body is flat but buzzy, only adding to the wrongness of this beer. I am very disappointed in yet another "fruit" brew.
2.7 Medium brown with a small tan head and minimal lace. Pretty strong cherry/raspberry aromas with some light milk chocolate and roasted malt. Slight tartness, less than the smell would suggest, up front followed quickly by cola and malt. The fruitiness seemed a bit manufactured - my compliments to the chemist.
3.2 From a bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown, probably a little too much raspberry for my liking, you don’t get much else in the flavour.
3.5 Des chocolats à la framboise en arôme, très frais et volatile. En bouche c’est croustillant et hautement engouffrable. Florida friendly.
2.8 Clear brown beer. Light raspberry nose. Slightly watery palate. Low carbonation. Very odd beer! Like a bottle of cold tea with raspberry flavour added. The raspberry is light and the tea flavour is strong. Minerally watery finish
