LoverBeer BeerBera

LoverBeer BeerBera

Fermented and maturated in oak vats. No adding yeast. Spontaneous fermentation because of adding freshly pressed Barbera grapes juice that contains the skins, directly from a viticulturist near Alba. Brewed once a year at vintage time obviously.
Available in 375 ml or 750 ml bottles.

3.7 Keg at Cafe Beermoth, Manchester. A hazy red colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of red and white grape, some farmhouse yeast, slight raspberry and redcurrants. Taste of red grape, redcurrants, some raspberry, maybe blackberry, slight funk and subtle vinegar. Light bodied and a slick texture. A dry, tart and funky, redcurrants sourness in the finish. A lovely mix of vinous fruits, funky farmhouse Saison yeast. Hides it’s ABV really well and really slick and refreshing.
3.6 Tap @ TCBW 2018. Pours red with light head. Aroma is dry, wooden, some berries, bitter. Taste is sour, dry, some sweet notes, spices, some grapes, wine. Nice beer!
3.3 Tap at TCBW 2018. Pours red. Aroma is fruits, berries, some sweetness and sourness, acidity. Flavor follows the nose. Overall: ok.
2.9 Tap at TCBW18. Hazy purour-red colour, no head. Aroma is redcurranty, sweet. Taste of berries, grape juice, bit acid. Watery feel in aftertaste. Medium body, almost still carbo. Weird one.
3.7 Tap, taster. Tasted on the 14/04/2018 at "El Sainete", Madrid. Deep ruby colour with tiny head. Aroma of red sour grapes, wood, berries. Taste is extremely sour with presence of grapes, wood and some vinegar. Finish is very sour and dry. Next one please!
3.4 Mildly sour with the taste of oak cask and a wine twist. This is an interesting experiment that makes a rather weak sour beer. Its refreashing and hides its vol well. It works all well together but ultimately is nothing special.
4.0 09-09-17 // taster, draft. At Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, London. Great sour. Lovely Grape Aroma, almost juicy. Well blanced sourness, mild bitterness.
3.6 Fat på All In Beer Fest 2017. Koppar-röd/orange med liten vit krona med stora bubblor. Lite spya och galla i doft och smak som är svår att skaka av sig. Svavel typ? Annars röda bär, nypon, röd vinäger och kolaremmar. Helt ok utöver äggigheten.
2.4 Sampled at Borefts '10 or '11. Although I liked some of their stuff, this was too sour and puckering for me, very woody and lots of tart red fruits, a bit dirty.
3.7 Wood, sour, red berries, raspberries, redcurrant. Hazy amber, tiny, creamy, off-white head. Light sour. More sour red berries, raspberries, cassis, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Nice Sour, well-balanced. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 17, Canada Water.
3.8 Drinked on tap. On the nose old grape brandy, raspberry. In mouth is medium light bodied, a very enjoyable tartness, seems a bit young but like all loverbeer 's beer is a very good beer.
4.1 Aroma of sour dark fruit, grape skin, funk. Taste is sourish, lots of dark fruit, barnyard.
3.5 Tap. Purple color with pink head. Aroma is cherries, red grapes, yoghurt. Taste is cherries, red yoghurt, sourdough. Oily mouthfeel. A bit too sweet.
3.3 Tap at beavertown extravaganza. Nose is strawberry, raspberry, cassis. Palate is tart raspberry, cherry. A bit watery. Sour finish. Not bad

4.0 2016 Vintage Bottle at Masseria Susafa, Sicily, 31st May 17. Pours a lovely light red colour. Aroma is tart fruit, grape skin, funk. Taste is sourish, lots of fruit, barn yard, cellar. Long fruity finish. Delicious stuff.
Corpo molto leggero, carbonazione medio-bassa, 8 gradi alcolici soprendentemente nascosti.
Aromat budzi skojarzenia z czerwonym wytrawnym winem i jednocześnie z domowym winem modrakowym, do tego dochodzi zapach niedojrzałych winogron, porzeczek, wiśni, starego drewna, skóry.
3.7 On tap at BBF. Reddish colour with off white head. Fruity aroma. Sour, fruity, caramel and acidic taste. Medium body.
3.8 375 ml bottle pours red with a white head. Aroma of grapes, oak and berries. Taste is tart, grapes and funk.
4.0 Woody, acetic, red fruits, copper with no head, medium body, fizzy, red fruits and woody again, very easy to drink...extremely pleasant beer, like a flemish but with a moor woody and vinous character.
3.6 On tap in Louisville (KY) A solid sour provides enough depth to be an enjoyable half pour. In typical Italian fashion it falls just short of being worth the cost of an entire bottle. Even so I’d give the brewery a second chance the next time I am at Holy Grale. Aroma / Appearance - A raspberry red body shimmers as half the light filters through its dense body. Raspberry pie filling melds with vinegar to form a slightly acidic texture that almost rivals a lambic. Even so the sweetness seeps through in time. Flavor / Palate - Raspberries dominate a sour feel that cuts through any previous samples with ease. The harshness never balances itself with anything beyond a basic sweetness like a handful of candy. If not for the slow building cloying nature it would be even better.
4.1 375ml bottle at home. Pale red/pinkish with a medium off-white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice sourness with subtle sweet and bitter tones. Oak, ripe berries, tart, vinegar and vanille. Nice.
3.4 Botella @Zio Pig, Gijón 26/12/2016. Bottled 2015 Color rojizo, sabor fruta, notas agrias.
3.9 Great beer, great grapes, berries, nice sourness, not to much. Some malty taste, but generally dry beer. Trying the same method of fermentation at home ;)
3.5 Keg @Malte, Coruña. 09-02-2015. Pours hazy reddish with little pinkish head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Tart. grapy. berries and some butiric nose. Light body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is fruity tart, grapy, some berries, little wood character. Dry aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.
3.8 375ml bottle at home in Richmond as ’Loverbeer BeerBera’, 8%, brewed in 2013, interesting production method - spontaneous fermentation, oak vats with grape. Ruby red, translucent, pale pink head dies to nothing quickly. Aroma is oaky, varnish, acetic, wafers, vanilla and plum, ribena. Body is a bit frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is spicy, woody and perfumed, lightly acidic, cherry, more ribena and biscuits. An interesting and tasty beer. Maybe a touch sweet but nice.
4.0 On tap at Open Baladin, Rome. Pours unclear red with small off-white head. Malty, fruity, grapes, berries, bit lactic, some sweetness and pleasant moderate sourness. Dry. Medium bodied.
