"L’utilizzo, unico nel suo genere, di susine damaschine rende questa straordinaria birra ricchissima di calde e sensuali note fruttate che sanno contrastare le nette, seppur mai troppo aggressive, punte di acidulo e di citrico. Sorprende, nel palato, un equilibrio notevole, inusuale per birre con un PH così basso, equilibrio assicurato da una notevole pienezza e da un fruttato così imponente da farsi ricordare a lungo." - Lorenzo Dabove in arte Kuaska

3.4 Keg at London beer festival, so short rating. Aroma is sour apples/fruit and malts. Murky amber brown body with small head.
3.9 Italian cherry ‘oud bruin’ by Loverbeer, vintage 37,5 cl bottle from 2014. Initially thick and moussy, eggshell-white, quickly opening head eventually vanishing completely, over a hazy deep and warm orange-hued amber with brownish tinge, especially after adding the sediment, when the beer becomes all murky caramel brown. Refined bouquet of sweet cherries and cherry jam, strawberry yoghurt, marmalade, raspberry juice, dry white wine, honey, wet wood, orange juice, unripe yellow plums, basil. Very fruity onset, lots of sweet cherry drenched in a natural, unripe plum-, nectarine- and grape-like tartness of the beer, strawberry-like aspect too, softly carbonated; the tartness gently dries the palate but keeps being countered by the fruity sucrose sweetness till the end, aided by a soft, bready and caramelly malt sweetish base; ends vinous, very fruity and juicy and a bit aromatically herbal (basil, thyme) with close to no hop bitterness, a late earthy hop note aside. The cherry-induced sweet-and-sourness persists and makes this beer to remarkably well-balanced, almost wine-like, aromatic, elegant fruit sour, and in that sense a very good, albeit somewhat idiosyncratic and perfumey example of the style. Nice one if you prefer your sours with a lot of fruit sweetness embedded into the whole.

3.7 Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15 - - Draught at Arrogant Sour Festival 2018. Shared by Werckmeister, thanks! Brownish, hazy body, with a small, yellowish head. Aroma of overripe fruits, leather, moderate vinegar, some berries. Tastes similar, with more berries. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a low carbonation. Finishes medium dry, a bit sweet, wooden, leathery, with overripe fruits, berries. Very nice. Characterful and balanced, with leathery barrel notes and lots of fruits. Not outstanding, but very well to drink.
4.2 0,15l from tap at Arrogant Sour Fest. Bourdeaux like color, small white head. Smells sweet herbal, earthy, musty, wood, marzipan, nutty, weird smell but I dig it. Full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes of berries, sweet herbs, bit citric, wood, nutty, marzipan. Finishes lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of citrus, wood and berry notes. Lovely
3.6 Bottle: Poured a clear reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and not much lacing. Aroma of tart notes with some cherry and oak notes also perceptible. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some cherry notes, some oak and subtle residual sugar notes with some hints of acidity. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable Flanders red style with just enough depth.
4.4 Bottle from LCBO. Vintage 2016. Pours an opaque deep pink colour. Aromas of grapes, plums, a whiff of citrus and some yeasty notes. Taste matches the aroma with some sour chetty notes and sour finish.
3.9 Bottle. 2012 vintage. Beermoth, Manchester. Colour of red wine vinegar. Barely a head. Nose has tinned prunes. Red wine dregs. Juicy Fruit gum. Some wood and a bit of glue, oddly. It’s kept the plum character really well. Missus reckons it’s all stewed plum. Taste is nicely bittersweet, with light, tangy sourness. Juicy and soft mouthfeel. Light carbonation. Tangy finish that dries out as it goes.

Brewdog Firenze.
3.9 Bottle at Fork&Bottle, vintage 2014. Pours lightly cloudy ruby-ish amber. Aroma is peach ice tea, light funk. Body is medium, lightly sour and tart, quite fruity, dark and red fruit. Soft carbonation. Quite sweet. Very astringent palate, immediately dries your mouth. Still fruity. Good!
3.8 Fruity: berries, strawberry, apple; Sour, like wild yeast sourness; a bit musty aroma as well; body is fresh and fizzy. You have to take some sips to get used to it, but after that it’s very nice and drinks easily.
4.2 Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 7th June 17. Pours a copper colour, aroma is pear drops, peach, sweet. Taste is light pear, prune, strawberry, peach, light sourness, especially after the Tilquin I’ve just had. Lovely stuff.

Carbonizzazione e corpo medio/bassi. La birra scivola benissimo ed è appagante.
3.4 Bottle at Brewdog (2014 vintage). Copper color, white head. Sour taste with citrus, winegum, tart, cherry, grass and a bit of sour apples. Sour finish with citrus, winegum, tart, sour apples and acidic notes. Very nice sour ale.
2.1 Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 13.02.17. Slightly hazy orange. Small head. Aroma of grapes and strawberries. Sour taste, with sweet grapes, artificial strawberry taste, soap and plum jam. Hubbabubba and bitter wine gum in aftertaste. Unbalanced.
