Mad Scientist Jam 72

Mad Scientist Jam 72

Jam 72 is a sneaky West Coast IPA you keep smelling and sipping until you get drunk.

We aimed for spicy/grapefruit tones to be dominant with little maltiness. Its not an ideal choice if you want your tongue numb from bitterness though.

3.5 Can, 7.2%. Fruity aroma. Weak grapefruity aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is grapefruity and quite malty with a distinct bitterness. Well-balanced.
2.4 330ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn) (5:3:5:2:9=2.4) Orange, small head. Dry plastic APA yeast fingerprint in the aroma, with some fruity jammy aspects. Harsh palate. Dodgy one, rough, not good.
3.4 44cl from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours loaded gold, transparent, with very fine white foam. Aroma is hoppy, piney. Body is slightly light, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium-high bitter, a little sweetish too. Final is average.
3.1 Can picked up from the Mad Scientist webshop, Hungary and consumed at home Saturday 6th March 2021 on Hungary food, drink, and perhaps music weekend, not thought about the latter yet. The beer pours mid gold, slight hazy appearance, like with the Jam 52 I also get a very, slight hint of butter/diacetyl on the nose, a little tropical on the nose and in the mouth, soft in the mouth, okay and better than the 52 but still not quite as good as I expected.
3.0 0.44 l can from Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Shared with little Dina and her family. Hazy orange, small off-white head. Grapefruit, peach, malts, earthy. Tart citrusy, malty, light bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light dry finish.
3.3 Pours dark golden, white head, short retention. Grapefruit and citrus aroma. In taste moderate bitterness, even some hop burn feeling. Spicy. Hop forward all the way,dry finish, medium lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. Well balanced, bitter IPA.
3.5 Can, 0.44l. Cloudy copper pour, huge frothy off-white head. Medium retention, lasting head, lots of broken lacing on the glass. Fruity and herbal nose, grapefruit, zesty, pine. Grainy notes in the background. Medium body, lively carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, fizzy, prickly on the tongue. Moderately thick. Bitter taste with mild malt sweetness and some light sour notes in the background. Herbal and fruity aroma, grassy, grapefruit, pine, citrus zest. Peppery, lingering herbal spiciness. Subtle alcohol burn, well balanced. Medium lasting finish, dry and bitter. Good.
3.6 Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Clear golden, small, frothy, white head. Aroma of pine nuts, hard cheese, grapefruit zest, mandarin, pineapple, peppercorns. Taste has sweetish mandarin & peach, bittersweet grapefruit peel, bit spicy & zesty, soft bready maltinesss accompanied by a yeasty-cheesy aspect. Earthy hoppy finish, some pepper, lots of citrus peel. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Enjoyable classic IPA with an own accent, could have been more pronounced even.
3.8 Strong, hoppy
3.8 Can. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is piney, grapefruits, white pepper, toasted malts. Taste is grapefruit, toasted malts, indeed on the spicy side, pinecone, with a rather crisp bitter finish that's not too bitter. Oily mouthfeel with quite some chewiness, natural carbonation. Proper West Coast, I like this a lot!
3.4 Can, 44 cl @home. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma is a little tart. Taste is clean and bitter with a short aftertaste. Malty profile. Medium carbonation.
3.5 Can. 7.2%. Best before 11.09.21. 10 cl. sample. Pours a hazy golden, with a white head. Some lacing. Fruity aroma. Grassy. Fresh. A bit juicy. Citrus. Flavour is the same, a bit more balanced. Bitter hop finish. Mild alc burn. Overall good. 27.11.20.
3.6 Lata. Citric fruity hoppy, nice aroma. Flavour: Goof fruity hoppy bitter citric, some exotic fruit. Pues buena esta chella.
3.3 Can.Dark golden colour with small white head.Aroma of hops and malt crispy fresh with nice hops flavour malty and grainy with nice malty taste and light finish.
Sympa.
3.4 Aroma: Ripe fruits and fruity hops. Flavour: Fruity bitterness with sweet ripe fruits. Aftertaste is bitter and tangy sweet. Colour: Orange with a white head. From: Can @ CraftBeerPusher webshop Sept. 2020.
3.5 Iz MAS Plenuma Rijeka. Samo kratko... Klasična malko voćnija IPA i u aromi i okusu....i da ...malo je suha.. Tijelo je srednje punoće ... Ok.
3.4 On tap at Beer & Play. Dark golden with a small white head. Aroma and taste of hops, malt, grapefruit and some caramel.
3.4 Tap at100 piv. Quite classic. Medium body, light caramel malt character, med-light sweetness. Med-high bitterness, moderate hops character, resiny, zesty, citrusy. Could use more aromatics actually, feels a bit bland for an IPA. Drinkable though. Good but not great.
3.2 Draught at Solmu. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, caramel, resin, grass and a bit of fruits. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, caramel, pine, a bit of fruits and grass. Okay IPA.
3.5 Bursztynowe. Klarowne. W aromacie cytrusy, białe owoce, żywica i karmel.
3.6 Copenhagen 1/6 2020. 44 cl can from Kvickly, Allerød. Drawing of a lot of brewing equipments with a half-naked lady with a motorcycle helmet on top. Very Rock 'N Roll. Pours unclear yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a moderate sweet malty odor and stronger citric odor. Caramel and sweet malts. Peach and apricot. Lemon and citrus. Light and gentle carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is citric an bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry. Solid IPA West Coast Style And a half-naked biker on top of it. I won't complain.
3.3 Cn at home. I was a little disappointed with this. It promises grapefruit and spicy. I get some spice but no grapefruit
3.5 Better than mango bay, but still is ok but not very good.
3.6 Hazy golden, off-white lace. Dry apricot and light pine aroma. Medium to full chewy body, peaches and cranberries, pleasant driness, grass, pine, berries, apricot. Nice balance.
3.6 Bottle. Nearly clear light amber, offwhite froth. Pine and caramel aroma. Roasted caramel. Sweet flavour, caramel, light pine. Fruity grapefruit finish.
Textura casi sedosa. Carbonatación media.
