2.8 0.5l bottle. Brown body with a thin off white head. Aroma and taste of toast, orange zest, raisins and floral hops. Correct beer, but nothing super special.
2.6 Bottle. Brownish black with a decent head. Mild aroma of roasted malts. Taste is malts, liquorice, dark bread and metal. Too sweet and the finishing bitterness feels like an afterthought. Medium carbonation. Watery. Can't really see this to ever be nominated for the Schwarzbier Hall of Fame.
Balansert, men heller kjedelig.
2.2 On tap at Alt-Berliner Wirtshaus, Berlin. Pours dark brown/red with a thinning, frothy, beige head. The aroma contains roasted malt, yeast, hops and some iron. It tastes light sweet and light bitter. Thin body, watery texture. Could have used more alcohol. Underwhelming in taste.
3.5 My German Beer Rating number 1000! Chopp/draught @ Andy’s near Potzdamer Platz. Clear black colour, big light brown head, good lacing. Sweet roasty caramel malty aroma with dark fruits. Flavour is sweet with roasty malt and caramel, dark fruits, light chocolate, good bitterness.
2.9 Bottle. Dark brown color with small off-white head. Aroma has caramel, malt. Taste is malty sweet with quite long fairly sweet aftertaste. Flavors of malt, caramel.
3.6 It pours a dark brown with a tan head. It has aromas of roast, licorice, and dark fruits. The is a good forward malt flavor with dark fruits in the background.
2.8 Bottle in Germany. Dark brown pour, rocky off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, sugary malts, some caramel and a hint of coffee. Flavor is quite sweet, slightly bitter, a hint of roast and a bit thin.
2.8 Brown /reddish clear with small white head. Slight malty aroma. Medium bitter, medium sour, bit sweet with dark bread notes. Slight bitterness in the aftertaste.
3.2 Tap. Some nice roast aromas of liquorice, caramel, a little nuts. Malt-forward for sure, but not overdone in that way. Light body, but not watery at all. Not overly complex either. Nice.
3.2 Bottle from Galeria Kaufhof, Berlin. Dark brown with a large tan head. Quite sweet with caramel, dark bread, some roasted malt and light fruit. The body was on the light side.
3.4 On tap at Zur Leitzen Instanz restaurant in Berlin, Germany. Opaque, dark rosewood brown with a tan head and good lacing. Aroma of toasted wheat, caramel and roasted malt. Taste of heavily roasted wheat, toast, mild sour milk, toasted nuts and caramel. Medium/light body and medium/low carbonation. Lighter mouthfeel than desirable for the style. Very roasty and slightly sweet. Nothing fancy or complex, but a most welcome alternative to a pils or Berliner weiss, which were the other choices.
3.0 on tap mogano schiuma media non molto intensa delicato malto poco luppolata
2.9 0.5l bottle from kaisers in berlin/wilmersdorfer arcaden, 0.69€. pours a dark chestnut with a small off-white head and a nice lacing. aroma of toasted malts, dark chocolate, sour milk, raspberry. flavour of peanuts, ash, rye bread. very slightly sweet. light body. ok-ish.
2.9 On draught. Light carbonation, toasty, hints of bitter chocolate and dark stone fruit. A thin mouthfeel lets it down. Not bad though.
3.5 Draught at Julchen Hoppe Berlin, 25.12.15.Dark brown with a beige head. Roasty and grainy aroma, bitter taste, a little dry and roasty, some sundried seeds. Medium body, long grainy finish. Balanced.
2.0 50cl picked bb09/2016 up somewhere en-route Potsdam/Berlin. - Pours stale cherrybrown Coke. Industrial rendition of regionality & rustic roast renders: a smell as if entering a dank eatery dive from the Berlin cold: the stale damps of boiled cabbage, fried Camembert, dark rye bread. Some dark roast, toasted pumpernickel, sesame oil, cabbage in taste. late herbal/metallic bitters, sesame oil, watery. Note to Kindl/Oetker: "unter Verwendung bester Rohstoffe" does not mean exclusive use of hop extract. Manages to transport some character (mostly bad) in spite of the broad brush painted with.
3.0 Tap - Nussbraune Farbe, wenig Schaum, viel Kohlensäure. Körper malzig, etwas dünn. Geschmack sehr angenehm, leicht süßlich, rauchig, gut ausbalanciert. Eher trockener Abgang, süffig.
3.0 Flaske.
Brunatna barwa z rubinowymi refleksami, piana bezowa obfita choc szybko znika. Nuty ciemnych slodow, ciemnego pieczywa dominuja w aromacie i smaku. Piwko przecietne ale smaczne i pijalne z lekkim, slodkim posmakiem.
3.4 Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piwo o ladnej trwalej bezowej piance. Kolor brazowawo rubinowy zapach daktyli i fig. Smak nieco piernikowy mnostwo karmelu i troche chmielnej swiezosci.
3.5 Malty chocolately, medium body. Well put together and fairly enjoyable, at least to me.
3.1 Bottles, Bistro am Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin. Deep mahogany smoothed over with yellow beige. Nose of rust and well toasted grain. Mellow watery cocoa and rust flavour. Not the height of excitement but a very pleasant beverage. Hints of toasted nuts and chlorine.
2.7 Bottle at Mommseneck, Berlin. Dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma has caramel and toasted notes. Light-bodied. Caramel, toasted notes. A bit cardboardish. Not a prize winner.
2.6 Aroma is burned toast, plums, caramel. Taste is a weak bitterness, with toasted nuances. Slightly watery body. Just too boring to really be good...
2.1 Nice beer at the right temperature. Not as toasted as I would expected when compared to some of the dunkel beers in Berlin
3.4 Gards v?cu alus. Dulkains ar labu p?cgar?u. Gar?a ir notur?ga. Labs apinju r?gtums ...
3.6 Draught @ Zur letzten instanz. Elegant schwarzbier with notes of coffee, roasted malts and caramel.
