2.6 12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $8.99/6-pack. Ok.
2.1 For all tastes = standard boring Blonde ale. Didn’t really expect more, yet somehow disappointed. Very very pedestrian.
2.3 This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a sly burnt yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than about thirty seconds. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. One filmy ring of lacing clings to the side and then slides into the beer. The smell had a dried lemon rind to it and grasping a dried sweet grass trying to balance. The lemon is bitter and huge and dry. The taste was mainly harsh bitter lemon. Dried out lemon hits in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with not so much sessionability about it, probably due to the fact of the overly bitter component of the lemon. Overall, some would call this one dimensional, me, I guess we could say that, but at the same time, I’m not really impressed with the aroma and taste, so...there’s a good chance, I probably won’t come back to this.
2.7 Draft at Madrones in Frederick, MD served in a pint glass; clear golden color with white head. Aroma notes of light malt sweetness, some grain and faint grassy/fruity hops. Taste adds bread, more malt sweetness and light earthiness. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Nice enough malty yet crisp golden ale.
1.6 12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent light yellow color with very little carbonation, razor thin white ring about the vessel for a head with very light lacing. Aroma of grass- and that’s about it. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt just tastes like grass on the start, light pepper in the middle, finish is rather bland which transcends into water. Drinkable, but everytime I have a Magic Hat brew, it just tastes off to me.
1.5 Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear gold, no real head, lace or retention. Aroma of grassy and dank. Taste is sweet, no real bitterness. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, watery mouth feel. Finishes skunk like. This is either old or just belongs with the TV beers. Not good.
0.5 Tastes very much like cat piss. Don’t ask me how I know. Would not recommend you test my assertion, but let me know if you do.
2.3 bottle. golden with small head. light body. grassy and bland. if budweiser made a golden/cream ale, it would taste like this.
3.6 12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/9/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a good English pale ale style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
2.0 12oz bottle. Pours the color of urine and doesn’t taste much better. Absolutely no head. Might have gotten a bad bottle but whatever the case this just wasn’t any good. Ended up down the drain.
2.7 Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/8/15 Aroma: The aroma is lightly malty, with bread, grain, dough, a little dirt, and some light grass Appearance: It pours a clear gold color with small, fizzy head that dissipates quickly Flavor: The flavor is similar, doughy, with some dirt and grassy flavor and a little mustiness Palate: The body is light-medium, overly fizzy, which hurts the drinkability, with a lightly dry finish Overall Impression: Eh. This one is okay. There’s some solid components here. Not a great mouthfeel. It goes down alright, but overall, it just isn’t a particularly interesting beer.
3.0 Bottle. Pours a golden color. Aroma of citrus, light fruit, malt sweetness. Taste of fruit sweetness, bit of malt sweetness and citrus inthe background. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body and a smooth feel. Nice beer good for a few.
2.4 Draught/sample at Beer Frog cons 2015-05-07 Spring Hill AR: white bread cardboardbox AP: very yellow, frothy snowwhite fluffy head F: cardboardbox, cerial, wee watery, citrus
2.9 Bottle @ home, picked up at Liquor Mart in Boulder. Pours a slightly hazy yellow appearance with a white head. Lemon, corn, sweet grain in the nose with a little bit of bitterness. Twangy, bland, sweet, corny flavor. A little bit of grape and bubble gum. Moderate high sweetness. Grassy herbal notes. Not that good. Pass.
2.2 Bottle, gold pour white head, nose and taste are cream, Citrus, lemon. Okay cream ale here
2.4 4/26/15. 12oz bottle from a Publix in Gainesville. Clear golden pour with a very small head that’s gone quick and leaves no lacing whatsoever. Weird spritzy aroma, like Sprite and vodka with some flower petals. Plain flavor, a bit weird, papery, tastes like Magic Hat. Not sure how to explain that, but it’s true. Meh.
3.5 Golden ale that is wrong to force it. Gotta be yourself and this is a golden brown light beer with great taste.
2.9 12 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of grains and malts. Taste is malts and grass.
3.1 Bottle during golf. Light golden color. Aroma of fruity grape and apricot. Sweet tasting cream ale.
2.4 Pour is a lemonade looking yellow with a average white head. Aroma is kinda a adjunct laden malt with not much else. Flavor is more of a chewy, doughy malt and again not much else after that. Just a drinking beer and not much more than that.
2.3 Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Nose is slightly hoppy. Body is medium. Taste is sweet malt with a hop aftertaste.
2.3 Light and watery with bubblegum on the nose and not a whole lot of flavor after an initial burst of sweetness. Disappointing.
2.8 Aromat bardzo słodowy, lekko kwaśny. Złoty klarowny, średnia piana. Bardzo lagerowy. Wodnisty, nieco bez smaku, wysoko nasycony. Delikatny słodowy posmak.
3.0 Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is fruity malt. Light with subtle fruit.
3.2 Wellllll, I gotta confess, again, that the reason this beer was created (glorification of USA’s best small ski resort) contributes to my rating..... hey, Im reviewing beer here, not doing an experiment in a lab, for crissakes. Subjectivity.... anyway, its well ahead of other light-ish lager-y beers flavor and palate wise, and though its not my favorite Magic Hat product, its refreshing enough after an afternoon of pounding through moguls & dodging Stark Mountain trees. Ullr would approve, I think.....
2.9 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Nearly clear light golden amber color, white head, stripes of lace. Aroma of malt and floral hops. Taste is malt that has a little jolt of adjunct in it, moving through the palate with carbonation and hay joining in until mild floral hops enter late with minimal effect, leaving mostly sweet in its wake. This actually doesn’t "go down effortlessly." being a little heavy and bloating in my stomach.
1.7 Pours a straw from a bottle. Almost tastes like there’s corn in here. Bland, muddled, not a great beer. What’s up with Magic Hat, each one I try is a let down.
3.4 Luminous, cristal clear, gold. Distinctive yeasty nose. Light body, light flavor, feeble mouthfeel, low heat and carbonation, short length. Moderately but predominantly bitter, low acidity. Yeasty, malty. Ok.
3.1 On tap at Wildflowers in Yardville, NJ. Light golden color. Small creamy white head. Aroma is fruity malt, notes of peach and sweet corn. Flavor is light sweet malt with a touch of melon and honey. Very smooth and drinkable. Little hop prescence.
2.8 It poured a pale golden color with a white head. The aroma was of hops and not much else. The taste was decent with grass, hops and a thin malt backbone. Just ok.
