4.0 On tap at Pizza Paradiso (6/20/15). Alcohol sweetness, chocolate, coffee, licorice, rose water, bourbon and ginger ale. Dark black opaque with thin head. Heavy chewy body with medium carbonation. Taste of licorice, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Light molasses tang. Warming after. Nice stout.
4.1 @Borefts 2014 like the xeminez, very big also and such, but this one is a bit more traditional
3.9 Bottle shared by Jack - thanks! Rich dark pour with a smaller head. Sweet molasses and booze in here. Slick palate. Good stuff.
3.8 Bomber shared by Jackl, thanks man. Dark black pour. Strong bourbon booze aroma. Taste pretty much follows, some sweetness. Good stuff.
3.8 Thanks to Owen for the bottle Jet black with dark brown head. Good spotty lacing and good head retention. Nose is chocolate, bourbon, roasted malts, char, vanilla, some dark fruits, oak, and vanilla. Taste is a lot of bourbon and oak. Hints of dark fruits, oak, roast, and acid. Far bigger than the 10.5% gives. Quite boozy. Lots of oil, lots of oak and bourbon in the feel. As said a lot of booze but pretty drinkable for the style.
4.1 Shared bottle at Øst, Stavanger. Pours black with a small creamy tanned head. Lovely inviting aroma, dark malts, some coffee, vanilla, red fruits. Thick oily mouthfeel. Taste is delicious and complex dark malty, vanilla, liquorice, bourbon, spice, very well hidden alcohol, smooth lingering finish.
3.6 Bottle shared with JMD and OGJ at Øst 03.09.15. Ebony. Brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter liquorice and vanilla. Similar taste, also with star anise. Evident bitterness. Oily mouthfeel.
3.4 2/21/15. Sampled during RBWG 2015. Black pour under a small tan head. Chocolate strong in the aroma, fudgey when mixed with the barrel, some whiskey, oak, a hint of acidity. Chocolate flavor, light coffee, roast, whiskey, barrel, hinting at tartness. Eh.

3.6 Shared at RBWG, thanks Ferris! Big, boozy, chocolate, malt, and a ton of bourbon. Syrupy body. Nice BA entry.
3.8 Draft - Molasses, light spice and chocolate. Deep jet brown with a decent brown head. Chocolate, roasty malts, light booze and nice dark chocolate and bitter finish.
3.9 Shared bottle (thanks Ferris). Strong flavor. Weak point may be the particular bourbon barrel used, although the BBL effects are well done: Obvious bourbon notes, a faint wood note, leaving the malts showing too. Thick, smooth and syrupy body.
3.5 Bottle at RBWG GT. Nose is a super chocolate booze Bomb. A chest warming alcohol burn. Inky. Lightly tart. Very hot.
4.0 Tasted during RBWG grand tasting. Thanks Ferris for sharing. Near-black color. Thin ring of tan head. Dots and bits of lace. Fantastic coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, mild bourbon oak. Medium to bigger body. Smooth chewy thick texture. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, bigger bitterness too. Light bit of pleasant heat on the back end. Very nice BA imperial stout.
4.0 Pours black. Bit of foam. Nose is sweet, vanilla, bitter cocolate. Taste is sweet, vanilla in there too, tobacco, dries your mouth. Hint of alcohol, warming, nice. Great, exactly to the point.
4.2 Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This inky black beer pours with a thin brown head. It has a rich chocolate, oak and vanilla flavour with a warming gentle whisky, leather and liquorice finish.
4.1 At Borefts 2014. Pours jet black, white small head. Aroma of bourbon goodness, chocolate, roast. Tast eis more chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and a little nice bitter to wrap it up. Awesome.
4.0 Robust and roasty with elements of cola, caramel and slight butter. Bourbon radiates throughout this not quite full bodied effort making it satisfyingly complex and potent. Very good and individual.
4.1 Beautiful bottle: Thanks Leighton: Served in a Chouffe glass. Black beer with a medium sized light brown head. Aromas of chocolate, mocha, roast, earth, chewing gum, mint, manure, coffee, some alcohol and slight whiskey tone. Flavour is light bourbon with some good chocolate notes, pretty strong bitters, malts, wood, mocha, coffee, some spice, cacoa, earth, nuts, roast and raisin. Aftertaste is bitter, chocolate, coffee, some mocha and spiced wood tints with a hint of bourbon. Low carbo, spiced mouthfeel between watery and creamy, more than medium bodied and a bitter light dry texture.
4.0 Aroma is sweet bourbon and slight coffee. Pours with a longlasting fluffy brown head. Taste is molasses, dark chocolate and complimentary notes of bourbon. This is quite thick. Lovely stuff
4.1 Black with a brown head - Sweet wood, vanilla and malt aroma - Sweet malt body with vanilla, licorice, chocolate and coffee with some bitterness in the back - The coffee and vanlilla goes into the finish - This was a treat
4.1 Pours black with a thin light brown head. Aromas of roasted coffee, some licorice, bourbon, hazelnuts, dates and some cocoa. Taste is pretty bourbon up front, licorice, coffee roast, malty sweetness. Dry bittersweet and hazelnutty finish.
4.1 Bottle courtesy of Craig, (cheers Craig) consumed at Isobels, Friday 10th October 2014 shared with dad & Baz Pours black with large sticky head. Really smooth I like the BA but this is very much a UK impy stout i.e. nothing overdone. Some hoppiness shows, bitter chocolate its like a meal or to be more accurate a dessert in a glass. Nice aroma but again its not too pushy, thick in mouth, glorious chocolate. Lovely. At a family get together so can’t be seen to be rating too much. A8 A5 T8 P4 Ov16 4.1
3.8 On tap at Borefts 2014. Comes black with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, and vanilla. Very good.
4.0 Both on draft as well as the 1st version on bottle (courtesy of Thomas Marshall) at BBF’14 - scoring is on the bottled version - way better than the draft. Pours thick opaque black, nearly no head. Slight bourbon vanilla touch, and some bee wax. Nice balanced body, great roastiness. Taste is full sweet dark chocolate.
3.7 Older bottle opened at BBF 14 . Pours black, small grey head . Smell is bit bourbon . ( and oak ) . Taste is bitter , bourbon , sweet, roasty malts ( bit metallic ) . Very nice
4.0 Borefts 2014. Poured deep brown, virtually black with a beige head. Aroma of vanilla smoothness, moderate alcohol soaked berries, coffee and roast malt. Full body, flavour as the aroma, a bit of liquorice and molasses sweetness.
