Magic Rock Common Grounds

Magic Rock Common Grounds

A full bodied, decadently smooth coffee beer in collaboration with local roaster Dark Woods. 7 different malts combine with 7 different coffees added at 3 different points during the brew to create a sweet toffee, rich fruit and chocolate depth, accented with notes of vanilla, and hazelnut. A coffee beer designed with texture, aroma and deliciousness in mind, brewed to celebrate locality and a shared philosophy in creative quality.

3.8 Almost jet black color with tanned head. Aroma has caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and vanilla. Taste is malty sweet with long sweet and somewhat bitter aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, dark roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and coffee.
3.6 Cappuccino, cheap coffee.
3.4 330ml can. Pours dark brown with a moderate tan head. Strong coffee aroma, flavour is sweet, fruity coffee with a very bitter finish
3.5 Cask at the taproom. Pours opaque deep brown with a decent tan cap. Aroma: intense cold brew coffee, bitter dark chocolate, light vanilla. Taste: light sweet & moderate bitter, coffee up front, with chocolate & vanilla behind. Medium body with frothy carbonation, pronounced dry bitter close.
3.7 Dose 0,5l: Schwarz, kräftige Trübung, kräftiger stabiler mittelporiger beiger Schaum; kräftig würzige Nase, dunkle/eingelegte Früchte, kräftige Röstaromen, Kakao, Kaffee, Röstmalz, Getreide, dunkles Karamell, leichte Hopfenaromen, dezente fruchtige Säure, getrocknete dunkle Beeren, Vanille; würziger Körper, kräftig-würzige Süße, Vanille, Kakao, Kaffee, Nüsse, kräftige Röstaromen, Malz, Malzzucker, dunkles Karamell, cremig, kräftige Kohlensäure, dezente eher trockene Hopfennoten; angenehmer würzig-trockener Nachgang
3.8 330ml can. Black with a beige frothy head where you can hear the fizz. Leaves some retention but no lacing. Aroma of roasted almost burnt coffee beans and vanilla but not getting the chocolate note. The dark chocolate does come through in the taste however, but the prominent flavour is roasted coffee beans but there is a freshness to it which is very pleasant. The mouthfeel is superb with a low but tingly carbonation and full body. I'm not a coffee person but I found this surprisingly moorish although I do have a sweet tooth and this is more of the sweet side although there is an underlying bitterness. Excellent.
3.9 Strong coffee. Nice. Carbonated.
4.2 Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and malt. Flavour is coffee, dark chocolate and malt. Goes down easy. I didn't get any vanilla from this although it's described as a coffee porter with chocolate and vanilla. Full marks on the coffee flavour though, it comes through very well.
3.7 Black appearance. Aroma is coffee and vanilla. Flavour is roasted, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and dark chocolate.
4.4 Porter pours a dark brown colour with a beige coloured head Notes of roasted coffee and vanilla cocoa nibs Can version
3.7 Can at za razBIRAchi. Thickly opaque very dark brown, not much head but a load of lacing, no visible rising carbonation. Aromas of intense fresh coffee with bitter dark chocolate and husky vanilla underneath. In the mouth, coffee at first, then chocolate with vanilla rounding out the experience, smooth texture at first then dry and finally almost bitter enough to be a stout, no hoppy or grainy flavours a long finish. Really rather good.
3.5 Robe noire. Notes de chocolat, de café et plus timidement de vanille. Pas mal même si ce n'est pas si intense que ça sur le café.
4.3 Magic Rock Common Grounds Coffee Porter 5.4%. Blackish ruby, complex dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate aroma, full bodied, dark malt, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, spices. Gorgeous Porter from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
3.3 A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, bitter chocolate with coffee, herbal hops, pleasant. In mouth, bitter chocolate with herbal hops, light acidity from coffee, OK. Can from Keep6 imports.
2.1 Full bodied and silkily smooth in body. Dark and dense, but a little heavy on the bitterness for me.
4.0 V nice coffee flavour, from Honest Brew
3.6 Ordered online from the LCBO, lots of coffee in the taste, which is the extra that adds to it.
3.6 Many thanks to SimonTomlinson. 33cl can. Fantastic smooth mild coffee beginning. Velvet chocolate, smooth mild roast with hints of burned chocolate. Vanilla in the back, lots of smooth roast and hints of grain. Nice.
4.1 Aroma : Deeply roasted coffee and sweet dark chocolate maltiness, light burnt woody/charcoaly undertone with an earthy slightly fusty note. Taste : As aroma. Full bodied, smooth, dry roasty almost burnt coffee bitterness slighly offset by a sweet chocolate touch. Excellent!
4.1 Bloody lovely. Tastes almost exactly like an espresso Martini, which might not be everyone's cup of tea but I liked it.
3.8 Probably about as perfect as the style can get. It's got that cold brewed taste, but just a touch to make it up front but not overwhelming. Balanced with a full bodied background creamy porter. online craftbeer-shop.com
3.4 Dark stout and upon pouring a good head. Vania and coffee aroma. Solid stout with a slight bitter yet smooth taste.
3.9 330ml can from Beer52. Pours jet black with a tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, light coffee, vanilla, hint of dark fruits. Taste is more of the same with the coffee more prominent than in the aroma. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Low to moderate coffee bitterness on the finish. A very well put together porter.
4.5 Tastes more like cold coffee drink than an actual porter
3.7 A: chocolaty / toasty, light coffee, light caramel App: dark brown close to black small beige head. T /p: med body with short to moderate long bitter finish. Moderate carbonation O : Decent one, the coffee could have been a notch more present. The backbone of the beer is well done.
3.7 Liquide noir, mousse quasi inexistante. Un nez torréfié cendre et une légère vanille. En bouche beaucoup de café, terminant sur une vanille puissante. Bière annoncée café et c'est clairement ça avec ce côté vanille en plus. Très bien réalisée à reboire !
2.6 Can. Lots of ashy, cold, stale coffee. Light beany notes, light cocoa, moccha feel in the flavour. Watery, dryish beer. Lots of ingredients used for a forgettable outcome.
