3.8 @Biercafé Au Trappiste; canned - hazy dark amber beer under a solid creamy beige foam; fairly hoppy with notes of red fruits, earth and caramel, grapefruits; creamy palate, medium-bodied, light earthy bitterness; residual sweetness, earthy, caramelish and red fruity finish
3.8 330 ml can from The Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Pours deep amber with a medium white head. Aroma is hoppy , tropical fruits , some citrus fruits, malty, caramel and some bread. Taste is sweet , malty, caramel, bread, with some hoppy bitterness. Body is medium with lively carbonation with a medium lasting bitter and dry finish.
3.6 Can 33 cl. Pours a hazy amber to muddy brown with a medium pinkish white head and an aroma of grapefruits, sweet malts, caramel, fudge, pine, lime, mandarin, cookies and toffee. The taste is medium sweet with a soft carbonation, medium body and a medium lasting bitter finish. Very nice!
3.6 I enjoy full bodied red ales a lot and this didn't disappoint. Hoppy, with strong citrus flavours predominating but the malts giving it a deeper longer lasting flavour and the slight bitter finish accompanying the fruits made this a very enjoyable beer.
4.1 Reddish coloured beer, had from cask, very fruity. Nice creamy head. Definitely buy again
3.6 330ml bottle at a private tasting at Zarazbirachi, Ruse. Pours cloudy with a foam-and-froth head that soon settled to the surface, very heavy lacing but no visible bead. Mid brown in colour. On the nose, citrus with apricot and hints of caramel and honey. Very fizzy in the mouth, but also caressingly smooth, giving way to a light mouth-feel, with some apricot and citrus flavours over a backbone of honey and caramel malts, almost no sweetness, leading to a crisp finish. Overall, a complex and refreshing summer ale.
3.6 Friday, March 16, 2018. Can, 33cL. 4.6%. Purchase ("La Cervoiserie", @Poitiers, FR). Home. A shining amber mahogany opaque beer with a big off-white foamy head ; good retention and lacing. Caramel, red berries notes (strawberry), light tropical fruits, light resin, herbal note. Medium dry refreshing bitter, light spicy, sweet note. Light to medium body, thin oily texture, soft gaseous, fruity dry bitter finish. Overall, good !
3.5 Cask at the poppy and pint. Pours reddish amber brown. Pithy citrus and caramel malts. Taste is medium sweet to bitter. Palate medium bodied sticky texture average carbonation and a sour finish. Good enough.
3.3 330 ml can. Pours a dark copper color with full head. Aromas of toffee, candied oranges, pine, and sweet toasted malts. Flavors of bitter orange, tobacco, metallic pine, and toasted malts
3.5 From tap at Taphouse. A hazy dark brown coloured beer with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, hops, grass, pine and with a bitter finish.
3.5 Can. Brownish coloured beer with a strong bubbly off white head. The aroma is yeasty with hops and a little maltiness. The flavour is gently bitter with yeastiness and hops with a hint of malt. Overall a reasonable beer.
3.7 Pours dirty brown with foamy off white head. Aroma of caramel. Hoppy mild bitter taste
3.2 Pours a murky brown amber. Citris rind, pine, fruit, toffee and sweet malt aroma. Watery thin and flat mouthfeel. Sweet crystal malts and citris hop combonation. Fancy can. Does not really live up to artwork.
3.7 Appearance- deep amber/ruby red, with a beige foamy head of one finger. Aroma- fruity hops, cherry, fruitcake, sweet malt, malt loaf, apple and blackcurrant. Taste- dark fruits, cherry pie, fruitcake, rye hints, bitter hops, fluffy and fairly full mouthfeel. Good stuff.
3.7 Can. Hazy brown with an off white head. Aroma of pungent grapefruit and other citrus, layers of toffee, some pine needles. No stewed, "dank" or garlic chive notes. Moderate carbonation, quite full bodied but not all that sweet for well under 5% ABV. The toffeeish malt has presence but doesn't linger with the finish not being all that bitter but just enough to cleanse the palate. Citrus and spicy pine float above. Clever, very satisfying.
3.4 From tap at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Clear dark amber copper color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, caramel, light bread, grass, pine. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.
4.0 nice white caramel red head, floral. earthy hops, caramel flavour from malts....light bitter earthy bitter aftertaste...
3.5 330 ml can, bb. 15.07.2018. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with an off-white head. The aroma is lightly to medium hoppy (pine forest, resin) and medium malty - lightly roasted malt (caramel, honey, dark bread crust). Medium, watery body with a low carbonation, a light to medium bitterness and a very light sweetness. The flavor is medium hoppy (pine and resin) in front of a lightly roasted, lightly sweetish malt similar to the smell and a subtle fruitiness. Overall nicely balanced with a good hop presence and just enough malt. Aroma: 7 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Palate: 3 Overall: 14
2.6 (can) very hazy deep amber colour with a frothy light-beige head. aroma of burnt caramel and dark malts, with a light touch of chocolate raisins, some herbal hops and grand marnier. flavour is more herbal hops and bitter orange peel, with a hint of caramelized malts, some yeast and a medium-bitter ethanolic finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
3.0 Pours cloudy red-brown. Thick off-white head. Aroma is spice. Taste is fruity, caramel. Mouthfeel is effervescent, medium body. Overall: an impressive beer with many flavours.
3.2 Hazy brown with little white head. Aroma is fruity hops, lychee, orange zest, flowers, a tad of undissolved hop chips, crackery malt, slightly musty pine tree resin. Taste is fresh sourness with lots of hoppy old oxidized flavours. A bit unbalanced. Meh.
3.1 Can. Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is resinous, spruces, caramely. Taste is resinous, caramel, bready, a bit thin. Sticky oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
3.1 Can.Big pine and earth hop nose, metallic resinny. Cloudy red, off-white lace. Lightbodied, somewhat thin. Hayish dry malt, light minerals, west coast hops. mhh ok
Final sec. Bona!
