Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Clear ruby/brown body with a beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of Worcester sauce and Marmite. Flavour of raisin and cranberry. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Nicely balanced and interesting flavours.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Colin. A clear amber brown coloured pour with a small greyish beige head. Aroma is earthy, dried raisin , brown bread, . Flavour is composed of semi sweet, earthy brown bread , dried fruit, autumnal, , fruit loaf. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation.

Nose is brown bread, dried fruits, light herb, biscuit, toffee.
Taste comprises fruit slice, brown bread, dark malts, toffee, hint of tobacco.
Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, some dryness to the close.

500ml bottle from We Brought Beer, Tooting. Clear deep brown with a bright hue and a beige head. Lovely aroma of dark malt, caramel, biscuity malt and toffee cinders. Smooth as heck. This is really nicely balanced, and so easy drinking.
Color granate oscuro, casi negro, con reflejos anaranjados, sin turbiedad, translúcida. Espuma beige de casi dos dedos de espesor y media retención. Aroma escaso, cereal ligeramente tostado, leve bizcocho y notas herbales. Sabor medio, cereal tostado, galleta y notas herbales, final medio corto, maltoso con posgusto ligeramente herbal, fresco, alcohol casi imperceptible. Textura poco más que acuosa. Carbonatación media.
0,5 bottle. Simple look, old time-feeling bottle. The head is neither too nor durable. Its color is lighter brown, cola-like. Dry, dark chocolate, a little coffee, quite a good aroma. A medium-bodied, slightly wine-barreled, interesting brown lager beer. The bitter-dry finish, while drinking, is really bodied, delicious. I recommend it to lovers of lighter brown beers!

Egyszerű megjelenés, régies üveg. Habja nem túl vagy, és nem is tartós. Színe világosabb barna, cola-szerű. Száraz, étcsokis, picit kávés, egész jó aroma. Közepesen testes, kicsit boroshordós, érdekes barna láger-sör. Keserű-száraz lecsengés, ivás közben viszont tényleg testesebb, finom, telt. Kicsit vizes lecsengés. A könnyebb barna sörök kedvelőinek ajánlom!
"Mahrs Bräu E.T.A.", Flasche von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Tiefdunkles Kastanienrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase mildes dunkles Malz mit feinen Melanoidinen (Brotkruste), schwach röstmalzig (Kakao), Vanille, Rumrosinen. - Antrunk überraschend schlank und nur verhalten röstmalzig: Milchschokolade, kalter Kaffee - die Formulierung "unterschwelliges Schokoladenaroma" vom Etikett trifft es gut. Feine Kakaosüße. Milder rezent, glatt. Im Abgang tief kakaoig-malzbitter mit zarter Schokoladensäure und äußerst dezenter herbaler Hopfung. - Eigenwilliges doch solides Dunkles, das aber für meinen Geschmack zuviel Schokolade und zu wenig Hopfen hat. Pours clear, dark brown with a red hue and a medium-sized off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin - almost transparent - layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a medium strong sweet, malty odor mingling with a light grainy sourness. Toasted malts, caramel, sweet malts.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a more moderate, sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish and lingers for a bit. Finish is sweet and flat.

W smaku zdecydowanie przewodzi słód o posmaku toffi, leciuteńko palony, raczej mało goryczki, prym wiedzie słodycz, ale nie jakaś zalegająca. W aromacie słód, skórka chleba, leciutko paloności, toffi. Z wyglądu bardzo ciemny brąz, nietrwała piana, o kolorze lekko przybrudzonej bieli. Piwo ogólnie spoko.
10.04.2020: 500 ml bottle at home, bb. 08.07.2020, bought at The Crafts, Kloten. Pours a clear, very dark copper to mahogany with an off-white head. The aroma is lightly to medium malty with toasted malt, toffee, rye bread, bread crust, some sweetish grains, some dried fruits and a light earthy hop quality. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a light to medium sweetness and a light bitterness. Well balanced. The flavor is malt dominated with lightly sweetish toasted malt, bread, rye bread, toffee, raisins, dried apples, hints of honey again accompanied by a light earthy hop presence. Finishes with light toasted notes and a very light hoppy bitterness. Overall a malt driven but well balanced and never too sweet dark Lager with a good drinkability.

Dark with lasting white head. Aroma has good grains but is a bit raw. The same goes for the taste. Some herbal aspects to the finish. Unusually, Phil didn't have this.

Das Bier habe ich anno 2014 eigentlich nur gekauft, weil es mich erinnerte, wie ich während meiner Schulzeit den "Goldenen Topf" von E.T.https://www.bier-index.de/biere/eta-hoffmann-dunkles-lagerbier.html#all-ratingsA. Hoffmann lesen und interpretieren musste. Da ich absolut nichts von dem verworrenen Schreibstil verstand und es auch noch kein großes Wikipedia gab, kassierte ich gleich einmal eine Fünf (in Österreich die schlechte Note).
Das Bier ist ein bayrisches Dunkles mit malzigen Körper und leicht hopfigen Spitzen. Der dunkle, leicht brotige Kern verleiht dem Bier zusätzlich zum Namen eine gewisse Schwere und Würde.
Ein gutes Bier mit einer netten Beigeschichte.

Draught at Zum Fransiskaner Stockholm. Big, fluffy, long lastning light brown head. Clear red brown color. Mild roasted aroma. Roasted malt taste with a touch of dark caramell . Tiny sweetness and well fermenterad. Balanced body and bitterness.

Pretty good body for a dunkel lager. The flavour is mild and not too roasted, but yet quite balanced and enjoyable. D&S Dresden
