Maine Beer Peeper Ale

Maine Beer Peeper Ale

An American-style ale brewed one barrel at a time. The malt bill is built on American two-row malt and accented by crystal 10, Vienna, and white wheat malts. Magnum hops give the beer a nice clean bittering and Amarillo, Cascade, and Centennial hop varieties provide a pleasant floral and citrusy hop flavor. A healthy dose of additional Amarillo and Centennial are dry hopped to give this beer an inviting hop aroma. The beer is fermented with a neutral yeast strain and allowed to dry out so it finishes crisp and clean.

Note: Formerly known as Spring Peeper.

4.0 Pale yellow pour, slightly tinted, massive, meringue like head, stable. Nose is aggressively pungent, pine, grass, florals and an edge of funk. Creamy feel with a peppery bite, perfect balance, clean. A little watery in the back. Great beer!
3.3 Pours hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma of grass and floral nights, light citrus notes. Taste has light malt with a smattering of grassy hop notes, light hints of pine. Palate is watery, slightly bready. Good.
3.8 Taste at Trail's End. Pours a clear, straw color, with a medium, frothy, white head. The nose is resin, butterscotch, thyme, and papaya. Sweet and creamy, with a smooth, mild bitterness. Light to medium body, with a crisp, clean finish. This is a simple pale ale, but quality.
3.7 Clear pale golden appearance with a lasting white head. Aroma of grassy hops, lemon zest, mild floral notes and light wheaty grains. Similar flavor, adding mild hop bitterness and a light malty sweetness. Light to medium body with a clean citrusy hop finish. Well done.
3.6 Clear golden color with a white head. Citrus orange aroma. Lemon citrus upfront with a crisp bitter finish. Light body.
3.9 Bottle. Pours golden with a white head. Notes of pine, spices, grassy bitterness, citrus.
3.5 From tap. Clear pale golden color with white head. Hoppy and malty aroma, floral, spicy, grass, citrus. Sweet and bitter taste. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.

3.1 Pours clear canary with a thick and fairly persistent porcelain head. Aroma gives crisp fresh malt, piney hops and a hint of citrus. Flavor delivers piney hops, crisp and tangy malt, a tart citrus undertone. Texture offers decent body and perky fizz. Take a peep - then a sip.
3.9 On tap at fake Cheers. Pale straw pour with a nice frothy cap. Lots of dry citrus on the nose, crackery Vienna malt. Taste is very dry, fairly light, but eminently drinkable. Long dry finish. Very nice.
4.0 29Sep2019 Light floral bitterness, citrus fruits, orange and grapefruit peel. Slightly hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light bitter. Bitter citrus peel continues, orange, grapefruit, wet straw, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Very nice, superbly balanced. Bottle from St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe.
3.7 DATE: August 11, 2019... OCCASION: after a great get-together with the roommates, I returned with enough Peeper to evaluate its greatness... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... since the growler cap almost blew out of my hand, I am going to assume this was well sealed between yesterday and today... as such, its head actually grows after it is poured into an off-white cluster of bubbles... its body is a golden yellow, slightly opaque haze with tons of miniature bubbles clinging to the glass... malts are solid, semi-sweet and suggesting some semblance of balance... the show is its triple-headed hop monster, each filling the gap of the others where necessary (grapefruit, orange/lemon, mango) to suggest a lightly resinous, super fruity ale that keeps within its 5.5&% ABV...its mouthfeel is slammable, light yet active at the teeth, sharp and lightly textured at the throat... did I overuse light? it strikes like a champagne, bubbly and sweet... its citric profile is strong and clean, with orange, lemon, grapefruit, and mango, with suggestions of lilac, chamomile, and floral accents... hay and grass make this a hop-forward creation... a good overall experience, perfect for hanging with good friends, pairing with roast beef, or simply sipping as an evening finisher--but not to be confused with Maine's finer offerings...
3.8 Draft at Parker Mansion. Pours cloudy gold with a thin whites head. Huge citrus smells. Tastes crisp clean balanced with a short tart finish after above average carbonation. Very drinkable.
3.8 Bottle(500ml). Golden with white head that fades to a thin foam that lasts and lasts. Aroma is nice floral/citrus, but somewhat muted. Might have been stronger if not a 2 month old bottle. Taste is very interesting with nice citrus flavors and a pepper like finish. Will buy again.
3.6 Touch brutal, out of nowhere. Like when that slightly odd co-worker launches in with an out-of-the-blue racist joke in general conversation.
3.8 From a bottle. Look - yellow pour with a white foamy head. Does not look like a pale ale. Aroma - Citrus, floral. More of a subtle IPA. Taste - The citrus and floral are there, lemon peel and grains way back. A really good beer. Reminds me of Yellow Rose from Lone Pint Brewery.
3.4 On tap at Industry City. Pours hazy gold. Orange, peach, cereal, apricot. Medium body. Fine.
4.1 Clear light golden with a thin white foamy head. Lightly hoppy aroma that’s got some Lemongrass and floral tones and a light grassiness. Crisp light pale flavor that’s got a light crackery base and a light grassy lemongrassy bitterness and a crisp, zingy hop finish. Light lingering citrus rind.
4.1 500ml bottle. Bright grapefruit citrus aroma with floral and grass. Pours clear, pale golden colored with one finger of soapy, white head that has excellent retention but little lacing. Starts with grapefruit citrus and grassy hop flavors. Finishes dry, crisp and clean with some floral hop flavors. Refreshing pale.
3.7 on tap at the Hulmeville Inn - cloudy yellow color. Nice hop aroma. Slightly bitter hop flavor with a little spiciness.
3.8 It pours yellow with some haze. It has a white pillow head. Head retention is excellent. It has subtle floral, citrus and lemon aromas with pepper mixed in. There are some background grainy sweetness to it as well. The initial flavors are lemon and peppers. The floral, citrus, and grainy sweetness are in support. It has a medium body with moderate bitterness that has a slight twinge of harshness. Overall, a very flavorful beer. The pepper and citrus flavors work well together without being overbearing.
3.4 on tap chiara leggera velatura discreta schiuma leggero agrume secca medio medio amaro discreta intensita piuttosto pulita ma non emozionante
3.7 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head. Aroma was herbal & floral with citrus, pine and grass. Flavor was clean and crisp with pale malts, citrus, pine, grass, grapefruit and light lemon.
3.5 Was expecting something better. Hops are grassy, floral, and tannic bittered. Caramel malt.
4.2 Hazy golden color with a rocky white head. Grassy, herbal, and floral hop aromas. Medium body. Moderate bitterness on the palate. Leans towards slightly hoppy in the overall balance. Not overly sweet but just enough caramel malt there. Hint of the Vienna on the palate as well. Masterfully done.
3.4 Dry finish. Lemon grass. Coats the side of the mouth fairly well. MAybe a little more malt fullnes would balance better but maybe thats not desired either.
3.2 Hazy, pale yellow color. Citrus nose. Bitter and pale taste. Bright hop presence but not overpowering. Malt varietals have a unique taste.
4.0 Hazy , yellow color. Big , white head. Citrus , bread and herbs in the aroma. Strong and pleasant hoppy bitterness in taste. Crispy and easy to drink.
