Maine Beer Woods & Waters

Maine Beer Woods & Waters

Woods & Waters IPA is a special, small batch beer, brewed to commemorate the establishment of the Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument. We incorporated Maine-grown barley and wheat from @blueoxmalthouse in Lisbon Falls, Maine, along with generous amounts of American hops with flavors and aromas of pine and citrus.

4.0 Pours hazy with dark gold color. Nice head. Hop aroma is complex, a bit of that NEIPA aroma but not so much to make me gag. I like this beer and all of the Maine Beer Company's beers ... the balance in the recipe is just fabulous. I'm going to back up my car and fill the trunk on Monday.
3.7 16.9 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy light gold with a medium white head. Aroma of barley, hops and faint grapefruit. Taste of barley, grapefruit and hops.
3.8 Pale yellow color pour with a fair white head and nice lacing. Light pine and citrus aroma with pine and grapefruit notes. Moderately bitter.
3.8 Good, lightly yellowish head, fed by fine carbonation in coldhazed golden beer. Citrus, fresh green leaves, lupulin, nectarine, melons... very nice smell. Bitter-fruity flavours, bananapeel, lupulin, slightly unripe fruit. Finish has some other grains. Refreshing, light body, hiding the alcohol very well. Good carbonation. Nice one!
3.9 Bottle from D&Q. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is dank, grapefruit, resin. Slick body, grapefruit, pine, oily, lingering resin finish, very nice.
3.7 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and lemongrass. Flavor of pine, grapefruit rind, biscuit, citrus and lemon.
3.8 500ml bottle. Hazy golden, big white head. Aroma of fresh citrus fruits, orange, grapefruit. Taste is piney, fresh citrus, grapefruit, orange, zesty, pithy bitterness, resin, malts. Medium body.
3.6 50 cl bottle. Bottled on 21.04.2020. Pours clear pale golden color with a large white head. Citric aroma, lots of hops, piney notes, faint grapefruits, distant herbal tones. Flavor is citric fruity, oily and somewhat resinous hoppy and bitter, mild malty tones, the citrus lingers on the aftertaste. Refreshing though a bit light palate IPA, a bit disappointing overall. 3415
4.1 Bottled 04/21. This one's right up my alley... pours a really nice cloudy light golden with a sticky white cap that laces. Aroma are kind of mild with just a bit of both citrus and pine - smells like it's going to be watery - wrong! Flavors pop with freshness bringing both citrus and pine in balance with delicious malts. Medium mouthfeel and finish is slightly dry with a slight lingering bitter. Makes me want a lot more but $8/bottle is a little ridiculous.
3.9 Clear, bright golden appearance with a fluffy white head. Aroma of fresh pine, floral hops, mild citrus and a light herbal spice. Similar flavor, adding mild hop bitterness and a light grainy sweetness. Medium body with a clean feel and slight dry finish. Nice IPA.
3.6 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellow. Lemon, floral, cereal, grapefruit, light tangerine. Medium body. Decent.
3.5 Straw pour, foamy white head. Grassy, lemony aroma, some orange and pine.Taste follows, fresh, pottish, a bit soapy.
3.7 Clear golden color with a white head. Citrus mango pineapple aroma. Lemon grass citrus crisp flavor. Medium light body.
5.0 Light - and perfect
4.0 Bottle at home with Caressa, Apollo, and the wife. Pale yellow with a bit of chill haze. The aroma is citrusy hops, lime. Medium bodied, grapefruit and chalky mineral notes, dry well attenuated finish, bright and hoppy. Really nice .
4.0 Bottle, 1.5 months old. Beautiful hazy gold pour, with a steamed milk cap that lasts forever. Pine/cedar/floral/soapy hops, with some nice lemony citrus notes. Chewy, bitter, resinous taste, like an old school New England IPA. Very good.
3.7 On tap at Fortnight in downtown Providence, RI. Lightly cloudy straw-yellow, 1.5-inch frothy white head. Aroma is dank onion top with some orange and mango, bit of grass and pine and balancing sweet floral nectar. Body is medium-light, starchy and watery, moderate carbonation, burn, coarseness, lightly fizzy. Flavor is medicinal / herbal grass and tree, bit of pine, moderate onion top, grapefruit rind, bit of balancing neutral malt sweetness, lightly bitter. Overall, a nice IPA, bordering on what a session IPA should be!
3.9 500 mL bottle. Pours clear golden with an ample white head. Smells of lemongrass hops, pine, biscuit malt, and a strong earthy and spicy hop aroma. Almost smells like brett. Tastes follows suit. Bright lemon hops quickly give way to pine and biscuit malt. Bitter immediately with a lasting pine aftertaste. Earthy and spicy finish. Medium body. Distinctive and flavorful. Another excellent IPA from Maine.
4.0 Appearance is a slightly hazy gold, with a lasting white head. Aroma pine, grass, and citrus. Flavour has prominent grapefruit and lemon but not overwhelming. Medium bodied without too much carbonation. Superior IPA.
3.6 Bottle from Binny's, Chicago. Pleasant fruity and floral aroma. We'll balanced taste of pine and resin, bitter finish. Solid IPA.
4.0 Bottle. Thanks ModeEngage. A cloudy pale yellow with a large, thick, foamy white head that lasts and laces well. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, lemon, light biscuit and herbal notes. Flavors are the same with bright grapefruit and lemon upfront followed by some bitter pine and herbal notes and finishing with a drying biscuity taste. Light plus bodied, smooth with a crisp, dry end.
3.5 16oz bottle at home. Pours a hazy bright light yellow, small white head. Colour looks more like a White Ale than an IPA. Citrus and piney nose. Grassy citrus and pine flavour. Nice easy finish
4.6 Bottle from Total Wine and More in Reston, VA Aroma: citrus, pine, floral Appearance: pale hazy golden with a huge white head Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness Mouthfeel: lively carbonation, slick feel, medium body, long finish delicious
3.8 500ml bottle. Grassy hop aroma with notes of grapefruit, herbal and floral hops. Pours clear, pale golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention but little lacing. Starts with grass and grapefruit hop flavors. Finishes dry, but still quite smooth with herbal and floral hop flavors. Simple, straight-forward IPA that is quite refreshing.
2.6 Bottle (Apr 23, 2019 bottling). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (lemon, melon, herbs), with light notes of onion and plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Dull aroma with some icky notes, and sour and watery in the mouth. Not very good.
3.6 Can pour with a light champagne color with aromas of cannabis. Soapy flavors up front with notes pine resin and a fade to notes of oatmeal and wheat.
4.1 Light yellow hazy IPA from a crowler. Not a really strong hop flavor but a smooth palette. The pine note is not a fresh cut pine but more like the resin that half dries after you cut a branch. The nose is very . . . Well it resembles a smokable that’s dissipating.
4.1 Pretty decent IPA with nice pine and earthy notes. Nice citrus notes too
3.8 2019-05-03 .
4.0 Bottle from Consumers Beverages. Slightly hazy yellow, foamy. Pine and citrus, caramel malts. Med-high carbo.
