Maisel & Friends Jeff's Bavarian Ale

Maisel & Friends Jeff's Bavarian Ale

My interpretation of a typical Bavarian wheat, refined with a little bit more hops and the intense aroma of our very own wheat beer yeast. Bold and surprising.

Typical but yet so different. Deep cassis notes mix with Oriental spices and create a fruity, spicy finish.

I invite you to enjoy a refreshing treat for all your senses.

Yours,
Jeff Maisel

3.3 0.75 l bottle. Pours hazy deep golden with minimal head. A: wheat, tangerine T: yeasty, sour fruits, orange peels, spices, medium body, bitter and lasting finish
3.5 23.06.2019. 0,75l Bottle. Citti-Markt Flensburg. In a three-pack together with a glas. Golden colour with white head. Very rich and with an oily texture. Strong with lots of alcohol. Sharp bitterness. Yeast, wheat, dough and bread. Cereal and grain. Alcohol.
3.4 I expect another from Weizenbock.. But it Beer Not Bad The color is amber-orange with a creamy white froth. Aroma: banana, carnation, citrus. yeast. The taste is fruity with sourness, spicy. Not bad, but It looks more like a Wheat IPA
3.7 0,75 l bottle served in my Spiegelau 0,7 l wheat beer glass. Unclear brown orange with a nearly two finger head. Ripe banana and chewing gum smell. Taste starts also with banana and chewing gum, wheat and yeast in the second row. Fruity alcoholic. Increasing dry bitterness. Really nice and enjoyable stuff.

3.5 0.75 cl bottle at Ai Sushi Bar (Bucharest). Rather fruity aroma, with sweet notes. Pouring dark amber-chestnut with a fairly persistent head. The flavour is pleasingly complex, with apple-fruit, some spice and some citrus. A sweetish but not cloying beer, with plenty of malt and some background bitterness, partly from the quite high ABV. The beer has quite a bit of body and is a good representative of the Weizenbock style. coming in large bottles suitable for sharing with 2-3 people.
3.7 New rating: 0.75 l bottle, best before October 2024. Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, gently yeasty-spicy, quite fruity aroma of banana, mango, orange, clove and some pine. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and fairly fruity taste of banana, clove, caramel, honey, mango, orange and pine, followed by a medium long, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth but rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Tasty Weizenbock IPA. Probably a fresher bottle than last time, maybe also with an enhanced recipe. 0.75 l bottle from local 'Trink & Spare', best before January 2021. Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of banana, clove, pear, some pineapple and hints of lemon peel. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and moderately fruity taste of banana, pear, vanilla, clove and some citrus, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally tart, gently yeasty-spicy finish. Almost full-bodied, smooth but quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Pleasant Weizenbock with a subtle hoppy-fruity touch. (7/3/7/4/14/3.5)
3.3 0,75 l Flasche. Bernsteinfarbenes, trübes Bier, cremeweißer Schaum. Intensiv malzig.
2.9 Amber, slightly cloudy - wonderful aroma, but the taste disappoints me. You get a noseful of apple, pear, a little banana, fruit brandy, some rum. On the tongue, there is gentle bitterness with a dry edge and very little sweetness - but all of it strangely thin. The beer seems overcarbonated and even a little salty.
3.0 Orange color, big foam size. Good beer, aroma and taste fit into the style.
4.5 (superbes robe, bouquet (abricot, moût raisin, banane, cassis) & bouche : pure-nat, orange, blé mûr-hop, excellent)
3.9 Full bodied, full of the wheat and bubblegum flavours, but high in abv so warm and balanced as well. Zapfanstalt dresden
Prost!
4.1 From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Playing Avadon 3. Very correct, with pleasant wheaty notes and well adjusted alcohol, giving it a nice touch without affecting head.In fact, it's fairly sessionable
3.5 Bottle @ camping. Darker hazy brown with a white head. Aroma medium malty (bread, caramel notes, light fruit), medium yeast (fruity). Flavor medium sweet, light sour/acidic, notes of cassis. Medium+ body.
4.0 Fles 75cl thuis. Hop, citrus, rood fruit, oosterse kruiden, fris. (8-2014).
3.7 Pours darker hazy brownish. Doughy fruity yeast aroma. Mouthfeel is slightly chalky, fruity sweet brew, easy drinking considering the 7%. Enjoyable weizenbock, but not on par with Vitus due to a general lack of character. Balanced anyways.
3.8 18.05.2018 -- 0.75l bottle from rewe in weil, 4.99€, bb 08.09.2019. pours a cloudy amber with a big off-white head. aroma of banana, dates, prunes, marzipan, caramel, spices. flavour of candy, pears, peaches, nutmeg, a hint of coffee.
3.3 Pours amber from the bottle. A frothy head lingers. Aroma is a mix of overripe plum, citrus, dough, bubblegum and caramel. Nuanced and interesting although ultimately not the most inviting. Taste is sweet with hints of bubble gum and toffee. A mild bitter to sour note rounds out the finish. Body is medium, carbonation is moderate. Interesting but ultimately something is missing to get the buy again rating.
3.8 Amber color, some bread in the nose. Rich mouthfeel. Brown sugar, some candy. Very nice
3.7 Date: 19/9/8. Pours a hazy orange gold with an inch or 2 of initial foam, shrinks very slowly, very nice lacing. Smells of caramel malt, wheat, light citrus, a bit of spice, some cloves and coriander. Caramel malt, big flavour of wheat, cloves, light fruity tartness. Hoppy as well with light citrus..orange peel? Nice mouthfeel, enjoyable sipping beer that I enjoy sipping because of the flavours, not because of intrusive alcohol.
3.0 Aromat weizenowy, goździk i banan z chlebową nutą. W smaku ciężkie, chlebowe, dość słodkie, nieco alkoholowe.
3.2 Bottle. Pours unclear amber. Aroma is strong overripe banana and berries, booze and spices. Body is heavy, strongly sweet and rather bitter, with hints of acidity and a decent carbonation as a (too light) counterbalance. Boozy, and overdone banana. Surprisingly dry palate. Quite good, yet unbalanced and not harmonic.
4.1 0,75l bottle. Cloudy copper colour with disappearing off-white head. Aroma: Banana, flour, honey and floral notes with light caramel and dough. The main notes are disappearing with some time. Taste: Very sweet a thick malty/wheat start with very soft sourish tones and an almost not exicting bitter motuhfeel. Has a little bit Buttery texture. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Medium lasting sweet and softly bitter finish. A dessert wheat beer for the cold weather. I liked it.
3.2 0.75 l bottle shared at home. Pours murky brown and white head. Nose is moderate weizen—like aroma: fruity and yeasty. The taste follows the aroma: fruity, grainy with hints of yeast. Sweetish finish, light body, soft carbo. Not bad, but nothing outstanding either.
3.0 750 ml bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber with a small fluffy head. Lots of herbal notes and spices, pine, hay, clove, pear and apricot. Quite bitter for a Weizenbock. Creamy texture, full bodied, lively carbonated. Too bitter for me.
3.8 Schaum: dicht, Recht beständig Farbe: trübes Bernstein. Nase: sehr karamelliges Malz.
