Maisel & Friends Marc's Chocolate Bock

Maisel & Friends Marc's Chocolate Bock

My interpretation of an Irish stout, with an extra portion of choice barley, special and aromatic malts to give the beer its distinctive full-bodied flavor.
A robust beer of deep, dark color with an aroma of roasted malt combined with the taste of sweet caramel, delicious dark chocolate notes and a hint of wild berries.

Sit back and enjoy a firework of flavors and aroma.

Yours,
Marc Goebel

3.7 Nice aroma of strong chocolate, malt, dark fruit Dark body with small lasting head. A lot of sediment though :(( Nice taste of barley, dark malt, chocolate, plums, and mild caramel Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation Nice!
3.8 Dark with small brownish head. Smell of malt and chocolate. Taste of barley, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and dades. Very oily. Unfortunately our version had too much sediment, but a very good and tasteful beer.
4.1 Bottle Aroma-caramel, chocolate, bread Appearance-dark ruby, clear, tan head Taste-medium sweetness, light sourness, bitterness Palate-medium body, slick, average carbonation, long finish Overall-very good
4.0 Barwa ciemna, z rubinowymi refleksami, klarowne. Piana drobno-pęcherzykowa, beżowa, niestety opada dość szybko. Piękny słodowy aromat z nutami palonymi i czekoladowymi, wyczuwalna też kawa i karmel. W smaku słodowość, paloność, posmak kawowo-czekoladowy.
3.3 Dark brown beer with a vigorous head that also quickly goes away. It's listed as a bock but for me it is a stout. Roasty malt and caramel with hints of chocolate and blackberries. In the finish some hops and some orange peel. A tasty beer but a bit thin
4.2 Birra nera, schiuma color cioccolato.
3.1 #3649 Clear, ruby to brown, medium beige head. Chocolate aroma, cocoa, caramel, dates, prunes. Taste is insipid, lightly sweet, lightly bitter, toasted malts, prunes, dark fruit, chocolate. Medium body and carbonation.
3.5 Black color with large creamy light brown mostly lasting head. Aroma is roasted malt with notes of chocolate. Sweet and spicy flavor. Bitter finish. Creamy palate.
3.3 Bottle 0.75l. Clear, dark red to brown colored. AROMA- dark fruit and jam, dates, chocolate, apple. FLAVOR- quite smooth, neutral, moderately bitter, chocolate, toffee, touch of fruit and jam, cocoa powder, prunes. Medium bodied. Not bad.
3.4 Bottle picked up from AEZ, Dachau and consumed in Frank (camper) at Campingplätz Bannewaldsee, nr Schwangau Saturday 23rd November 2019 listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6 Music. We had another walk today this time from the campsite into Füssen via the southern edge of Forggensee. Pours murky dark brown with a beige head. Lots of chocolate on the nose and definitely chocolate in the mouth, pretty full flavoured, soft carbonation, it's a good stout.
3.0 75cl fles. Helder donker robijnrood van kleur, fijne romige creme schuimkraag. De geur is rook en chocolade. Smaak is zoet, licht chocolade, licht gerookt en licht karamel. Medium body, veel koolzuur.
3.4 0.75 l bottle from local 'Trink & Spare', best before October 2020. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a bit roasty aroma of caramel, cocoa powder and toasted nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of cocoa powder, caramel and toasted nuts, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, powdery and minimally earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid stuff but lacks balance and complexity.
3.1 Nose. Malt, roasted malt, notes of chocolate, coffee and even wine. Very high quality! Taste. The body is of medium density. The taste is dry malt, with notes of burnt malt, coffee and chocolate, nuts. The finish is dry. Great balance.
4.0 04.07.2019. 0,75l Bottle. Citti-Markt Flensburg. In a three-pack together with a glas.Black colour with off-white head. Roasted dark malt. Light burnt. Pretty rich with a solid body. Nice alcohol touch. Soft bitterness with a very good aftertaste of dark malts, coffee, brown sugar, Brown rum and some sweet dark chocolate.
3.8 Dark chocolate brown with a huge head. Sweet cocoa roast aroma. Wow, fantastic flavor, great balance of sweet chocolate coffee roast, bitterness balances well with the sugars. Drink with a bowl of vanilla ice cream...
4.1 Edo niko
4.0 75cl bottle from Edeka, Rothenburg. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, beige head; lots of lacing. Aroma of burnt caramel, roasted peanut, milk chocolate, dried banana, orange peel, tea leaves, mocha, raisin, brambleberries. Taste is medium malty sweet, caramel in a slightly burnt way next to dried banana, orange peel & forest fruit (berries, raisin - making it a tad sourish) wrapped in dough; light herbal bitter then, dried tea leaves on fondant with a toasty & nutty edge. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, lingering nuts, fondant, not too sweet caramel, and subtle warming kahlua-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Rich, full, tasty, Stout-ish Bock.
Aromat czekolady i słodu palonego, trochę karmelu. W smaku czekoladki, karmel, suszone owoce, przypieczona skórka chleba, nuty palone.
Sabores torrefactos, galleta, caramelo, regaliz y toffe. Retrogusto claro a chocolate.

3.5 0.75 bottle. Chocolate aroma, roasted malt. Clear dark brown color with minimal sized off-white head. Chocolate taste, lots of cocoa, milk, bit roasty. Medium body, soft carbonation. Milk chocolate finish.
3.7 75cl bottle at home. Dark brown bock, creamy beige head. Nice chocolate notes, alongside sweet and creamy roasted malty moccha, vanilla, sugary, some dried fruit, especially in the nose; taste is more bitter and actually quite boozy. Medium body and carbonation.
3.4 0,75 l Flasche. Schwarzes Bier, cremefarbener Schaum, perfekte Optik. Röstaromen, Kaffee, dunkle Schokolade.
3.7 The name says it's a 'chocolate bock', but the label stresses that it is inspired by Irish stouts - I'll go with the latter description, which seems more apt. The aroma is strong: sweet and summery (fresh cherries) at first, followed by prunes, some coffee and a smokey-sharp whiskey edge. On the tongue, bitterness and sweetness seem very well balanced. Intensity is medium - allowing some 'juiciness' (this one is possibly even a good thirst-quencher, despite its warm, alcoholic finish). Quite a delicious beer.
