3.7 Bottle @Bir&Fud Bottega (Rome). Bruna, intensa, schiuma beige media. Al naso note di lievito, nocciola, frutta rossa, canditi, caramello, leggera liquirizia. In bocca è dolce, caramellosa, con chiusura amara e leggera acidità. Corpo pieno, carbonazione forse un po' troppo accentuata. Ok.

4.0 Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Pours a dark chestnut brown colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, toffee, molasses and hints of floral. Taste has more dry dark fruits, caramel, toffee, molasses, floral with hints of plums and a little brown sugary sweetness, not too sweet just the right amount. Alcohol extremely well hidden for the strength. Medium to full body with a fizzy mouthfeel. Just the right amount of carbonation balances out the sweetness perfectly. Very nice top quality Quad.

4.2 Dark brown beer with a thick brown head. Aromas of liquorice and red fruits. The body is medium to full. Warming but not alcoholic, which is remarkable considering its high alcohol content. Nice fruity flavors. Red fruits, some vanilla and roasted notes. Quite smooth. Subtle sweetness. Slightly hoppy finish. Well balanced. Nice.

4.2 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£4.09): Dark caramel to mahogany with a 1cm, bubbly head that's tan-brown & covers the surface well with nice retention too. It's rich on the nose with cloves, a banana sweetness & some yeast initially with dates, plums & a few dried, dark fruits to finish. The taste is dark, semi-sweet & fairly complex with plum, raisins, a little yeast & faint touches of banana this time alongside some ripe fruits & spices nearer the end. It's a full-bodied, lively beer with strong carbonation & a good balance with the alcohol content very well hidden too.

3.9 Bottle at home, 2nd May 2020. Pours a chestnut brown. Aroma is molasses and caramel. Taste is typical Belgian Quad, caramel, dark fruit and sweet. It’s enjoyable, if not distinctive, also powerful. Good

4.3 Color marrón muy oscuro, prácticamente negro, opaca. Espuma marfil de tres dedos de espesor y excelente retención, no llega a desaparecer nunca. Aroma intenso y complejo, maltas tostadas, frutas desecadas, sobre todo ciruelas y uvas pasas, también higos e incluso dátiles, suave licor, caramelo y azúcar moreno. Sabor igualmente intenso, maltas tostadas, licor, caramelo, frutas pasas, vino, y, al atemperar, notas de chocolate antes que en el posgusto el licor y el alcohol lo domine todo, algo, por otra parte, esperable. Textura semioleosa. Carbonatación media. Espectacular, si tuviera algo menos de carbonatación debería buscar un adjetivo más adecuado, quizá algo cercano a perfecto.

4.2 Dark brown with a two centimetre thick head. Smell of roasted malts with a cocoa note. At the attack chocolate and caramel, later red berries stick out. A nice drink.

4.4 Bottle at poechenellekelder. Pours very dark amber brown with a residing head. Scent is mild burnt toast and dry malt. Taste is lovely brown sugar caramel fizzy brown ale. Mildly acidic. Very great.

Rijke mout, gedroogd fruit, een vleugje nagellak, verwarmende alcohol. Redelijk goed. Mondgevoel: gemiddeld koolzuur Totaal: mooi (lees: ZALIG) bier, zeker geen "ongeluk"!

3.9 Copenhagen 9/2 2020. 33 cl bottle from Ølhandleren from Give (Webshop). Very orange label with a big triangle with a crack formed like lightning. Looks a bit like the record cover from a hard rock album from the eighties. Boasting a gold World Beer Award. Pours clear dark brown with a red hue. Big off-white head. Settles as p,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is intense, laden with heavy sweet fruit and with a notable presence of alcohol. Brown sugar, banana, hints of marzipan. Dark fruits marinated in alcohol. Yeasty odor of basement. Light carbonation. Medium thick, fat, smooth, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is heavy sweet with only a very light but spicy bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a light boozy burn in the finish. As a Quadrupel should be. Strong, sweet and packed with alcohol. Just like a hard rock record from the eighties.

4.0 Donker bruin bier met een licht bruine schuimkraag. Het bier smaakt honing achtig zoet en heeft een karamel achtig aroma. Daarnaast is het lekker kruidig en heeft iets zacht bloemigs.

4.0 This is the beer I gave to my volleyball colleagues last night for my annual Christmas gift extravaganza, since it is my favorite style. Quite strong, could be sweeter, a weak 4.0 or a strong 3.9.

4.0 Misty deep brown with a large beige head. Aroma: special malts, dried fruit, light nail polish. Full body. Taste: medium sweet. Rich malts, dried fruit, a hint of nail polish, warming alcohol. Fairly good. But pretty basic.

4.1 Bottiglia. Color mogano, nebulosa, riflessi rubino e testa di schiuma non molto abbondante, di modesta persistenza. Aroma molto fruttato, di frutti rossi, cioccolato e qualche nota di caramello bruciato. Al palato consistenza media (un po' leggera per lo stile), carbonazione presente, molto dolce con qualche cenno legnoso e di torrefazione. Notevole.

3.6 Roodbruin bier met volle beige schuimkraag. Smaken van rood fruit. Volle smaak met redelijk zoete aanzet. Vlot doordrinkbaar voor een bier dat toch sterk is in alcohol.

4.0 Clear ruby color with lacing tanned head. Aroma has raisins, ripe fruits, caramel and spices. Taste is malty sweet with long sweet aftertaste. Flavors of ripe fruits, raisins, chocolate, coffee and spices.

3.6 Elle est brune. Une mousse reste en place longuement. Des arômes de désinfectant en émanent, mais aussi d'épices, de bois sec et de sucre. Après un certain temps, c'est plus positif. Les saveurs ressemblent aux odeurs. C,est savonneux, légèrement amer, herbacé et passablement sucré. Il y a des pointes grillées.
