Malheur Bière Brut / Reserve

Malheur Bière Brut / Reserve

Malheur Bière Brut "à la méthode originale" is an exclusive rich beer with 11% alcohol by volume, bottled and refermented up to three times in the bottle. Malheur has succeeded in developing a process whereby the yeast is collected in the bottleneck. The yeast is frozen and removed using the "dégorgement" process whereby only the ambient pressure in the bottle is used to force the yeast out again. The result is a refined sparkling beer with a lively head and elegant aftertaste. Beer guru Michael Jackson described Malheur Bière Brut as a new "World Classic", suitable as an aperitif, dessert or digestive: strong but silky-smooth, with a powerful, dry aftertaste, very aromatic, velvety peach and rose, apricot, vanilla, orange, lemon rind, strongly bound and quietly controlled.

4.5 Fles 75cl thuis. Lekkere warme smaak, goede balans. Zacht en toch heel licht scherp. (2-2013).
4.0 F: huge, white, good retention. C: blonde to pale gold, clear. A: citrus, lemon peels, hay, bit vanilla, herbal, apple, spicy. T: very high carbonation but goes to very smooth mouthfeel, fruity, bready, yeasty, bit honey, bit vanilla, peach, bit orange, bit dried fruits, floral, nice complex full body, excellent example champagne BSA, 75cl bottle from Delhaize Chazal @ Schaerbeek in Brussels.
4.0 väldigt god, som en trippel. inte perfekt.
3.7 75cl bottle split with my dad and brother in law. Appearance: gusher! Clear golden with big white head and lots of carbonation visible. Aroma: very sweet. apricot, peach, raisins, red apple, tutti frutti, white wine. Taste: medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of raisins, sweet malts, dried apricots, tutti frutti. Quite vinous. Finish is a bit dry. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and lively carbonation.
4.3 Sediment floatin around, hazy gold. Head is huge then dissipates and its not as attractive. Strong sweet yeast aroma of of marzipan, banana, and honey sweet malts. Sugary cough syrup mouthfeel, taste is dominated, similar to aroma, by sweet marzipan and banana, warming booze and dry champagne like fizziness. Finish is dry and surprisingly hoppy. More almonds. Gushed big time, loads of soapy head. Delicious and great for the occasion, my Mom’s 65th birthday, but for some reason I preferred Deus. Exciting, somewhat novelty beer. Even more exciting how its made than the final product, but still a great beer that brings the good times. 11% and you’ll get a head change pretty quick, probably the high co2, but not present in the taste. Special.
3.4 Bue en bouteille de 75cl. Grosse effervescence à l’ouverture. Mousse blanche épaisse, bière jaune dorée. CO2 ++. Nez alcooleux, agrumes.
Bra champagnealternativ. Mycket gott!
4.5 hazy pale yellow colour, huge and quite stable white head; aroma of peach, coriander, orange zest, earthy and floral notes as well as hints of vanilla; taste is the same with honey sweetness; great Belgian strong ale!
4.3 750 ml cork bottle opened with loud pop bought at IC Beer in Kwun Tong. Looks: Clear golden honey colour; Explosive four finger head with lasting soapy white foam; Excellent sticky lacing with very fizzy carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet malt, with strong orange, strong apricots, peaches, vanilla, honey, bubblegum, floral nectar, sugar, bread, strong Bel yeast, strong wine yeast, strong lemon peels and grass. Great stuff! Taste: Strong sweet Pils malt, with strong alcohol, liquorices, orange, yellow fruits, floral, sugar, spices, herbs, vinery, strong wine yeast, strong lemon, quite strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Medium body Quite dry and slick palate. Mouth Feel: Full Pils maltyness in a solid velvety background, with some champagne smoothness but malty all the time. Hard-hitting booze and liquorices come first followed by orangey ester and floral. Strong but nice vinery sweetness, pretty spicey and herbal with strong lemon to round. Very nice! Booze and sweetness: the 11% abv is pretty head on, pretty with accompanying liquorices. Tasty but better go slow if you don’t want to get knocked out quickly. Honey-like swwet taste, strong but not cloying. Yum! Hoppiness: Floral nectar, strong lemon peels and grass in nose. Spices, herbs, floral, strong lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness – liquorices and hops - is quite strong for a lasting, close to high astringent sweet-bitter finish. After Taste: Dry. Sweet, very boozy and bitter to mouth. Comments: Compare to the much hyped Deus Brut des Flandres, this is the real deal - exceptional bubbly head and warming colors, great, lively fruity and honey aroma, malty but white winey taste. Booze is a tad strong, but matches with its strong nature with nice lemony hoppiness. A damn nice Champagne beer for great occasions, and I am glad to have this to celebrate the advent of 2017. Happy New Year!
3.6 Sample, Yellow beer, huge head. Aroma is yeast, citrus, some flora. Taste is the same, some alcohol, fizzy, not bad.
4.0 Flaska från Beernavigator drucken med ölföreningen. Stor, elegant, krispig och estrig. Liknar en stor trippel. Blommig, lätt kryddig, aningen tvålig, jästig estrar men stram trots tydlig sötma. Bra champagnealternativ. Riktigt gott.
3.8 Bottle at Cafe Sara, march 5th 2016. Hazy orange body, big white head. Aroma is malty with fruity yeast esters, mild alcohol, taste of tangerine, sweet pastry, flowery, with a dry rick yeasty finish. Quite nice

4.1 Kolor jasno ?ó?ty, z pomara?czowymi refleksami, jest nieznacznie m?tny. Piana bia?a, ogromna, wysoka i bardzo trwa?a. Zbudowana jest z drobnych i kilku wi?kszych b?bli.Aromat owocowy, pomara?cza, s?odkie brzoskwinie, lekkie nuty kwiatowe.
3.7 Shared large 2007 bottle with a BB date of 2008). Hazy dark amber body with varied size sediment floating about. Looks past its prime and very likely is past its prime. Still the flavor, smell and feel are very good. Loads of dark fruit; good complexity; very well hidden alcohol. Hints of wood (cork)?
2.4 Veel te veel schuim. Smaakt vreemd, zoet, prikkerig.. Gek, niet echt lekker. Brut
3.2 Mega gusher. Heldere gouden kleur met een mega kraag. Ruikt fruitig, citrus, kruiden. Smaakt zoetig, alcohol ,kruiden
Ruikt zoet, kruidig, citroen. Smaakt banaan, kruidig, zoet, citroen. Typisch belgisch.
3.3 Bottle at Brugge beer festival 2016, Brugge, Belgium. A golden coloured pour with a huge white head on top. Fruity, yeasty, spice aroma. Tastes fruity, yeasty, spice, slightly tart. I can’t really get on with these chmpagen beers but it is still OK.
3.7 Refrigerated 75 cl green bottle, bottled in January 1, 2009, poured into a Trappist. Aroma is beautiful floral malt, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick small bubble lacing. Taste is malt, floral, and slightly bitter finish.
3.7 Lys bru tåkete med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter karamell, champagne, honning og korn. Middels fylde. Søt start, lett bitter og noe alkohol og vanilje.

3.8 Bottle (11/14). Golden, well carbonated. Spicy fruity estery nose. Belgian yeastyness, florals, perfumy notes, pale golden malts. Full bodied, quite smooth. Spicy floral. Some sweetness. Flavour, quite easy drink. Well balanced, fine. -- bb
