3.6Bottle at gollem.
Pours clear blonde. Good white head, smell is sharp malty.
Taste is bitter, sharp, maltsweetness, very high carbo. Bit perfumed, but not nearly as much as other champagne beers. Tastes a bit like a tripel
3.9Bottle 0.75l taste sample at Malheur stand Horeca Expo Ghent Belgium 2014.Pour it hazy orange color with small white head.On the nose peach.Taste and aroma of peach, apricot, lots of different fruits, wooden barrel, little bit malty at the end.Dry.Good one
3.6Bottle 750ml @ home
Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits, alcohol, floral, sugar and hint of yeast. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, floral and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is fizzy
3.6A vivid, golden beer with a big and blond head. The aroma is fruitful and slightly aromatic, some citrusfruits, spices and flowers, hint of honey and alcohol. Taste is fruitful, spices, some alcohol in the end. Medium bodied, too much of carbonation, but that calms down after whirling. Spicy and fruitiful beer but it could be more complex and alcohol should be hidden better. Straightforward without sophistication of the external habitus. Good beer even the some criticism.
3.6Bottle. Pours golden in color with a whitish head. Notes of wood, garden apples, old cellar and sweet honey in aroma. Lemon, white wine grapes and notes of sweetness in taste. Fruityness and also champagne like notes in the end, which then takes a turn into more sweet fruits and has a bitter
finish.
4.0Big foamy champagne-like head, bright light golden colour full of bubbles. Light aroma, just a little sweet yeast and malt. Quite complex taste with champagne fruity yeasts, sweet malty tones reminiscent of a triple ale. Dry but rounded aftertaste and mouthfeel. Lively carbonation, good body tastewise but light. I like the Deus better, which has more complexity imo, but this very nice too.
3.6Another of De Landtsheer’s champagne beers, launched in 2005 to celebrate the 175th birthday of the nation of Belgium. Cream white, firm, thick, crackling head, light yellow blonde colour, clear with tiny yeast bits floating around. Pale malts in the nose, green apple, some pineapple, lemon peel, dry sherry, vanilla, mint, rose petals, fennel, nutmeg. Light and rounded ’pils malts’ onset, apple, dry with spritzy ’champenoise’ carbonation as expected from the style, spicy notes, bit earthy, sherry- and even saison-like with subtle sourness and equally subtle saltiness, finishing in grassy and peppery hop bitterishness, alcohol well hidden. Notably dryer than its predecessor, a great apéritif and interesting, but honestly speaking, I had expected a more luxurious edition of Malheur Bière Brut to celebrate the birthday of our beery nation...
2.9750ml cork and a wire bottle with a golden neck. Ordered through bestillingsutvalget at Vinmonopolet. Shot followed by smoke when opened. A fair white head to a misty golden body. Wheat and ripe fruits on the nose. Mid-sweet taste of yellow apples, banana, peach and bread. Rather sweet fruity ending. Foamy in the mouth. Partially refreshing, far from great though (shared with Finn and djoeye, Tromsø 05.08.2014).
2.9Bøkeholt-sjampanje; knalt een pop, rook, kleine uitbarsten, luister. Gebroken wit schuim, grote kroon. Modderig gouden lichaam.

Gylden. Grumsete. Lavt skum. Aroma av syrlige epler. Mye kullsyre. Smaken er også syrlige epler. Bra - men uvariert. OBS: Denne var noen måneder over dato. Kan ha hatt betydning for kvaliteten. Ble faktisk solgt av Polet i “utgått” tilstand.
3.7Bottle at Schouskjelleren, february 1st 2014. Cloudy blonde body with a lasting white head. Aroma of pears, hops, spicy yeast. Taste is light sweet with bread, banana, fruity hops. Light alcohol notes. Pleasant soft sweet spicy aftertaste with pear hints.
4.0On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway( on order). Golden color , good foam- slow gusher with sediments. Aromas of fruits, orange, some floral notes & very good yeast influence . Medium/ full body & complexity. Some sweetness- very well balanced. Very enjoyable
3.6Fles van 2009. fijn witte schuimkraag, verdwijnt snel. Gouden kleur.
Retrogosto curto.Alcool bem inserido.Um grande conjunto porém inferior a expectativa .
3.7From bottle at a tasting at Bar & Cigar. Clear golden with a large, fluffy, white head. Quite yeasty aroma with lots of fruits and berries, malt and just a hint of spices. Moderate sweet with nice carbonation. Moderate sweet with a surprisingly dry finish. Easy to drink and very refreshing. Nice one!
3.0750 ml bottle - taken from notes/ Pours clear hay yellow with a nice fine head. Aroma is yeast and malt, let it be refined. Taste is very mediocre, not tastign the special champagne character. Kind of dissapointing; lots ado about nothin i.e. lots of marketing for no taste... and expensive for what it is. Hate it!
3.775 cl bottle @ Poatersgat, Bruges.
Originally rated on 20100722.
Pours clear golden color with a medium sized head. Aroma of spices, citrus fruits, some toffee notes, caramelly malts and some yeast. Flavor of citrus fruits, ripe fruit notes, spices, yeast and some earth. Very nice but somewhat disappointing.
3.7Bottle. Aged around six years. Thanks to Kyoto Lefty. Yeast, lemony, funky aroma. Hazy yellow color with a very thin head. Mild citrusy initial / goes a bit flat in mid palate, flavors diminish / levels out into a light sugary final. Thin body. Tin body. Slight oxidation. Nice stuff.
3.7Bottled, 4 years past drink by date. Honey malt nose, some oxidation, peaches, esters, sweet orange, creamy. Lots of hoeny in the flavor, mead-like really. Light tangy barnyard flavors as well. Interesting and nice but not as good as the other two.
3.4Bottle from Belgianshop. Hazy orange color, white head. Crispy bitter taste with toast, citrus, earthy notes, ripe fruits, yeast and grapefruit. Dry bitter finish with toast. Nice experimental brew, very much like sparkling wine.
3.975 cl bottle @ Poatersgat, Bruges. Rated on 17.07.2010
Aroma has some apricot, boozy and floral notes. Flavour has apricot, citrus, Belgian yeast, sticky malt and some fruity notes. Good, but still a disappointment in Malheur Brut series.
4.2Remarkable flavor, characteristic of a long maturation. Bitterness in aroma and flavor which is elongated by hops.
4.015/VIII/2012 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Erwin’s BBQ - BB: 1/VIII/13 (2012-932)
Pretty clear yellow blond beer, some small sediment floating around under an aery off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit sugary, floral, some citrus, little grassy. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very spicy, gingerbread, cloves, (peperkoek, but that’s a Dutch/Belgian thing), some citrus, cloves again, somewhat sugary, bitter hops, chocolaty touch. Aftertaste: bitter hops, quite an alcohol burn, pretty spicy, some citrus again.
3.1Bottle shared (2005 vintage). Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, funky sour, and damp. Flavour is medium sweet, bitter and sour. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Far from the best Malheur I’ve tried but maybe just past it’s best.
3.3Bottle@tasting (2006), 75cl. Head: lots of white colored foam. Color: gold. Aroma: sour. Taste: some sour, bitter, mild. Palate: dry, lots of CO2, long lasting. Overall: at tasting only.
4.0Bottle:
Medium airy white head, disappears slowly, on top of a light cloudy yellow orange colored beer.
Smell old wood, yeast, green apple, pee, some malts, wild yeast, earth, some hints of friut like dried apricot and mango.
Taste green apples, yeast, wood, old wet wood, yeasty wood particles, some hops and light sharper hops but get taken right away by the woody character.
Aftertaste of grass, yeast, fresh cut/mown green grass, some hops, light hint of wood and floral.
Medium carbo, soft light creamy mouthfeel, full body and a light creamy texture.
Very nice beer! Well balanced and a lot of tasty wood.
3.3(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Oluttupa Viisi Penniä, 20120515) The beer poured hazy yellow. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, wood and honey. Palate was quite light bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, wood, honey and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, a bit boozy and bitter. Thin and boozy but not completely bad. The trippel flavours were nice.
4.3Pours light yellow with high and persistent head. High carbonation and slightly turbid with yeast on the bottom. Fruity and a little sour mouthfeel, has medium body not expected for a brut. Finishes alcoholic and sweet, with bitter notes after some minutes. Good rare brut and worth its price for a good experience.
3.675cl bottle vintage 2005, aged in my beer cellar.
Ok white head. Very hazy blond pour. Very nice!
3.9750 ml dark green "champagne" bottle, as Malheur Cuvée Royale Brut Reserve, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo (bought in October 2011). ABV is 9%. Hazy pale yellow colour, huge white head. Refined aroma of farmhouse (does that make sense?), farmhouse kitchen / brettanomyces, hints of oxidised fruits and mild spices. Crisp, medium dry and spicy flavour. Moderate hops. Well balanced, "refined" seems to be the right word for the flavour too. The alcohol is well hidden. Quite enjoyable.
