3.9 Very nice stout. Roasted malts, a bit sweet-sour-ness, bitterness af chocolate/coffee. Full bodied and a good after-taste.
3.7 330ml bottle. Very dark brown color. Peppery finish with long bitterness. A good stout.
3.7 Black body, small light brown head. Very nice roasted malty aroma with coffee, some ash, toast. Light to medium body. Dry, roasted malty flavour with some coffee.
3.7 Bottle at Puu in Tallinn. BB 02.03.2017. Seems black in the dimly lit bar. Creamy beige head. Nose is really roasty with herbal hints. Tastes roasty, black bread and red berry sourish. That gets slightly distracting in the end but doesn’t ruin the overall impression. Soft carbonation, full body and mouthfeel. Tingling bitter finish. Good stuff!
3.9 Bottle from dalry roaders tasting. Pours opaque dark brown. Nose of treacle, chocolate, mocha, coffee grind, malty. Taste is dark chocolate, pistachio, more mocha.
3.6 Bottle thanks to Nihtila. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - caramel and chocolate. Light biscuit. Honeycomb. Taste - more elements of Crunchie Bar. Burnt toffee and molasses. Palate - close to full bodied. Crunchy texture. Dry roast finish. Overall - a solid stout.
3.5 Bottle at Dalry Roadtrippers. Dark brown, brown head. Nose is dark malts, sweet roast, light coffee. Tastes dryish roast, coffee, plums, burnt malts. Ok
3.6 Bottle at appellation. Pours deep ruby brown, nose sugary, roasted, caramel, taste is chewy toffee, caramel, roasted malts.
3.4 Aroma; juicy roasted malts, wineous plums, black roasted malts, milk notes. Look; beige bumpy layer, ultra dark brown to black body n ruby tint, frosty lacing. Taste; coffee, wineous barley, juicy roasted malts, yeasty plum, black malts, spirits - leading to a roasted spirited plummy coffee finish. Feel; good body, natural carbonation. Overall; good stout, but high abv and many alcoholic notes in it. [33cl.btl abv8% BB;27/04/17 B@Vinmonopolet]
3.7 Donker rood...nog aardig wat licht zodat je de vele koolzuurparels ziet gaan, vrij helder, volle 3 vingers hoge licht crèmekleurige schuimkraag. Aroma: Chocolade, zoethout, geroosterde mout, zoetig donker fruit, stroop.Smaak: Eerste slok is veel chocolade ....gaat over in geroosterde droge smaak, zoethout, ietsje koffie...donker fruit, karamel en als laatste een aardige bitter... grassige florale bitter. Iets alcohol... alhoewel ik 8% niet merk. Mondgevoel is helaas iets waterig...iets dun, wel zacht.... Afdronk is droog en prikkelig bitter.Nice!
3.9 Schwarzes bier schöner cremiger schaum, Geruch malzig leichte röstaromen säuerlich, Geschmack schon rund kräftige röstaromen säure dunkle schokolade nussig Nougat wenig Kaffee herber Abgang, schönes bier
3.7 Bottle 33 cl @Cervezorama, Madrid. Dark colour, small body. Small smell of coffee, great palate.
3.6 Bottle. Dark brown beer, small to medium tan head with thin retention. Nose is dry, chocolate, dark fruits and coffee, soy and licorice: Flavor is dry, roasty, burned, coffee, coffee, dark chocolate, some hop notes. Roast and hops in the finish. Oily and smooth mouthfeel.
3.8 Bottle at EBBC16, rich dark red-brown with a thin tan crema, roasty red fruit and treacle nose, dry-roasty-sweet and rich, touches of liquorice, smoke and cocoa, strong burnt caramel bitterness in the finish.
3.6 Bottle. Aroma of prunes, raisin, coffee roast, chocolate, toasted bread. Pours out a deep brown to black colour with an almost grey small head. Taste is roast forward with dark fruits and coffee like flavours behind. Medium bodied, soft mouthfeel, soft carbonation, roasty bitter finish. This is a bit mild compared to the abv but none the less it’s enjoyable.
3.8 Bottle - Opaque black colour with creamy, medium and stable tan head. Chocolate and cocoa powder in the nose with some fruitiness and herbal hops. Great and smooth roasted aromas with cocoa, chocoate, toffee, red fruits, some black currant and gentle hop bitterness in the end. Medium body, average carbonation, velvety mouthfeel, elegant roasted finish with some red fruits. Great and well balanced stout.
Sredniaczek
3.4 How: Bottle. Where: Picked up in the Netherlands, had at home. Appearance: Black colour with a beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, liquorice, caramel. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Chocolate, roasted malt, some liquorice and coffee.
3.7 Totally black with a small head. Mild aroma, chocolate, coffee, dark malts. Prickly, spicy mouthfeel. Nice flavour, sweet, chocolate, a bit herbal and spicy, quite nice.
3.8 Bottle from Bert’s Bierhuis in Utrecht. The beer is very dark brown colored and pours a cream colored and sticky foam, with nice carbonation. The aroma has notes of cacao and chocolate. But also a freshness and fruitiness is noticable. And what’s left is some notes of wood and smoke. The taste is smooth and medium bodied, with a nice freshness from the CO2. The smoke from the aroma is well noticable. In the background is nice fruitiness with reminds me of forest fruits. The finish is long and dry, and has clear notes of chocolate and coffee and some light bitterness.
3.1 From 0,33 bottle; pours clear, dark brown to black with a huge, frothy & slightly creamy, light brown head. Heavy malty aroma with roasted malts & coffee. Taste is slightly sweet and light bitter with roasted malts dominating the flavor. Finish is medium sweet and also increasing in bitterness leading to a long, medium bitter, yet sweet finish. Medium bodied with a slightly watery texture and soft carbonation. Could have been more creamy & full bodied for me, otherwise not bad.
3.7 Aroma: Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, dried fruit, bread, liquorice, chocolate and roasted malts. Appearance: Turbid/opaque ruby/black beer with a medium beige head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, dried fruit, liquorice and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread and roasted malts. Overall: A tasty, rather complex and balanced stout. Could have been more intense to give him a more distinct character.
3.4 Bottle 33 cl. Brown with coffee foam. Aroma: malt, caramel and a little coffee, dried fruits. Taste: a little wine, dried fruits, caramel tones. Normal.
3.5 Marrón oscura, casi negra. Espuma ocre. Rico aroma tostado, café. Cuerpo moderado, sabor malteado, tostado, notas de chocolate, amargor de moderado a alto. Alcohol disimulado. Notable.
3.8 Well hello there good-lookin’, how you doin’? Pours a mysterious, very deep brown body with a large, creamy, light tan head that finally settles as a thin and everlasting layer that decorates the glass with curtains of foam. Malty, fruity, sweet and quite strong aroma of roasted malt, mild coffee and generic fruitiness, with a sprinkle of ash in the back. Strong flavour of roasted malt, coffee, a good amount of generic fruits and ashy hints. Light to moderate sweet taste with a moderate bitter and long-lasting finish. Close to full body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. A nice one, I really like the unusual mix of roasted malt and the pronounced yeasty fruitiness. It’s nowhere near a BIPA, the fruits don’t feel hoppy at all. [33 cl bottle, enjoyed 15 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Online]
3.5 Bottle. Pours almost black with medium tan head. Aroma is roasted, sweetish, malty, dark berries, slight alcoholic, hay, rusty. Taste is medium bitter, roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, slightly alcoholic.Medium body. Good.
3.6 Bottle from Edam. Silky black with a stable white creamy head. Aroma of apple toffee with dark chocolate and cinnamon spice. Lots of roast malt , caramel , bitter chocolate vanilla and bread yeast. Nice stout if you like nice.
