Meantime Coffee Porter

Meantime Coffee Porter

Avaialable in 330ml bottles only. Cold fermented and lagered.
May be known as Coffee Porter.
Our first formulation of this beer was the first UK brewed beer to carry the Fairtrade logo, and although we have reformulated it to create an even better blend better the malt and roast coffee flavours and can no longer get enough coffee in each bottle to qualify for Fairtrade status, we are still using the same Faitrade Araba Bourbon beans from Rwanda’s Abuhuzamugambi Co-operative.
At the Meantime Brewing Co we love flavour, so it wasn’t exactly difficult for us to see how the scents and aromas of coffee and barley would create a perfect match like just like mint and lamb, toffee and banana, peaches and cream, peanut butter and jam. Serve lightly chilled with as many chocolate truffles as your conscience allows.

4.1 Poured into a snifter from a 330ml bottle. Pours dark ruby with medium tan head. Aroma is a nice combination of coffee, roasted malts, earth and notes of chocolate. Taste is very pleasant coffee with earthy notes, medium bitter-sweet. Medium body with medium carbonation with a long slightly bitter finish. Very nice porter.
3.4 Bottle. A- Coffee, mildly bitter, subtle green pepper. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Coffee, subtle chili pepper, malty, bitter. P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- A more earthy coffee flavored beer. A bit of bell pepper and bitterness. Somewhat thin on the body. Okay, but not great.
3.5 Fľaša 330 ml z Drinkshopu. Tmavá, takmer nepriehľadná farba, krémová nahnedlá pena, čokoládovo karamelová aróma. Stredná rezkosť, pražený karamel, horká čokoláda, káva.
3.6 Bottle. Aroma: chocolate, coffee, roasty, earthy. Appearance: black, brown foam. Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness. Palate: medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, medium bitterness, long finish. Overall: Fine beer, but nothing extra.
3.5 330 ml bottle clear dark brown color with medium latte head. Smells roast malts with some kind coffee notes. Taste are fine roast malt bitterness with some kind expresso coffee notes and a bit dark chocolate notes with fine dry finish.
3.6 Bottle at Gumruk in Istanbul. A nice roast hit, dry and with good body. Nice light coffee aroma. A good after dinner beer.
3.8 Kolor : Cudowny wiśniowo-rubinowy. Piwo jest klarowne. Piana: Fantastyczna! Beżowa, bujna, wysoka. Struktura piany głównie drobno pęcherzykowa, gdzieniegdzie pęka tworząc średnie i duże dziury. Mniam! Aromat i smak czerwonych owoców a na finiszu kawowa goryczka. Dobór składników - perfekcyjny. Bardzo dobre piwo i wysoce pijalne.
2.9 How: Bottle. Where: Bought at the brewery, had at home. Appearance: Black colour with a beige head. Aroma: Coffee, roasted malt. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Dominated by coffee, some chocolate manages to find its way through.
3.6 Piękna Meantime’owa butelka, 330ml. W aromacie ziarna kawy, kakao, trochę wanilii, panuję pewna słodycz. W smaku przyjemna słodka kawa, trochę czekolady, łatwo pijalne i nieco wodniste.
3.5 330ml bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with a large, frothy, short lived, beige head that laces. Strong aroma of coffee with ash tray, roasted malt and a hint of vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt and dark chocolate with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Ok.
3.3 330ml bottle at home, Munich. Courtesy of Claudi. Aroma is spicy herbs, dark chocolate, coffee, toffee. Appearance is almost clear brown with a one finger thick brown-is head. Taste is light to medium bitter, light sweet. A dark chocolate like mouthfeel, slightly dry. Good.
3.8 330ml bottle from HK Brewcraft. Pours dark brown with medium khaki head. Strong coffee aroma and taste, but with kikkoman soy sauce notes. Short finish.
2.7 33cl shmancy botte, Maruhn XII2015. - Thinnish, fizzy pour. Smells more like hazelnut-vanilla spread than granulate instant coffee. Both elements factor in taste, vying for subdominance in a thin and less than satisfying mouthfeel coated by residual caramels, giving it a distinctly macrobrewed aftertaste. Missing some body and depth of flavour here.
3.7 Very impressed with the coffee aroma and flavours of this porter. Much better than the normal quality of porters.
3.7 Coffee and roasted barely notes dark pour with garnet tint.little tight head lean not a big mouthfeel typical for a good porter.
3.7 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark mahogany color, tan one-finger head, hanging strands of lace. Aroma of toasted malt and coffee. Taste is full-bodied toasted malt with black coffee and semi-sweet chocolate that stay around all the way to a moderately hopped finish. Yes, the recommendation to have this with (raspberry) truffles is a good one - I tried it, and the match was spot-on. A big, but not at all heavy, brew. Recommended.
1.5 Rownolegle pite butelki Meantime Chocolate Porter i Coffee Porter. Z wygladu oba piwa podobne - ciemne (choc daleko od czarnych - bursztynoiwe przeblyski ewidentne), przejrzyste (choc to malo widac) z dosc szybko redukujaca sie piana (w wersji coffee nieco wyzsza). Aromaty w obu w tle podobne - czyli karmel, palonosc lekka, w wersji czekoladowej... hmmm... aromat chemiczny jakis faktycznie czekoladopodobny zas w wersji coffee cos na ksztalt kakao. Wersja kawowa: akceptowalnie w calosci, wersja czekoladowa w calosci nieakceptowalnie ;) czyli powiedzmy 3.0 i 2.5 Ocena potraktowana skryptem do przeliczania ocen (uzgodnienie UT/RB).
2.9 Roasty taste of coffee. Mild bitterness. Color is just as a porter. Can be a good couple with bitter chocolate as final drink in the afternoon.
3.5 330ml bottle pours black in color with a finger of tan head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by coffee with roasted grains and chocolate. Taste is a roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a light chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid porter, fairly well balanced and tasty.
3.7 Dark brown with medium beige head. Nice coffee aroma. Taste rich of coffee, starting with remarkable sour touch, balanced by some vanilla sweet, finishing with mild hoppy bitterness. Slight bitter aftertaste.
3.0 It has beautiful foam and a pleasant aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The taste is evident coffee, but the good rich black where the bitterness just marked without being astringency. In the background you will find little English licorice, while both malt and hops notes are tucked out of the way.
3.1 33cc bottle pours to pint glass with mostly coffee, dark malt, fruit ( especially cherry and berries), and maybe a bit almond. Medium body and soft carbonation. the head was quite flat..it would be a great dinner company
2.9 Has nice coffe taste and good bitterness but palate is very very bad but aroma is awesome
3.9 Lovely coffee aroma with a bit of chocolate. Dark brown in glass. Pleasing coffee & malt flavour, astringency on dark malt in a good way for style. Bitter finish from malt/hops/coffee
4.0 Awesome coffee, chocolate, dark bread and roasted malts aroma. Dark brown color, clear, rather poor head. In taste it’s really great. It’s full of high quality coffee, cocoa and dark malt. There is no sourness from coffee. There are also ashy notes. It feels very light, very drinkable. Unfortunately it’s a bit over carbonated, which doesn’t match with a porter. But still, light bitterness gives this beer very pleasant aftertaste and good mouth feel. It’s definitely great beer. Hope SAB Miller will let them brew good beers like this one.
3.6 On the patio in scorching Florida sun , with Z...pours a dark brown pour with a clean Java head. Nose is mocha , coffee and deep malt. Taste is sweet, sugary coffee with malt, and rather light. Very easy drinkable porter with a dry finish and ending on the same sweet mocha, coffee notes. Pass TV dessert please ! Quaff Score 7 / 10
