3.4 bottle, pinkish color with good foam, sweet fruity aroma, flavor is a likeable cherry soda with some more depth, age to it,
4.7 Enjoyed after a day at the beach w/ scoobs, stew, + his crew (Page is a hotty!) .. . Pours a dark ruby colour with a medium full head, has a real quality lacing factor also .. . Smell is of sweet kids cherry juice and fresh pressed cherries+ dark cherry skins, some cherry brandy too ( The best flavor comparison would actually be a cherry fizz lollipop, the one with that fizzy shit in the middle..) .. .. Loaded with flavour: albeit not that complex, very clean and sweet, still a sweeter juice added lambic but damn enjoyable .. . .. Not for the serious Belgian kriek fan, but fuckin tasty and i enjoyed it... 34° 45′ 54″ S, 70° 17′ 11″ W
2.9 Red pour with pink head. Aroma of marachino cherries, cough syrup, cherry cough drops. Flavor is oversweet cherries, well water, some earthiness. Finish is flabby and sweet. The kind of fruit lambic your girlfriend likes.
3.3 Bottled (BB 05/2009, Vasa session). Deep cherry color, small pinky head. Tart and sweet cherry candy aroma, quite lollipop-like. Sweetish cherry flavor, berry stones, candy, some tartness, a bit like Lindemans kriek, but less sour. Fizzy carbonation. Somehow likeable, but same time a bit too close to soft drink.
3.5 Bottled (from Ölkonsortiet, Aalborg). urky reddish brown colour, mediumsized pink head. Aroma is cherry, some raspberryand quite sweet. Flavour is tart cherry with some other berries. Very dry palate. Pleasant and refreshing.
4.1 Amber-red color with minimal white head. Aroma is tart, sweet and fruity. Initial taste is an explosion of sweet cherry and mellow tartness. Could have used some more carbonation.
3.4 bottle - Pours ruby red with a thin pink head. The aroma is all about the cherries, as is the flavor. Rich, sweet cherries with a hint of tartness make this brew more of a dessert drink. The wild yeast isn’t noticeable. It’s too one dimensional to be great, but it’s tasty and reminds me a lot of Kasteel Kriek.
3.6 Clear red of color with a pink head. An aroma of red berries, sour notes, cherries and weak sweets and gum. A flavor of redberries, cherries, sweets, bubblegum and nice sour notes.
3.3 In the botle from HyVee CB. Pours purple with a pink head. Dark chunks swirl around the bottom. Smells like a cherry cough drop. Very tart initially, then finishes super sweet. Huge cherry taste. Not much else. A giant chalky mouthfeel, but otherwise, sort of what you’d expect this to be.
3.6 Strong aroma and flavor of cherry. Highly carbonated. Doesn’t taste much like beer at all, a lot more like a soda. Extremely sweet, great dessert beer.
2.4 355ml Bottle – Gravity Beer Market – Olympia, WA – This was a fruit beer and then some. Huge Cherry flavoring this was like a malt liquor with added cherry juice. Has some nice flavors but this was not to my liking. Too Sweet.
2.4 Ruby Red color with very little of an off white head. The nose reminds me of cherry flavored cough drops. Lots of sweet cherry fruitiness, with something tangy in the finish. The cherry flavor is a little too medicinal, and the tartness is not strong enough to balance this out. It must be sipped, and even then its really more like a cherry cordial. I will stick to the NG Belgian Red.
3.9 in bottle. beautiful aroma - like a cherry liqueur, or perhaps a sweet cough drop. Taste is sweet cherries, but there are finishing hops too, with a tangy twist left on the tongue so you know it is not soda. A delightful beer, one to sip on. not for chugging. would be excellent with dark chocolate on the side.
2.7 Pours into my 25cl tulip glass with a pale pink colored head. The beer is dark cherry color that shows an almost clear, bright red color when held up to the light. This is clearly a cherry beer as the aroma of candied cherries jumps out of my glass without me even trying to smell the beer. A deeper inspection of the aroma yield nothing else but cherry, though perhaps there is a touch of something like play-doh. The taste is not quite as sweet as the aroma would suggest, but it is definitely sweet. Cherry flavors are clearly the most prominent note here and that very faint play-doh note continues to be just noticeable in the flavor too. I am really having a hard time tasting anything but cherry flavors, this is very one dimensional. Because it is sweet, it definitely has a fuller body to it and there is a tannic character to it (sort of like cherry skins) that seems to boost the mouthfeel as well. More like a cherry soda than anything, you would never be able to guess that there is a spontaneously fermented beer under here, and that is quite a shame. Not bad, just not really beer. Purchased: Papago Brewing Co. Scottsdale AZ
3.1 Never had anything like this, never had a lambic I guess. Was weird at first but as I got used to it, a bit better. Very nice looking. Copper red with a thick head, not much lacing. Very thick sweet medicine palate. Cherry nose. Started a bit carbonated. Grew on me as I drank it. Ends up tasting like cherry juice in the finish.
3.6 From a bottle poured a ruby color with a fair amount of light pink head. Nice cherry flavor with a quick tart finish.
2.7 Bottle from 2nd Stone Sour Fest. Pours red. Nose is full of cherry syrup notes. Taste is like cherry soda, ehh.
3.9 Pours a rich blood red color with a short lived pinkish hue. Smell is very cherry like and strongly sweet and mostly artificial. Cherry candy like but still pleasant. Sweet flavor, but it tastes nice. Not very beer like, but a hint of malt in there and a touch drying in the finish. I feel like I shouldn’t like this, and it was very artificial, but I still enjoyed it.
2.7 Pours plum color with a 2 inch near-pink head, which doesn’t last as long as it takes me to write this rating. Smells like artificially sweetened with nutrasweet cherry candy you get at the dentist’s office. Flavor is of cherry candy or soda with no semblance of beer whatsoever. Oh but this a a "Cherry" beer, and a lambic, so I must rate it highly, right? Finish is slightly metallic and tart. Overall, non-memorable.
3.5 7-17-08 bottle (#999 rating) Blood red maroon pour with a fizzy pink head. Smells just like generic grocery store brand "cherry sours". Not much more to it - just that candy smell. Flavor is sweet and cherry sour like as well. I am very surprised that this is actually drinkable to me - as I am not normally a big fruit beer/lambic fan - but this isn’t over the top and is light. Overall it is nice and drinkable
3.7 12 oz into flute. Nice raspberry red/purple; clear with little visible carbonation and a great, very light pink head. Tart and sweet cherries and sugar (like cherry candy) and earth aroma. Flavor is like a sour jolly rancher with just a hint of alcohol and earthyness. Good and refreshing, although a bit too sweet to have more than 1 in a row. Smooth and brief on the palate with little carbonation and little to no finish. Overall: great refreshing sweet and sour fruity brew.
3.4 Strong cherry aroma as the bottle is opened. This is a strong flavored sipping beer. Of course, its flavor is a strong cherry. A nice sipping after dinner type of beer.
4.6 Poured a beautiful Ruby red with thick, reddish head. Nice aroma of cherries. Flavour was nice and sweet but balanced. A superior brew.
3.3 35.5 cL bottle. Pours dark redish towards murky with a lacing faint pink head. Light sulphorish dry cherry aroma. Flavour starts extremely sweet cherry flavoured and gains a solid acidic to citric touch along the way. Solid cherry flavour with a mild cripsy mouthfeel. Ends with a lingering cherry aroma reaching the back of the nose. Nice for what it is.
3.8 pours dark red with a nice one finger fluffy purple head. aroma is sweet and tart cherries with a little malt. has a medium body with descent lacing and good carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger. it has a little beer taste to it at the end and in the aftertaste. i think it is good and better than what the percentile is at.
3.2 Smells very sweet, almost un-inviting. Cherry and sugar cane. Pours literally the colour of plump ripe cherries, got that spot on. A blast of sugar indeed, almost too much for a beer. I wanted more pure cherry flavour instead. The malt does add a nice backdrop. Light and not to thick in the mouth, despite the sugary profile.
3.2 Foam Rangers tasting. Red pour with nice head. Nose of cherry, cherry and cherry. Taste is tart cherry with nice finish and good carbonation.
3.5 Very surprizing. I tohught I was good to hate this. Thought it was going to taste like cough syrup. I was wrong. Dark reddish hue with an exceptional cherry aroma. Flavor ais unmatched but acl is low....loses points for that.
3.0 Not bad for a cherry lambic. sweet and tart wtih a nice head. Enjoyable at the end of a dinner or night of drinking.
3.4 355ml brown bottle. Cherry red pour with a small pink head which recedes quickly. Cherry is up front in the aroma, not detecting much else, though the scent is pleasant, if not a little sweet. Flavour has some immediate cherry fruit sweetness. Finish is slightly sour, acidic with a bit of funkiness lingering. Medium sticky body.
