Melvin Hubert MPA

Melvin Hubert MPA

Hubert? I’ve heard of him. A friend of a friend knows him. Apparently he’s awesome, but we’ve never met. Well. It’s about time you did. Most you connoisseurs would just call him an IPA, but we call him an MPA. The Melvin Pale Ale. A welcomed hand shake to your taste buds. Light, crisp, fresh and a little bitty bitter. Lets just say he won’t be that jerk that leaves you at the bar at 2am. He’s low in alcohol. What a nice guy... that Hubert.

3.7 Can. Pours hazy orange with a medium, frothy white head, long retention. Heavy apricot, peach, and mango hops, moderate hop bitterness, medium bread malt and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
3.8 Bought as part of a beerhawk scrapes box. Possible out of date but the numbers smudged. No matter... cloudy, minimal head and mid carbonation IPA. Hops, pine and touch of dankness. Tastes refreshing, tropical with light biter finish. Drinkable.
1.7 $2 can from vintage. Piney hops nose. Haze on pale, thick frothy head. Big bitter taste, borders on IPA. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between a stronger APA and an IPA. Certainly not light and certainly is mouthcoating rather than crisp. Piney mouth-coating rude ass spruce and chewing on green grapefruit rinds, all at the same time. What-ever. Not impressed, needs to be taught some manners.
3.9 หอมต้นขมกลางและปลาย 330ml 189.-
3.4 Draught at Bootleggers. Cloudy amber coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of hops and pine needles. Fruity flavour of hops and pine needles with notes of citrus. Hoppy finish.
3.3 Tap at Kultainen Apina. Pours cloudy golden yellow with white head. Fresh fruityness, sourish lemon orange, fruity hops, pale malts. Medium body, average carbonation, fresh fruity finish.
3.9 I don't like IPAs (though it's referred to as an MPA here) in general but this is a really good one. Not the overly hoppy or bitter finish. One of the top 3 IPAs I've had...again it uses a toned down various of the usual IPA.
4.0 (nez fresh-hop, bouche onctuo-light, du houblon assez costaud (se calmise), apa-ipa-mpa très bien foutue - mais x-pa…)
3.4 Very well balanced beer, nice low hoppiness that still balances the cereal body.
3.4 Light gold pour, white head. Character of orange, lemon, and caramel, well balanced.
3.4 Serving: from can purchased at QFC. Aroma: moderate pine. Appearance: small, off-white, initial head with fair lace and mostly diminishing longevity. Hazy, medium-yellow body. Taste: lightly bitter and citrusy initial flavor and finish with average duration. Palate: medium body with watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: good aroma for an APA.
3.8 Pours a slightly cloudy deep golden coloration with a medium, dense head. Smells of biscuity malt and slightly floral, citrus hops, with just a hint of pine. Taste is good balance of biscuity, slightly grainy malt and floral, slightly resinous citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pine and a light dankness. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some floral, citrus hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. This seems a little past its prime at 5 months old, but still has some decent dank, resinous and citrussy notes of grapefruit, tangerine and pine going on, although being a touch too floral for my personal taste. I rated this a little higher than I normally would to make up for the age.
3.2 Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can from wchesser, canned on February 26, 2019, poured into a glass. Slightly hazy golden with medium/small white head. Aroma is pine hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is pine hops, herbal hops, and bitter finish.
4.2 PA-Masterpiece🙌 winey, piney, clearcoasty😃ROUND⚡️MOSAICO & CITRA in there!?🤓 ...Tap Stuff. STONEs 2ter :)....
3.6 Can 0,355L. Hazy golden color with average big, frothy, white head. Intensive aroma of pine, peach and mango. Taste is bitter/sweet and not so agressive. It's fruity with medium body, soft carbonation and dry finish. OK beer, but I expected something more...
3.4 3/9/19. 12oz can from an in-law. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Some citrus and floral on the aroma. A touch of dough, biscuit, and caramel on the flavor, citrus, floral. Not bad.
3.4 Called an IPA on the tap list. Dark gold with white head. Sweet citrus in the aroma. Hoppy taste, pineapple and tangerine. Some evergreen in the long finish.
3.8 On tap at Bishops Uppsala. Hazy golden with white head. Hoppy and smooth, citrus, pine and mixed fruits. Nice!
3.8 12 FL oz can. Thanks, Phil. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow colour. Thin white head. Berries, tangerines, oranges in the aroma. Nice fruitiness. Delicious. Pineapple, tangerines, notes of peach in the taste. Citrussy, tropical aftertaste.
3.7 Can, thank you FatPhil. Nice golden yellow with some white foam on the top, relatively clear. Nice tropical nose, fruity and some malty base in there behind. Taste has some overripe tropical fruits, light sweetness but not excessive, dry and light hop marmalade linger in the aftertaste. Smashable for sure.
3.5 Small US units sized can, thanks Fatphil. Pours clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy, lemony, citrussy. Taste is hoppy, fruity, pear, green apple, cat pee. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Decent well drinkable brew
3.3 Clear gold with a white head. Grapefruit, lemon, grain aroma. Nice sharp-bitter grapefruit-peel taste. Grain malt....citrusy..... a good, tingly carbonation.. Very good.
3.7 Sampled on draught at Miller’s Pub, Chicago. Golden, light amber colour with a white head. Aromas of grapefruit and a taste of biscuit malt with tons of hop flavour, mainly grapefruit skin and pine resin. A well-balanced and delicious beer with lots of flavour. Highly drinkable.
3.5 12 fl oz can, pours a somewhat hazy golden with a finger of white froth which disappears gradually. Baby brother to Melvin IPA, so aromas and tastes are simpler, mainly grapefruit and pine on nose, and similar bittersweetness in taste with bitter finish. Clean, crisp, light to medium body.
3.5 Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks solid; a transparent gold with foamy white head. Smells of fruity and a touch of piney hops alongside a moderately bittersweet backbone. Some caramel too. Tastes like it smells with a medium to medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
3.5 A golden ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy resinous floral, light citrus and tropical fruits, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, light alcohol warmth, very nice and classic. On tap at Brewbridge, Patong.
3.9 Lata de @El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo 18/11/2018 Color amarillo anaranjado, corona de espuma blanca, aromas cítricos, notas especiadas, sabor citrica, maltosa cuerpo medio. Rica
3.6 Burk Bishops Örebro. Orange vätska. Doft av grape, barr och druva. Småsöt och lite klibbig smak. Mogen citrus, tall och druva. Maltig och lite pepprig med besk avslutning
