3.3 12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, ivory head, with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy, dark amber (SRM 14) body......nose is toasted malts with biscuit, bread crust notes, light hops spice, no esters, balanced.......taste is lightly sweet, with toffee/caramel notes, cereal malts, no esters, becoming bitter, which lingers, balance to the malts.....mouth feel light of medium body, no alcohol, light carbonation. This is a moderately hoppy Amber Ale. Overall it is a bit light in both the malt and hop backbones. More caramel crystal malt and a more floral hop would help correct. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6
3.5 Your basic malt-and-hops-you-made-a-beer-in-your-garage-type beer. I’ll take it.
2.9 Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is a bit of oxidation, biscuit and cereal, a slight herbal hop component, and a mild fruity sweetness. Taste is mostly cereal and herbal hops with slight caramel and low-med bitterness. Medium body with sort of a strange viscousness to it, fizzy carb, dry finish. Bitterness is a little too long and astringent considering there is not much hop flavor.
3.0 Consumed straight from the bottle, which might be at least several months old. Its not bad - perhaps bottle conditioning helps give this a longer shelf life? Easy drinking, mildly malty, a touch of bitterness and hops. Not bad at all.
3.1 small frothy white head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. translucent average-density light amber body. aroma: moderate malt, caramel, light hoppy, maple syrup. if: heavy sweet. ff: moderate sweet bitter; long duration. palate: medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Pesado Dulçor maltado lembra também Karo. Amargor de lúpulo surge para equilibrar no final do gole. O amargor de malte e lúpulo são balanceados e se auxiliam mutuamente, como previsto no BJCP. 30 s
2.3 12oz bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Caramel, biscuit. Very bland. Could use some hops/bitterness to balance it out and add some flavor.
3.0 Mild flavored slightly sweet and fruity ale with a soft malty base and not a whole lot else to cheer about. A decent brew but very forgettable.
2.2 "in a word, boring. one of the least impressive "amber" ales i’ve ever had. i can never quite understand why a breweries flagship beer would be this when there are way better beers in their arsenal, including the ever popular pale ale..."
3.0 Pours amber with a white head. Malt, caramel, toffee, hop and biscuit aroma and flavors. Medium body and carbonation. Caramel and biscuit finish. Nasty astringent aftertaste. Bland too
4.0 Drank from a bottle. Sweet malty ale, that coats the mouth. Nicely balanced hop bitterness
0.5 Eww. Bottle must have been fucked because if this is what they were going for, they should think again. Gross.
1.8 This beer is not worth drinking. I was surprised how unbalanced and super malty this beer was. Hops and bitterness are there but not there. Don’t try.
2.7 On tap poured a clear deep golden hue w/ medium diminishing to a lasting cap. Mild to moderate malt aroma. Initial flavor is faint sweet w/ a bold sharp bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are straw, rye, grass, and bitter hop. Medium body and creamy mouthfeel.
2.9 12 oz bottle at home from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have biscuity malt, light caramel, mild citrus, mild earthy notes. Nothing big that stands ou. Forgettable.
2.9 Ruddy amber with a white head. Nothing award-winning happening here, just a decent drinkeroo. Citrus and herbal hops paired with brown sugar, nutty and yeasty toast malts is a pretty nice combo. An okay ale that just wants to chill and is at a good price.
1.2 Bottle. Straight from. The aroma is straight, shifty corn. The taste is sweet and close to undrinkable. This blows.
2.5 Godd brown ale. Easy drinkable. Malty aroma and taste. Yeast notes in the aftertaste.
1.2 Taste almost like vomit. Id rather dink coors light. Taste lime vomit and an overly sweet nasty taste. Tastes like the fermenting vats of pig feces found in an arkansas farmstead.
2.3 Lahvac v san franciscu. Zprvu chutove pekne a vyrazne, zustava ale neprijemna pachut.
3.2 Bottle. Red deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is berries, malt, hop, fruit, citrus, caramel. Flavour is berries, malt, hop, fruit, citrus, caramel. Medium body. OK beer.
2.2 Bottle. The look is a slight haze, reddish copper colored, and a beige colored head. The smell is malts, caramel, paper, leaves, and ok. The taste is paper, noble hops, caramel, grass, and mush.
2.6 12 oz bottle. Amber red with an average off-white head. Aroma is of caramel, honey, sticky toffee, leaves and woody hops. Taste is of herbal hops, leaves, caramel, and woody shrubs.
2.1 12 oz bottle (no freshness date) from Evergreen Discount into my Funkwerks glass. Amber, deep orange and hazy appearance with an average beige head, light lacing. Mild aroma of grains, toasted malts, sweet fruit and light toffee/caramel. Similar flavor, pretty bland, mild bitterness and light sweetness with a touch of alcohol. Medium body, crisp and semi-dry with an unpleasant metallic finish. Definitely some off-notes, probably been on the shelf too long.
2.4 Bottle at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Light amber color, small white foamy head, high carbonation, very faint hops aroma, yeasty taste, abrupt finish. Not an impressive beer.
3.0 2oz sample at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Pours amber in color with a small head of foam. Aroma of old citrus and toasted malts. Taste is much the same. Toasted and caramel malts, and old citrus fruit.
3.2 355 ml bottle. Clear reddish amber body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is mainly malty with some caramel, pine and citric fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, bread, some citric fruit and balanced bitterness. Medium body and moderate aftertaste with sweet malt. Mainly a malt driven beer, somehow balanced, but pretty straight forward and not very exciting.
3.2 30-DEC-2013, bottle @home, from Fish & Beer. Clear golden/light amber with quickly dying off-white head. Hoppy and malty aroma with grape fruit, caramel, Vanilla, and orange peel. Taste the same. Thin body, medium carbonation, short aftertaste. Not all that bitter.
3.2 @ Party Source / Bellvue KY - Nearly clear dark amber with a lively head that stays at 1", bands and dots of lace. Taste begins with sweet caramel malt and dry wood and biscuit, moves through the palate without incident, lands in the finish with a mild, but assertive, hop bitter. Pretty simple, but quite easy to drink, with or without food. No big deal, but I like it.
2.9 Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of red berries, malt, fruitiness and yeast. Flavor is sweet and malty with some oxidized malt, fruitiness and berries. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.0 Bottle 355ml @ Geokkjer Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, bread and citrus hops. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel and bready finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
