3.1 Bottle 330 ml / Hyperboissons - Doubs (F). Dark beer with an average beige head, low during. Roasted aromas, chocolate, toffee-caramel, coffee. The taste is similar, roasted with choc, hazelnut, notes of coffee, tobacco, hint of cachou. Texture and bitter are light, roasted-herbs. Drinkable.
3.1 330ml dark bottle, from Beers Of Europe. Sludge in the bottom which may be yeast or something else. A pleasant, soft, easy drinking dark beer. Dark fruits and deep red wine flavours. Faint roast, Few hops (which I like). Not greasy, but clean. Neutral and refreshing. There's a lot for me to like in this. Nothing to get excited about, but plenty to enjoy. I'd be happy to have this beer in my local supermarket.
3.3 0.33 bottle, pours oily black with almost no head. Light roasty aroma. Pleasant roasty taste, dark chocolate aftertaste. A little bit too fizzy for the style
(10/4/9/4/19)
2.6 Aroma: ashy, chocolate, roasted malts. Appearance: black color and creamy head. Taste: watery, ashy, roasted dark malts, bland, dry. Palate: lowbody and low body. Overall: an average Porter, nothing special.
3.3 Bottle. Fairly weak roasty aroma, nicely balanced light taste. Somewhat powderry texture, light body, very drinkable albeit a little waterry.
2.8 Bottle. Dark brown in colour. Small frothy tan head. Fair lacing. Malty; lightly roasted malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate, liquorice notes. Fruity; some dark fruits. Slight hops. Sweet roasty malty caramel and coffee flavour. Slightly fruity and quite dry. Better than expected (feared). OK, but there is a lingering artificial sweetness in the finish. Bit too sweet. (2017-01)
3.4 Bottle @ Luxembourg hotel room tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, lactose, sugar, licorice, caramel and hops. Dry roast finish.
3.1 Bottle. It poured black with a thin tan head. The aroma is dark chocolate, coffee and toffee. The mouthfeel is watery.
2.9 Bottle from Liquor Barn poured into a snifter. Aroma of caramel and toffee. Taste is nice balance of sweet and bitter.
3.1 330ml bottle (bb unknown), at home on 5 Feb 2017, present from Stuartyboy, roasted malt, coffee aroma, near black with a very short-lived tan head, roasted malt, coffee, some chocolate, oily, bitter for a porter.
2.3 Bottle shared at a beer tasting! Deep black with a small head. Aroma has very sweet malt notes. Taste has oversweeted malts, sugary, overall very lax. Artifical sweet finish.
3.9 Liquid is black as night, small, brownish head. Aroma of peat, coffee. Medium body, little bit carbonation. Taste of peat, a bit sweet.
2.1 Jedno z najgorszych piw typu Porter jakie piłem. Piana szybko opada.
2.8 Bottle. Pours dark brown with quickly disappearing light brown head. Aroma is roasty, tabacco, licorice, chocolate. Taste is sweet and sour with malt, cocoa, slightly roasty. Quite watery.
3.5 Appearance is pitch black, opaque, a small beige bubbly head which doesn’t last long. Looks forbidding. Aroma- treacle toffee, vanilla, chocolate, dark malt, vanilla chocolate fudge. Taste- coffee, dark chocolate, roasty malt, dry roast, caramel, toast, fizzy mouthfeel, fairly short finish.
3.4 Bottle (at liquid, Luxembourg). Pours dark brown-black with beige head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, malt. Flavor is sweet, roast, malt, some fruits, cocoa powder, sugar. Body is bit thin. Overall: solid, but bit simple and watery.
3.3 Very toasted, dry, nasal. Bready, English fermentation. Watery palate. Overall a touch disappointing. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)
4.1 Jet black, huge creamy light brown head and sticky lacing. Sweet surupy bread, malty, milk coffee, chocolate, bit ash, cocoa. Very good aroma. Smooth, low carbonation, medium body, dry, mildly roasted, long finish. Good one, balanced and nuanced character, pure flavors.
3.0 Bottle from Bethesda Food and Beverage. Dark brown body with thin, tan head. Nose is malts, dark berries, molasses and chocolate. Taste is plummy, dark fruits, some chocolate. But quite thin too. Some dark chocolate in the finish. Decent.
3.2 33cl bottle. Deep brown/black colour with a small tan head. Coffee, chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. Average to low carbonation and medium body. Taste is more sweet with chocolate and nutty notes. Overall, a nice beer.
3.7 Barwa ciemno brunatna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana beżowa, gęsta ale szybko znika. W aromacie dominuje kawa rozpuszczalna oraz zbożowa. W smaku gorzka czekolada w kierunku deserowej, bombonierka. Solidny porter.
4.1 330ml. Dark umber colour with a fine-bubbled caramel head. Aroma of red berries, a hint of dark chocolate, and the burn of whiskey. The taste is creamy and rich, with a touch of woodsmoke, bitter dark chocolate, and black olives; after swallowing there is little aftertaste. For a porter, this beer is surprisingly light and refreshing. It paired up well with a rare steak. Thoroughly enjoyable.
3.1 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe, great artwork on the bottle. Almost black in colour with a thin but lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and slight fruit/hop smell. Taste is quite mild for a porter, some chocolate and dark roasty malty flavours, coffee, caramel, a faint hint of hops. There’s not much bitterness, and it’s not a great porter, definitely lacking in flavour. Massive disappointment after trying their Chocolati Stout which I really enjoyed.
