Michelob Dunkel Weisse

Michelob Dunkel Weisse

Dunkel weisse dark wheat ale, all malt and unfiltered. A dark wheat ale featuring our own unique yeast and malted wheat.

A special Bavarian yeast strain combined with select wheat malt deliviers unmistakeable clove and banana tones. The surprisingly light finish is a character of dark weissbeir, a style with roots back to the 1520s. A dunkel which is perfect for any season!

To serve this brew perfectly, pour it down the side of the glass untill about a half inch is left. Gently swirl the bottle mixing what’s left. Pour the rest of the brew into the glass to produce a nice thick collar of foam and enjoy!

3.1 Pours a hazy brownish orange. Small off white head. Smells of pears, apricots, and malts. Tastes of apricots and malts. A bit sweet. Tasty.
3.1 I’ve enjoyed trying the various styles Michelob has been producing, some are great examples of the given style, while others seem like Americanized impostors. This dunkel weisse was pleasantly enjoyable. It poured a light caramel color with an off-white creamy head. Clove yeast smell, thin and light body, with a lightly sweetened raisin taste. Great beer for the price point.
4.2 Dunkelweizen is my favorite style, and I really like this one! Pours out a nice hazy reddish light brown with a good creamy tan head. Aroma is very good. Flavor is right up there with the better wheat beers I have had. Roasty malts, slight coffee. Good banana and clove. Not overly thin or too sweet. Finishes clean. I should have gotten the entire six pack instead of a single bottle.
3.8 Poured into weizen glass. Pours a creamy white head. Very fluffy. Leaves a good layer of lace. Color is a cloudy bronze. The aroma is similar to a hefeweissen. Lots of banana and clove flavor. Flavor is quite similar, but a little bit nutty this time. The banana taste is stunning. Mouthfeel is very chilled. Then it gets creamy and ends smooth. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. This was the first Michelob product that I actually planned on buying when I went to the store. It is an excellent beer and I really think it is underrated. 1.2 Michelob’s Aventinus knock-off. Not much going on, some prune and raisins on the nose very little flavor a bit of malt and wheat. Nothing special, just another big brewery trying to make something good.
3.2 (bottle) hazy brown. Aroma of banana and clove. Flavor is yeast, banana, some clove. Body only moderate. Solid dunkel weisse - props to AB for trying out new styles.
2.8 This is better than expected A-B offering. It has a pleasing aroma. It pours well with nice coloration. It has clove and banana flavor notes.
3.2 Bottle pour, hazy, muted iced-tea in color. Nice head, foamy tan, remains throughout drinking. Full aromas of bananna, plum, roasted sweet malts, yeasty. Tastes were kinda all over from front to back....sweet and satisfying when first tasted....nice mouthfeel, satisfying...and then a sweet, mellow malt to almost sour raisin finish. Interesting, I like it.....great with a good, strong cheese or ribeye.
3.4 The caramel and banana mix together perfectly and make for a very pleasant and easy drinking dunkel. Probably my favorite american macro. Served alongside an american burger and fries, this beer is quite probably what Busch meant to crown as his "King of Beers".
2.9 Poured beer had a great amber color and good head. Would I seek out this beer...no, would I have this beer again...yes. Not a bad beer overall just seems to be lacking a little for me.
2.4 bottle. copper, fizzy off-white head. aroma, strong wheat nose, and plenty of cloves, yeasty and banana. flavors, experiment went a little wrong here, just overly grainy/wheat, way too much spices/cloves. Keeps a malty, yeasty and banana profile that is hindered by too much wheat but it all crumbles very quickly. Picked up some possible vanilla sweetness.
3.4 An easy drinking dunkelweisse with an appealing aroma redolent with banana and sweet malty notes. A bit of spicy clove character seeps in. Pours a deep reddish brown with a two finger tan head. Lacing is minimal. The flavor mirrors the aroma with a well balanced finish that shows tart maltiness and a bit of bitterness. Aroma hops are minimal. Well done.
2.6 buenas las birrias de trigo, especialmente oscuras. son una buena combinacion. esta es tipo alemana
2.8 Aroma of yeast, candy sugar, bananas, and spices. Flavors of dark malts, fruits, brown sugar, and wheat. A tad cloying and a touch sour at the finish. Mouthfeel is thin and not at all refreshing. This doesn’t really work for me.
2.5 Feh...it’s a decent shot at the dtyle by A-G, but it doesn’t hit the bullseye, as the brew is watery and weak, especially in the traditional dunkelweisse esters and flavor complexity.
2.9 Bottle; poured a caramel/amber colro with an average off white head. Aroma was subdued; banana, caramel, wheat; a little bit something off about it, but still ok. Pretty thin, and flavor was just ok. Not really a depth of flavors. Pretty sweet, banana, fruit, yeast; rather flat finish, but the after taste was enjoyable. Gotta be one of their better offerings, but overall it was a bit below average.
3.0 pours yellow-red, nose of banana and clove same palate, very bitter aftertaste, one would think that with the technology, experience, and money of inbev, they could definately and would get this right, sad excuse to sell to a broader market, ultimately not worth a second try by me!
2.7 12 oz. bottle at a friend’s house. Not sure where he got it. I was in the St. Louis area, and I’m sure it’s widely available there and most other markets. Pours a clear brown color with a finger-thick beige head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of caramel malts, banana, wheat, yeast, and clove. Flavor follows suit faithfully, with some nuttiness and brown sugar. Light-bodied, with mild carbonation. I’m not a huge fan of this overall, and I’ve had some good dunkelweizens in the past, but I have to say it’s good for an A-B product.
3.1 This is Michelob? Bought a 12-pack of their sampler and this was a pleasant surpise. Poured a deep dark caramel color with a nice thick head. Malty aroma with a smooth mouthfeel. Caramel, yeast, wheat, malt flavors all come through. Nice beer.
3.3 I completely underestimated this beer. Very nice banana and clove aroma, almost shocking (AB product). Very smooth the yeast stands out almost as much in taste as it does in aroma. The palate is a little thin, but is medium bodied and has a nice yeast kick in that wraps up the finish. Best AB product I have ever had!
1.8 Bottle poured into a frosted glass: Yeast and clove nose, with banana notes underneath. Cloudy copper, headless. Light body. Flavor is weak clove. Slightly plastic finish. Needs more flavor.
2.8 Nice hint of cloves with a decent aftertaste. Label claimed there was also a hint of banana but try as I might, I couldn’t taste or smell banana (just as well!). This was a pretty good beer for a cold winter’s evening but not one I’d want to drink often.
2.0 Refrigerated bottle. Watery body and some head. Pours a dark brown. Taste is dark malts some sour clove and banana. Not a big fan, but a fair attempt at the style.
3.1 12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a large foamy off white head. The aroma has some caramel sweetness, but is more clove, yeast and bananas. The flavor has a caramel malt base with wheat grass, banana, and cloves. Medium bodied and smooth. This is a decent offering from a surprising source.
3.4 Bottle. Pour is light brown with mid white head. Aroma is wheat, anise, bubblegum, and hay. Smells pretty good. Flavor is true to nose and this does not have the funky aftertaste of many AB products. Pretty darn good.
2.9 nice roasty malt aroma. light amber color with minimal head. thin and decent for what it is.
3.3 Opaque brown with quick fading white head. Spicy cinnamon wheat aroma with dark fruits. Taste is light and sweet with pumpernickel notes. Light drinking, soft in body with some residual sweetness. Not bad at all.
2.8 Bottle. Green banana, brown sugar, and sour milk aroma. Slightly hazy copper color with minimal head. Cherry, banana, clove, and wheat malt flavor. Pretty sweet. An okay beer - would have liked more of a malt flavor.
3.9 good variation on the style for Michelob. Banana and clove is strong but still a good mouthfeel.
3.3 Bottle. I was very impressed with this offering by A-B. Great dark color, wonderful spicy, malty flavor. Wouldn’t have known it was an A-B product if I hadn’t seen the bottle.
