Michelob Honey Lager

Michelob Honey Lager

For centuries, brewmasters have used honey as an ingredient in beer to enhance a brew’s naturally sweet, creamy flavor. Our Honey Lager is brewed in this tradition, using all natural honey and the finest barley malts for rich, smooth taste and a deep golden color.

2.3 12 oz. bottle. Gold color, tending toward amber, in a glass with the usual big megabeer head. A bit of honey in the nose, and just a slight note of alcohol. Taste is OK. Honey predominates, even suggesting a hint of mead. Some undefined bitterness in the backbone. But halfway down, a thin mouthfeel lets out some adjuncts in the form of overdone sweetness and alcohol fusels. Michelob actually has had some decent beers in various styles, but honeyed beer can be elusive to pull off.
2.3 (12oz bottle thanks to blutt59) clear pale yellow. Nose of honey, corn and raw grain. Taste of honey, earth, grain with a cola-like carbonation and honey finish.
2.2 Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is honey with some grain notes. The flavor is heavy on the honey but I also get some banana and grain. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not great, but not terrible.
2.0 (12oz bottle, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a clear yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of honey, grain, skunk, and grass. Flavor of honey, grain, and some Honeynut Cheerios.
1.8 bottle, golden amber color with tight white foam, aroma is skunky, lemon, flavor is honey caramel and skunk
3.7 Honey Lager--1997-8 12 oz. Bottle. 4.90% ABV. (3.75 / 5.0) Fruit Ale--Honey. Crystal Clear rich golden color. Hoppy rich front and honey dry finish.
2.3 Not bad for a macro. Aroma is mild and a bit nutty. Taste is of honey and nuts. Amber pour with a very small white head.
2.8 Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Aroma is honey, grain, and some floral hops. Flavor is honey, grain, and a light spicy finish.
2.2 Bottle, can. Dark yellow/orange pour, thin head. Grain and honey on the nose, maybe a little caramel sneaking in on flavor.
1.9 A lot better than I expected, this lager is a thick dark honey color, like the Yuengling Traditional Lager. Aroma is a slight scent of honey while flavor hosts more honey. Malts are thin, but noticeable- like a light oktoberfest- tastee fresher than most macro products, but that may be the honey masking it. Would not hesistate to drink another.
3.0 It’s a little to sweet for my taste. Could use some more bitterness. Pours a golden color.
2.3 pours orange, thin white head. Aroma is light, honey. Flavor, honey comes out a lot, hints of caramel malts and sweetness. After a few sips, the honey aspect becomes just too one dimensional, leaving the beer to be dull and boring. The honey is reminiscent of medicinal aftertaste.
2.3 At first taste seems very biter but the aftertaste is of sweet honey. Not impressed with aroma or appearance but the aftertaste made up for that. An okay beer overall.
2.3 Bottle. Pours a pale body with a white head. Light honey, grain, corny vegetative notes and a thin light body. Not so good.
2.9 White, medium head. Aroma: Grain, floral hops. Flavor: Same with a chemical bite. Light, bitter finish.
2.1 12 oz bottle into a pint glass Very sweet and tastes generic like the other Michelob craft selections. Just never really blown away by the stuff they make.
2.5 Sadly I kinda like this brew. Aroma is nothing fancy slight hint of sugar and malt. Flavor is what you would expect from a main stream commercial brewery’s attempt at a craft brew, carbonation, a little hops and malt and with this one a surgery honey tone. Overall I like this brew though, its not bad for hot afternoon.
2.1 On a Honey Beer kick so while in the US I picked up a 6 pack of this. Certainly needs to be chilled to drink in the Hot Texas weather. Its a standard American Commercial Lager, but for what it is worth they have done a reasonable job blending in the Honey flavour. Didn’t have any problem drinking the 6 pack with a friend. Has a fair degree of sweetness but I guess that is what you want in a honey beer, could use more malt and hop for me. But still a good drinkable commercial US beer if there is such a thing.
1.7 not impressed with this craft brew from michelob. to sweet and overpowered with honey.
1.4 Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with little head. Aroma of honey, corn, and grain. Flavor isn’t anything special; tastes like Michelob with a ton of sugar added. Not a good beer... at all.
1.8 Thin and watery with just the slightest hint of honey, maybe a touch better than your average lager, but not by much.
2.6 Bottle. Poured gold, little head. Aroma of honey and grain. Taste is similar with some toasted malt coming through as well. Finishes a sweet taste. Body is relatively light. Overall, a decent brew.
1.0 My friend bought this. ew. honey and doo doo. Hope to never have again. I don’t understand how people like this...ew
0.6 Smells of corn and shit. Crystal clear golden with a thin fading head. Sugary sweet with no discernible character. Difficult to drink, actually. It tastes as if someone dumped plain sugar into a cheap beer like Busch or Coors Light. I’d rather just have a regular Michelob it’s that bad.
2.4 12 oz bottle... nothing much to say about this one... only a touch on honey detectable... give me a dundee honey brown any day over this one
2.8 Golden yellow in color. Minimal head, disappears quickly. Smells sweet. The taste starts out sweet then becomes kind of bitter fairly quickly. Aftertaste isn’t great. Overall it’s just okay. Not the best, not the worst.
1.5 This was not enjoyable beer. Smelled sweet and grainy; taste unfriendly, sweet but bland, thick finish with unpleasant taste remnants. Not good.
1.5 Pours clear gold with a thin white head that has good retention. Aroma is sour malt, grass, old grain, sweet hay, mineral notes and maybe a hint of honey. Flavor is sweet grass, floral sweetness, sweet malt, honey, corn and dried grass. Palate is thin and a little syrupy with a definite sticky feel on the lips, finishes a little syrupy. This stuff was not enjoyable, I didn’t expect it to be good, but this is kinda aweful.
2.3 12 oz bottle. Pours pale gold with sizeable, but quickly falling, off-white head. The aroma is stale grains, grass, and a floral note that does kind of remind me of honey. The flavor is very sweet and malty with a definite straight (unfermented) honey note. There’s some grassy hop taste in there, and an astringent finish. Ok for what it is, I guess, but it isn’t very graceful.
2.1 .. . first beer from the Looseeana road trip .. . pleasant aftertaste, and a light aire of honey... . odd lacking cardboard aroma .. . pretty weak but a made for the masses summer brew, better than most special releases from the BMC companies.. ..
