A Belgian, lightly spiced pale ale. This caramel colored, light-bodied brew has a mild caramel flavor, a hint of orange peel and coriander and slight hop bitterness.

2.7hamsters really shouldn’t drive cars .. . pours a murky penny brown .. thick low strength head .. . been wanting to try this for years, but a let down .. . muddled sweetness and grainy .. . i am lugash..
3.5Tasty! Great head, good color, and a malty, biscuity, savory flavor that really stayed with me. The ’herbs and spices’ on the label are a faint presence, just enough to enhance the natural excellence of this beer. Reasonably full-bodied taste, but the finish was somewhat short and I would have liked just a touch more carbonation.
2.0Amber pour with a cream head. Clove, figs, yeast and spices on the nose. Light on the palate with a yeasty spice flavor along with figs and dried fruits in the finish.
2.9Bottle purchased from Mi Brewing. Pours amber with a light white head. Not much aroma, a low earthiness and carmel. Some butteriness although not unpleasantly high levels, carmel, and nutmeg. Rounded body with light carbonation. Unfortunately not well knit together.
3.1bottle - Pours hazy light amber with a one finger off-white head. The aroma is mild malt and spice. It tastes of sweet malt and spice with a touch of cherries. Decent brew.
2.8Location: 12 oz bottle, 10/22/09
Aroma: Toasted grains, caramel, orange
Appearance: Hazy golden-orange color
Flavor: Malty with a medium sweetness
Palate: Light-medium body, somewhat creamy
Overall Impression:
This beer was alright. It’s not very exciting, but it is drinkable. It is a little bit on the boring side. You can drink it, it may quench your thirst, but it is not going to excite anyone.
2.6Has a clear medium gold pour with copper red hues, gives a small off-white head, aromas of bready, caramel malt with faint fruit in the background, some malt sweetness, and hints of yeast, malt and caramel flavors, a touch of spice,
drink starts with some sweetness and ends dry on the palate with a little crackers, a touch of pepper at the finish, a so-so beer.
1.9This was one of the poorest quaility ’Belgian’s I’ve ever had. It’s a decent beer, but I was shocked that this was considered a belgian vareity. It is easy to drink and it did dissappear the quickest from this mixed case, but thats the best I can say about this beer.
2.5Reddish amber, lasting head.Decent spiced nose. Lightly spiced malt taste that disappears quickly...it is what it is...
2.6Bottle. Pour is the color of maple syrup and supports just a little bit of a fizzy beige head. Aromas are of bread and apples with a little bit of a nut and earth side to them. Flavor is a little like gunky apple juice or something... a bit of bread in the finish, but this one needs a little something different to get me excited. As is, it’s not a drainpour, but it’s not something I will revisit.
3.5Tap. Copper pour with a dense, white head and lasting lacing. The aroma is bread, biscuit and noble hops. Nutty, toasty bready, biscuity flavor with a dry, musty finish and some faint noble hop spice. Creamy, medium body with soft carbonation. I had this with a Chicken Michigan Salad and it paired well for a tasty light lunch.
3.2Poured translucent bright red-amber with moderate tan head that subsides to a thin ring. Aroma was bubblegum fruity, floral, rooty-licorice, herbal. Flavor was a soft maltiness, sweet but not overpowering, slight orange, caramel, subtly rooty, and herbal. Palate was light, with slight carbonation biting in the finish. It lives up to its name.
2.9The smell is cocoa, bread, malts, caramel, toasty, and ok. The look is clear, copper colored, ok beige head. The taste is hops, dough, weak, malts, and caramel.
2.6Murky orange with a thin white head that’s gone right away. Aroma of yeast, sweet malt, fruit, citrus and sugar, none of which are overpowering. Body is over carbonated with fruit, sugar and malt, though not very good – somewhat of an off finish. Best thing about the beer was the 13-0 run Bucky dropped on Florida State in the NCAA tournament to start the second half while I was drinking this beer.
2.8Amber in color with a good sized off-white head. Aroma is of cocoa, dough, nuts, caramel and popcorn kernels. Taste is very doughy with some nuts and caramel.
2.9Sample tasting - brown / amber hue with very little head. Malt, caramel and spices nose. Sweet malt with hint of fruit and sour dough flavor.
3.0Bottled. Pours a nice purple color. Bready malted aroma, not all that pleasant. Thick malty up front with a little sweetness. Not much of afinish. Drinkable, but rather boring.
2.7Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bronze-brown color with a large tan head. The aroma was faint with tangy malts and was a touch vegetal. The flavor was tangy, sour, lightly fruity and faintly vegetal. The finish was short, sour and tangy. Eh.
3.2Pours pale cloudy amber, with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malt. Very malty sweet flavor. Aftertaste has a little metallic flavor.
3.0(12 oz. bottle served in tumbler on Nov. 12, 2008) Poured slightly translucent amber copper, one finger white head formed and laced to a degree. Aroma of candy sugar, malt, and yeast. Hits the mouth with low-medium body, malt is apparent, a little light in the middle, finish is closing. I call it an average belgian.
3.1Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a nice, clear deep amber with off-white head. Aroma of some caramel. Flavor of faint caramel, some hop flavor, with slight bitter. Light body with high carbonation. Over all, pretty decent.
2.8bottle, amber colored pour with light head, aroma of sweet malts, flavor is very weak and mostly caramel and hops, finish is mild
3.2Bottle: Poured an amber color with not much head. The aroma was malty with some dried fruit present. The flavor was dried fruit, nuts, caramel, malts and a hint of hops. Overall, a very tasty beer.
3.0tap at hopcat. pours medium amber color. mild hop flavor comes through, along with hints of yeast and malt. like an english mild fermented with belgain yeast.
3.1Bottle: Pours light brown with a small head. Aroma of sweet malts and slight caramel. Flavor of sweet malts. Not bad.
2.812 oz. bottle from Beer Geek. Copper amber color with a decent off-white head. Aroma of citrus and a little spice. Near medium body with rather creamy carbonation. Flavor is rather malty sweet, with some citrus and likely coriander. Seems to be a lot of caramel, and a lot of citrus/coriander to temper it. Despite that it still seems not very bitter. It’s just the wrong type of sweet for a Belgian in my view, and a little more hop might have been an improvement. It’s slowly growing on me though.
3.5Appearance: Dark, redish brown. Not much head.
Aroma: Fruity and malty.
Taste: Fruity and fresh, some hops and malt. Some aftertaste. Flowers, pollen, honey.
Info: 250ml bottle, 22/11-2006, 114/500
3.0Pour is a cloudy/murky brown with a small white head. Aroma is where this one get the bad marks. Almost nothing with just a small whiff of sweet malts. Flavor is much better with coriander and spice with a molasses after taste. Very thick swallow and it gets better in all categories as it warms. An ok beer with its average qualities.
2.8Pours orangish with a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, peppery phenolics, pear, and some spice. Taste is pale malt, yeasty pear, toffee. Medium to full bodied, lightly sticky. Not very impressive.
2.4Pours a light coppery orange (standard bock sort of color I guess) with a healthy creamy white head. The nose is lightly sweet with strong toast, some fruit, and a hint of that coriander. Not a huge fan. The mouthfeel is slightly slipperier and more viscous than average, but not much. The flavor is kind of crappy actually. Toasted lightly acidic mess. Very dry finish. It tastes like some other beer I don’t like... but I cannot put my fingers on it. Overwhelming yeast in the finish.
