Midtfyns Chili Tripel

Midtfyns Chili Tripel

3.2 Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours out dark gold topped with a small head. Nose is big sweet belg candy sugar some spice and peppers. Tatse is more of the nice sweet malts belg notes spice and peppers.
4.4 The only chili beer that makes sense. Sharp aroma without being dominant. Goes well on its own.
3.7 Amber clear with medium off-white head. Slight sweet-sour aroma. Fruit and honey sweet-sourness (mostly sweet) follwed by strong spiciness in the throat.
2.1 Predecessor for the later good chili beers, but this one, is a failed attempt.
3.7 This is very good belgian style strong Beer with a slight burning in aftertaste. no obvious faults. smooth in drinking
3.6 Gift from Chris, thanks Pruf. Dark gold color poured into Blvd tulip glass. Almost no head. Sweet Belgian candy aroma. Baked apple pie crust. Sweet but not overly sweet esters. Flavor has less crust and more candy sugar with a light heat from pepper at the end. Lovethe pepper with the sweet. No hops really. 737316
4.4 Smells and looks worse than it tastes. I’ve drunk a few boxes of these over the years.... Batches can vary, with some more gassy than others. But if I fancy a spicy beer where the spiciness is the main flavour experience then this is my "go to" beer.
3.2 On tap @Ølfred - Aarhus Streetfood. Pours cloudy dark orange, with small head. The scent is intense, a bit sour - notes of lime and yeast. The texture is quite creamy. Cascade hops, Chili in the aftertaste.
3.3 Bottle. Clear orange golden with a tiny small white head. Belgian yeast, banana, vanilla(?), Malt, barley. Taste the same with a spicy aftertaste of chili. Not bad.
2.7 Red brown colour. White head. Sweetish, caramel. Light, warming chili. But mostly sweet. Medium carbonation.
3.3 Bomber from Whole Foods. First off, you have to love the braille on this bottle. Pours turbid coppery with frothy off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, dusty esters, cobwebby fruit. Tastes somewhat sweet, with caramel malt, mild hot pepper, mild pruney fruit, and mild tannins. Well hidden alcohol, and comes off like a slightly hot old ale with a smidgen of barleywine tossed in. Can’t wait to try the Ghost version.
3.4 Botella 50 cl en el lupulo noviembre 2013. Fcpref 07..05..2015. (r314).
3.4 [backlog] 23-04-16 // bottle shared at Sixties, Mainz. Hazy murky orange. Strong malty with nice light pepper chili aroma. Alcoholic.
2.4 0,5l bottle. Amber color, off-white head. Sweet and fruity nose, yeast, hints of grass and spice. Fruity taste, yeast, hint of alcohol. Too Sweet, low bitterness, long lasting taste, finishing off with a chili kick. Thick texture, medium to full body, medium carbonation.
3.0 Gylden brun lett tåkete med lavt beige skum. Lukter trevirke og kokte grønnsaker, spesielt gulrøtter fra Volda, he he. Noe pepperig. Middels fylde. Søtlig start, fudge og brunt sukker. Chilien kommer godt fra mitten og utover.
3.9 Fruity aroma. Fine fruity and sweet taste. In the beginning we do not know of chilli but it will after a while. Wonderful bitterness that fills the mouth forever. A perfectly balanced fruity chilli flavor. This beer is not thirsty anyway. but still hot and strong beer to drink. It just gets better and better. 4.6 Pours a hazy orange/amber. Not a lot of head. Lovely Belgian style triple. The chili is a noticeable and perfect match
3.5 Tap at Black Lion Inn, Norrköping. Brown color. Caramel aromas with hints of chili. Sweet caramel taste balanced by the chili. The chili adds heat, but not so much that it overshadows everything else. Long, slight burning finish.
3.0 Bottle, 50cl. Pours hazy orange-amber with thin off-white head that quickly vanish. Banana, peach, malt, pebber spices in the nose with some easterly sensation. Not much to detect. Flavour of malt, spices, some fruits and hops. Light-medium chili finish with heavy malt sweetness and some warming, rich alcohol as well. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Not that tasty, rather the spiciness of chili both contributes to the overall enjoyable of the beer, while also hides the fact that not much else is going on. Well, guess its not for everyone.
3.0 .5l bottle from the bryghus. The ale poured a golden Amber with a small head that quickly dissipated. This is their biggest seller. Fifteen % of their capacity is dedicated to this beer. You detect some spices and caramel malts on the nose. The ale has a medium body with soft carbonation. The chili kits in after each swallow. There is a final chili bite at the end.
2.7 Copenhagen 9/4 2016. 50 cl bottle from Netto. Chili red label with fine little chili pepper masquerading as "i" in "Tripel". Pours hazy orange with white head. Dissapears quite fast leaving only a small patch of foam. Aroma has some sweetness and a little pepper going on. Not very distinctive. Soft carbonation and suprisingly watery palate. The flavor is a fairly weird experience as it combines a distinct sweetness with a burning sensation. You are not in doubt that you are drinking something chili flavored - but I do not think that it should be added to something quite sugary. On the positive side you do not notice the healthy amount of alcohol in this beer.
3.4 Shared bottle at home. Pours cloudy orange-amber with small white head. Aroma of esters, banana, peach, straw, glue, flowers, alcohol. Taste very sweet with fruit & bread, and a pretty hot finish.
3.1 Previously tried and been a bit confused as to which one of Midtfyns chili beers I have tasted, some of them being named Ghost, Klaus and Tripel. Now, I am not overly fond of chili beers, and the previous ones from Midtfyns did not abide to my tastebuds. Mostly just a watery flavour as the chili kills off all other hope of tasting anything. This however, being a quite potent and sweet tripel really does work quite well. It is fairly deep in colour, and looks quite handsome. Mine came from tap in Oslo. Not a whole lot going on as far as aroma goes, but I would not expect it anyway. The tast is sweet and yeasty salt, a real feeling of having a Belgian beer, but then... Ah, it buuurns! And this is where I normally abandon all hope, but I have to say, that sweetness, the spices and the chili? Really did work for me.
