Midtfyns/De Molen X Porter

3.1 Marrom escuro, espuma de abundante formação, média persistência. Aroma torrado, alcoólico, licor de chocolate. Paladar de médio dulçor e baixo amargor. Corpo médio abaixo do esperado, média carbonatação. Final achocolatado, torrado, adocicado. Razoável.
4.3 Appearance: Very dark brown, enormous amount of creamy, dark tan head. Overflowed the bottle. Aroma: Dark malt, sweet? Coffee notes. Taste: Dark malt, quite a bit of dark fruit. Roasted, slight chocolate. Very nice. Bought: Trade with Bamsen78 - thanks!, 500 ml Info: 22/11-2015, BB: 30/1-2016
3.9 Bottle at Bullerup puppen. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of cocoa, coffe, roast, licorice, light alcohol. Taste is roast, licorice, cocoa, malts, sweet, quite bitter. Well made
4.4 Bottle. Muddy brown colour with huge creamy light brown mostly diminishing head. Aroma is roasted malt. Sweet flavor with strong notes of chocolate. Creamy palate.
4.5 The color is black with very nice tan head. There is at first a cookie like aroma, then comes coffee, licorice and vanilla. Taste is sweet with smokey and licorice flauvour. Well balanced beer all the way. It’s an experience in World class.
4.2 0.5 bottle. Opening accompanied by a new-years-champage-like burst, dark brown color and a medium, (discounting the champagne effect), cream head. Sweet aroma of caramel, dark fruits, delicate molasses, and some wood. Taste is sweet, dark fruity, malty, a tad tart, prune, very well-balanced. Full body, creamy/thick texture, and a flat carbonation. Finish brings even more prunes, more dark fruits, and more unusual sweet and sour goodness. Overall the infrequent burst did not seem to influence the beer’s enjoyability at all and the brew is splendid; the unusual prune-like flavor works well in its favor.
3.9 From old notes. From tap at Copenhagen Olfestival 2012. Black color with beige head. Roasted malty aroma with chocolate licorice and coffee. Sweet and bitter taste, mostly chocolate. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.6 50 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. BB 28-11-2013. App.: Deep brown-black with a decent mocha head. Aroma: Lots of dark chocolate, a touch smoky, very deep, dark, sweet, rich and inviting, milk chocolate, molasses, that grape jelly aroma that I get a lot from big dark beers, a bit of bright berry-like fruitiness, this has held up well. Palate: Medium+ body, somewhat restrained carbonation. Flav.: Lots of slightly bright dark dried fruit (big prune/plum notes), dark chocolate, lightly tart, molasses, a bit of black licorice, so much “fresh” dark dried fruit; off-dry with moderate bitterness and a long, mouth-coating finish that has prune/plum as the main element with a bit of dark chocolate behind it. 1.5 years beyond shelf life and holding up nicely. I have a more recent bottle from LCBO...how will it fare?
3.6 Nice drinking porter. Not that long acquired. A residual bitterness but would have liked to get prime hop flavour.
3.9 Nearly black with frothy light tan head. Roasted aroma, coffee, licorice and chocolate. Flavour has more licorice with a little caramel sweetness and well balanced, lasting bitterness. I get a whiff of smoke or tar. Mouthfeel is creamy, finish gets a little rough. Nice one.
3.7 Draught at 3 Små Rum on February 7, 2015. Black color, dark brown head. Sweet, alcohol, raisin scent. Alcohol, sweet, roasted taste. Some pear aftertaste, also chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
3.7 Pitch black with tan creamy head. Aroma of cocoa, dark chocolate and abit of oak character. Taste is alot of chocolate bitterness, with a long dark chocolate lingering aftertaste. Body is medium to full with good carb.
3.7 On tap at O’Connors. Black with thin mocca head. Aroma with big notes of chocolate and coffee, roasted malt, vanilla and light alcohol. Taste is similar, roasted malt, dark chocolate, light coffee with lingering chocolate in the finish
3.3 0,5l bottle @ Pikkulintu. Pours very dark brown with a low brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and tea bread. Flavor is roasted malts, alcohol, rye bread and some hops. Good.
4.1 [6350-20140526] Bottle. Grainy barley sack aroma. Black body with a long-lasting foamy brown head. Sweet and roasted chocolate malt flavour with a fine finish. Full smooth body. Delicious, very easy to drink. (7/4/9/5/16) 4.1
4.6 500 ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a thick, resilient beige head. Aroma is chocolate, smoke, dark berries, black licorice. Flavor is dark berries, black licorice, purple grapes, chocolate and vanilla. Finish is dark chocolate, burnt caramel, hazelnut, ash, smoke and coffee. Medium to full body, velvety, soft and mellow mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation. Wowzers!
3.5 500 ml bottle from the LCBO. BB 10-04-2015. Black with mocha head. Smells sweet, molasses, cocoa, cola, cherry, sugar. Taste is very sweet with similar notes. Syrupy mouthfeel. 106 IBU stated on the bottle, but doesn’t taste very bitter. This one was in the cellar for a year, I remember it being better fresh.
4.0 500ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a mocha head. Aromas of molasses, cocoa, raisin, dark rum, and a light note of red licorice. The taste has decent bitterness, coffee, red licorice, and dried dark fruits up front, medium sweetness, dark roasty malt notes, espresso, and a light citrusy streak that cuts through the heavy flavours with more date, and raisin. Solid.
4.2 Bottle 50cl. Black with a brown head. Strong coffe and liquorice aroma. Very concentrated rich beer, where the taste is dominated by coffee and chocolate, followed by some dried fruit. Long lasting finish. An absolut great beer.

3.5 Bottle shared with McTapps. Pouring in thick and strong with medium foam and high alc in the first in the nose. Offering vanilla, some coffee and chocolate. Satisfying smoothness combined with vanilla and chocolate in the back. Good one.
3.7 Bottle from trade with Bamsen78 - many thanks, Marcin! The beer pours out in a deep black colour with smooth head and medium body. Aroma of malt and chocolate with some vanilla hints. Taste of malt, roasted coffee beans, espresso, chocolate and torf. Easy and smooth to drink, nice and enjoyable beer.

(Rating #5658)
3.7 0,5 l bole Appearance: black with a strong offwhitehead, leaving a few rings of lacing. Aroma: Dark chocolate . Red fruits (Dates and Raisins) and roasted malts as well. Taste: Starts Swee with roasted malts with coffee , followed by a more chocolate bitterness with red fruit . Then the roastiness increasses some licorice, and ligh ashy tones come in, also at this part the sweetness becomes less befor it stingently finishes it, wich leaves a aftertaste which is roasty and with ligh red fruit and earthy ashy tones. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texure.
3.5 Delicious smell, very foamy head, comes out of the bottle non stop. Taste of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and some candisugar I think. Very full bodied. A tiny bit too sweet.
