Midtfyns Double IPA

Midtfyns Double IPA

English: The Double IPA is an American inspired, dark amber beer with a beautiful light coloured head. The brewer has chosen to dry hop this IPA which adds to the full and complex hop profile of Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. The IPA has a very full body, with a soft yet strong flavour and a very bitter finish - the result has to be experienced. Goes with spicy dishes, but is best enjoyed on its own.

3.7 Bottle, 50cl. Pours bit hazy, amber warm golden colour with foamy, long-lasting off-white head with a bit of yellow twist. Okay. Rich aroma profile. Earthy yeast and bready. Malty underneath. Sweet caramel with citrus fruits. Bit of orange peel. Grassy and slight buttery. Fruity and pine flavour at first. Citrus. Spicy piney hops. Caramel sweetish note to balance things off. Grassy and bitter middle and finish. Lots of grapes as well. Medium-heavy full bodied. Oily texture. Well hidden alhocol. Gets more bitter and less creamy as it warms. Alcohol becomes more profound as well. Perhaps too unbalanced to be really quite something. Still I liked it.
3.7 Clear amber colored, light yellowish foam. Aroma is citrus, The taste is first bitterness then  grapefruit, some sweet notes, hops, hints of caramel, malt and spices, more bitterness. Strong and smooth
2.2 Sweet aroma with some strange off flavor. Fruity, a bit cloying, too heavy for a double IPA. Meh.
3.6 Bottle. 9.2%. Best before 03.05.18. Pours a dense amber/dark orange, with a light tan/yellowish head. Great lacing. Hoppy, slightly citrusy aroma, on a (dark) fruity and somewhat malty background. Flavour is fruity, pine and a bit spicy hops, light caramel note in the background, and with a bitterness creeping in, culminating (exploding) in the finish; really quite bitter; somewhat harsh. Bitterness lingering with a light grassy note and fledgling hints of rubber. Overall this is all about the bitterness, which is the dominating feature; it’s a bit unbalanced, but fortunately I like a high bitterness, so I’ll allow it. Still, it could be nicer with room for more outspoken notes of other things. 10.03.17.
2.4 A danish, foggy, amber Imperial IPA with low head. Aroma is hops, malt, caramel. Taste is very bitter.
3.4 o,33l bottle. Taste is lightly bitter, has a sweet presence of malts, and some sweet potatoes. Hiding it’s alcohol level quite well.
3.0 Rami Rami is drinking a Double IPA by Midtfyns Bryghus at PowiśleTaka normalna, niewyrozniajaca sie. Sa niby tropiki i cytrusy, polslodka, ok w uscie, alko kiepsko schowane... Mily Sredniak Ocena potraktowana skryptem do przeliczania ocen (uzgodnienie UT/RB).
3.9 Hazy orange color with high off-white head. Aroma is citric, orange, caramel. Taste is sweetish, dry mouthfeel, light bitter finish. Nice dipa, lots of different emotions going through my mouth and body. Interesting, good beer.
4.0 Bottle 0,50L. Crystal clear copper color with small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of bready malts, earthy yeasts, caramel and a touch of sweet fruits like mango. Taste starts light sweet and caramely, but it turns fast to a harsh, bitter, herbal and grassy taste with long lasting bitter aftertaste. ABV is not obvious in taste, but it warms you a bit, after a while.
3.0 Pours cloudy copper. Aroma is hoppy, grass, slightly buttery. Taste is harsh hops, butter. Slightly metallic.
3.4 750ml bottle at home. Great piny aroma but not as hop forward or bitter as you would expect from a DIPA. I taste lots of apricots. Enjoyed it, a good beer, but nothing too special.
1.6 Appearance: orange hazy, minimal head Aroma: the aroma was not intense, hints of mango pineapple rootfruits brusselsprouts and alchoholy. concidering its a dipa, the alchohol shold be better masked by the hops, which in turn does not mask or give great aromas, and this was supposed to be dry hopped! Taste: yes there is some bitterness, the amounts that could be expected from a regular ipa. Palate: medium to low body, oily texture, flat carbonation. Overall: this beer underperforms on everything, feels like the aromatic hops was reduced to save on costs. A dipa shold perform better than this. felt a bit massproduced and synthetic without heart and soul. Alchoholy, low in aroma, boring sensation, boring to look at, and the bitterness was at best at a ipa-level.
2.9 bottle. Poured muddy dark amber with a thin tan head. Citrusy hop aroma. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel with an astringent finish. Bitter, resiny hop flavour, note of apricot and some warming alcohol.
3.3 Tasted from the tap on the 11/02/2016. Amber color with off white head. Aroma of malts and citrus aroma. Taste is floral, caramel, toffee, and pine hoppy, Bitter and dry finish. Next one please!
4.0 Rødgyldne klar skum hvid Citrus humle grape græs Bitter meget sød lidt Livlig tør @ døe
3.7 Redbrown golden, with medium off-white head, a lot of hops in the aroma, tropical fruit, mango, maracuja, some yeasty smell, bready, little bit of alcohol, medium to heavy sweetness, medium bitterness, long bitter finish, oily feel, soft carbonation, smells better than it tastes
3.6 Flaska. Medelbeska.
3.6 Bottle from systembolaget sweden. Big and lasting beige head. Clear solid golden color. Small citrus hop aroma. Fresh hoppy taste with a balanced bitterness. Nice body with low leftover sweetness.
3.3 Copenhagen 30/10 2015. 50 cl bottle from Føtex. Angry Elephant on the label to remind us that this is a IPA. Got pretty big tusks for a Indian Elephant. Pours hazy orange with small white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. A little lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma of sweet exotic fruit like peach and mango. A little citrus and some boozy notes. Soft carbonation and oily texture. Taste is quite bitter and hoppy and a bit boozy. A little fermented fruit and citrus as well. Aftertaste is bitter with medium dry finish. I actually do not think that the Elephant has anything to look angry about.
3.3 Flaska från SB. Brungul vätska med vitt skum. Doftar karamell. Smakar karamell och torkad frukt. Bastant i beskan.
3.7 Pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Aromas of grapefruit, peach, apricot, pine. Taste is quite bitter and astringent. Mouthfeel is somewhat dry and coarse.
3.4 Gylden brun lett tåkete med to fingre høyt beige skum. Kraftig bitterhet, sitrusskall. Får også noe kakao, kaffefornemmelse. Varer lenge. Lite sødme
3.5 Hazy, copper colour with dense, full head. Malty aroma, citrus tones. Full body, very bitter, some fruit behind.
3.4 Bottle. Pours a reddish colour with almost no head. Aroma is malts. Taste is malts, caramel and some hops. Not the best of its style but still a decent beer.
3.1 Bottle from Systembolaget. Amber with a white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, grass and some cookies. Similar taste. Also some caramel and more malt than in a "normal" DIPA. The body was medium and the finish bitter.
