4.0 Bought at Systembolaget, Sweden in November 2013. This bottle has been resting in my beercellar for 2 year an 6 months. Best before: September 17, 2014. The stout pours clear, dark brown with a two finger high beige, head. Lacing stays on the glass. Nose: Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee ground. Taste: Chocolate, cacao beans, oak, roasted malt, coffee, molasses, anise and fennel. Mouth: Complex structure. Medium to light carbonation. Smooth taste. This beer has definitely grown better with aging. Not as aggressive as when it was new. Very mature and smooth. The star anise and fennel seeds is there in the background just lifting the taste a bit.
3.2 Med de to krydderier (stjerneanis og fenikkel) bliver det virkelig en fyldig og smagsfuld. Den er meget kompleks og har en let sødme og lethed der gør den perfekt til en julefrokost, eller andre danske retter.
3.4 nuts, coffee, chocolate, roasty, earthy, soy sauce, spicy, alcohol. Dark Brown colour, small beige head. Salty, noticably sweet, lightly bitter, rich flavourful ABV well integrated. Medium body, soft carbonation, salty finish.
3.6 Farven er sort med en lysebrun skumkrone. Aromaen er sød lakrids fennikel og anis medens smagen er kaffe, kakao, bitter chokolade og lakrids.

3.7 (Bottle) Black colour with lasting, creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of liquorice, dark chocolate, raisins, coffee, black rye bread and a touch of anise. Malty, roasted taste with liquorice, dark chocolate, coffee, black rye bread, anise, a touch of orange peel and a balanced cacao bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, fairly dry. Tasty and well made stout with a spicy liquorice/anise character. Nice one.
4.0 Spændende og god juleøl. Masser af krydderier og sødme. En rigtig juleklassisker.
3.0 Tap@taphouse, Copenhagen - Black pour with thin beige head. Aroma and taste is malty medium sweet and toasty, some liquorice notes, aniseed, caramel, pretty watery overall.
3.6 Tap at Fairbar. Black body with a beige head. Sweet aroma with intense anise notes. Sweet malty taste with medium bitterness. The anise flavour is rather dominating. This will probably be a turnoff for some, but I like it. Medium body with foamy carbonation. The finish is almost pure anise. This is a pretty good seasonal stout.
2.9 Bottle @ Fox & Hounds, Sønderborg. Pours hazy dark ruby with profuse beige head. Clear aroma of east and caramel malt, with fruity and hoppy notes. Sweetish taste of caramel malt and yeast, with notes of cinnamon and touches of hops and spices. Sweetish aftertaste. Drinkable but not stouty at all.
3.2 Den bäska julen på länge, skulle ordvitsaren kunna ha sagt. I det här sammanhanget avstår vi från sånna tramsigheter och tackar i stället en överdos av humle för en udda upplevelse under julhelgen.
3.6 500ml bottle. Pours pitch black in this low light while wathing the ESC... Interesting aroma... Like the dough of sour bread, a bit like Guiness. Sour fizziness. Not outstanding though.

4.0 Served on bottle. Stored for 4 months, in fridge for 24 hours. Black beer with a big light brown head, that stays for a long time. Aroma consists of liqourice, raisins, roasted malt. Taste is a good balance between sweet an bitter with a tend to the bitterness, which is fine in this case. Aftertaste shows a little bit of alcohol, though.
3.1 Light brown, hazy enough and a visible carbonation aided head. Greasy fennel and liquorice party, up front unrestricted spices. Taste is unsurprisingly fainter, lean bitterness and cooling roast and spicy carbonation. Finishes greases spice and tinny roast linger. Bottle, BOE, TAD Tasting
