3.60,33 l bottle as a gift.
Hazy amber ale witha nice creamy off white head. Aroma of cheese, some malt, elderberries, green apples. Really freaky. Medium body, light maltiness backbone with an aggressive hopiness. The cheese arrives again with a fruity background, some nuts in the flavor. Interesting - and fine, the hops numble my palate.
3.7Bottle from Bierkompass!
Pours hazy orange with flat soapy head. Smells strong hoppy, lots of pine woods and citrus fruits. Starts with massive hops, pine woods, sourish citrus notes and some tropical fruits. Goes into a very bitterish grassy hop finish with lots of pine woods, tropical fruits and some slight caramel malts. What a massive aroma bomb, wow!!!!!
3.0Clear orange beer with thick foamy head on top and lots of lacing. Aroma has tropical fruits, citrus, grapefruit, pines and grassy hops. Taste starts with grassy hops, then turns into this monstrously bitter pine flavor which is rather unpleasant and there isn’t much else. For a curiosity beer this is still a below average beer, medium body and crispy mouth feel.
3.4Wow this thing is bitter. CLear dull copper pour with decent offwhite sudsy head. Big old foresty pine nose gives way to an extremely grassy, floral, earthy, massive bitterness. Overly bitter to be very enjoyable. more of just a novelty.
3.7[Bottle (11.2oz)] Pours a hazy orange-copper with some sediment and an average size rocky off-white head. Some lacing on the glass. Nice hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, grass and pine, and not much else really -- and I don’t mind. Flavour: Yup, that’s bitter alright -- it’s hops, hops and hops and a big long, long bitter finish. Such a high IBU for such a low ABV. Medium bodied. An interesting beer for sure, I enjoyed it.
3.3Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a cloudy gold with a small white head. The aroma has floral, citrusy, sweaty, almost dank hops, sweet and pale and bready malts. The flavor starts floral and citrusy and eventually gives way to straight bitterness. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a harshly bitter mouthfeel. Just no malt balance, which is what redeems the pretty nice regular 1000 IBU.
2.8Tap sample. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate hop and malt aroma. Medium bitter flavor with a heavy acidic finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Worth having once brew.
3.7Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Mostly clear orange yellow color. Good thin white head, good ropes of lace. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky texture. Medium body. Good citrusy, lightly grassy bitter hoppy taste, with a good long resiny hoppy aftertaste that lasts quite a bit. Impressive, massive bitter taste, minimal sweet. Extreme bitter, but not painful, I like it. Light body makes it drinkable. Impressive stuff.
2.9Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden /light amber color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have faded citrus and grassy hopswith general bitterness and not much other flavor. Not very good.
2.9Draft to taster. Looks solid; malty though. A cloudy orangish brown with thin off-white head. Smells and tastes of bitter hops with a thin, unbalanced backbone. Meh.
3.7I choose "Mikkeller 1000 IBU" from the beer list and got this "light version". Not bad but a bit unbalanced as the body is quite thin due to heavy piny bitterness. I definitely want to taste the "proper" Mikkeller 1000 IBU in the future too.
3.1330ml bottle, probably quite old by now. Murky orange pour with a huge foamy head. Classic hoppy nose with sweeter malt notes. Cat piss, berry fruit and pine sums it up. Momentary sweet hit on the tongue before bitterness demolishes everything in its path. Successful as a concept but not so enjoyable to drink.
3.1Bottle; Pour is murky golden / caramel with a frothy, two finger off white head in this glass. It retains well, and there is some spotting here - The nose is heavy hopped; grass and pine here, but there are some sweet undertones present here as well - caramel and sweet bread, to be precise. The flavor profile is pretty one dimensional though - the hop profile is muddied yet dominant, but it barely makes any sense on my tongue. It’s just unbalanced, with a malt profile that barely rounds things out at the end - its something to try.. i guess. I wouldn’t bother.
3.511.2oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a one finger frothy off-white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, grassy hops, sweet caramel and bready malts.
Taste is, citrus, pine, grassy hops, resiny bitterness, sweet caramel and bready malts, some candied hops. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a dry, bitter, resiny finish.
3.2This beer is crazy bitter but nice for teaching you what hops taste like. A nice red color with a good head of foam. This is NOT the beer if you want something balanced & sharing it is recommended.
3.8I thought this was great.. such an intense flavour experience. a really well done beer i thought. one to share though
3.2This is the most bitter beer I have ever had. Not much flavor. No fruity taste or hops. Just pure bitterness. You need to have a glass of water with this one.
3.7010813. Bottle at Nordic, Tampere. Pours hazy copper with a small head. Aroma hops, citrus. Not the freshest bottle but I think it’s a good thing. Not Bad.
2.5Mikkeller. American pale ale. 4.9%. 1000 IBU. La plus grosse amertume que j'ai bu de ma vie. Un peu grillé. Pamplemousse (pelure). Ça fini pu d'être amer.
2.4Bottled shared at home. Pours a slighlty cloudy yellow with thin white head. Smells amazing, if only all PA/IPAs could smell like this. Tons of floral and citrus hops, resin and pine. On the taste this beer falls apart. It becomes more a thing to be endured than enjoyed.
3.4Bottle at Barrelhouse Flats. Poured a hazy orange with nice white head with lace. Aromas of some pine and citrus. Quite smooth insanely bitter with hints of hops in there some where. Unique glad I got to try.
1.5Really undrinkable. A big, unbalanced, dry bitterness all the way. Kills all the flavours.
3.0Pineish, somecitrus. Rubar. A bit of caramel. Harsh, a bit thinnish. Malts, some green hop flavor. A bit thin, but bitter, us-style ipa. Palate cleanser.

3.1Awesome bitterness. Golden colour. Smell of hops. Amber colour, creamy head. Aroma of hops and spruce.
3.3Botella. Buena presencia dorada oscura con corona blanca, densa y persistente. Aroma cítrico y tropical predominando sobre resto de aromas. En boca es descompensada muy amarga, y notas licorosas que para nada tienen que ver con los grados y tiene un agradable final
2.7Bottled. Orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, notes of resins and pine. Flavor has a decent bitterness at the beginning with citrus and floral hops present; the final is strong bittery, very uncompensated and very dry on palate with a very high astringency.
4.5Chmielna klasa. Jeszcze tak gozkiego piwa to nie pilem. Aromat wiadomo chmielowy lekko cytrusowy, zywiczny i trawiasty. Smak chmiel i chmiel tylko. Dominuje wlasnie ten skladnik, finisz jakze mialo by byc inaczej gorycz niesamowita. Przy takim nachmieleniu po prostu wlosy staja deba.
3.5From Bird of Paradise Liquors, obviously. Did not realize this was retired. I imagine it’s lost a few hundred IBUs over the...time. Huge head. Starts out watery, turns brutally bitter, which is fine by me. Still lots of hops in this, though they do feel aged. Reminds me of a DFH 120 minute IPA, even the booziness a bit. Weirdz.
2.4330 ml bottle, rated from backlog. Nose with flowery piney hops with some toasted bread and caramel hidden behind this hop wall. Taste is harsh and insanely hoppy. Unbalanced and not very pleasant to drink. Fun idea thou, as always.
