3.7 Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of leather, coffee, licorice, pumpernickel, earth and port wine. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, leather, wood and licorice. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Carbonation is bit too high and body too light. Bit peculiar aroma. Not worth the money. Weasel is a lot better.
3.9 Bottle. Pours a reddish dark brown (almost black). Short lasting, brown head. Aroma has lots of light roasted, fruity coffee, roasty malts, dark cocoa powder without the sweetness. Slight fudgy caramel. Taste is sweet up front with dates and some figs, lots of light roasted coffee. Very mild and with a slightly cola-like caramel. Mild body and low carb.
3.8 375 ml. bottle. Thanks Nikos! Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, malt, and chocolate. Taste is coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, and licorice. Nice.
3.3 Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, molasses, raisins and almost sour cherries. Taste is coffee and chocolate, but also slightly bitter, almost sour. Tastes more like a foreign stout than an imperial stout. Might just be my bottle, but I’m a bit underwhelmed. Body is fairly light, smooth, with average carbonation.
3.7 Medium beige head very dark mahogany pour almost black medium carbonation aromas spice wine rich fruit malts dried fruit the flavours caramel dried fruit fig roast coffee malt chocolate woody note pear vanilla ginger touch medium bitter not a taste that really is high class the finish best tastes the malts medium bitter but have tasted a lot better from these people
4.0 Bottle @ dangerous bottleshare 5.0 . Pours almost black with a brown lacing. Aroma is very coffee forward with a very fruity coffee aroma. I also get some cocoa, caramel and some roasted malts. Really delicate ’cold coffee’ aroma. The taste is like cold coffee with lots of light roasted fruity coffee, also some caramel, cocoa, very light roasted malts and a weak note of dark and dried fruits. The mouthfeel is very thin compared to the original - but this was still very pleasing to drink!
4.0 Bottle split 5 ways as part of Dangerous Bottleshare 5.0. Bottle from the recent batch brewed at Kødbyen. Nose has loads of roast, some licorice and tons of freshly ground coffee. Taste is fairly coffee forwarded, some light soy, licorice and some dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but still pretty good stuff.
3.9 Pours dark dark brown with a small offwhite head. Aromas of light roasted fruity coffee, cocoa, some hops, licorice, roasted malts, caramel, fudge. Taste is chocolate, fudge, fruity coffee forward, roasted malts, some dark fruits.
4.2 Pours black with no head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, muscovado sugar, honey, slight liqourice. Taste is chocolate, coffee, honey, slight liqourice, roasted malts, roasted nuts, vanilla. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with no carbonation.
4.2 37.5 cl bottle @ home (part of the Small Brew Series). Pours black with a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, tobacco, and liquorice - with a slightly bitter finish.
3.3 (25 cl bottle courtesy of Ungstrup. Big thanks!; Bbd: October 1st 2009) Pours pitch black with no head. Aroma is butter, oatmeal, toffee and perhaps some oak. Oily texture, flat carbonation, full body and a sweet yet slightly bitter finish. Flavour is sweet and slightly bitter.
4.3 Major rarity brought by Ungstrup and shared with the Danes, thanks! Pours the color of dark chocolate, no head. Aroma is phenomenal: bitter chocolate, soy, maple, wild mushrooms, no alcohol heat. Taste is bitter chocolate, caramel, creamy espresso, almonds. Slight boozy finish. Delicious.
3.8 Bottle - black pour almost no head. Roasted malty aroma and taste, caramel, vanilla, chocolate cake like, coffee, dark dried fruity, roasted finish. lovely drop.
4.1 Bottle with thanks to Jan!! Pours inky black with no initial head, but a secondary small brown head that forms after several seconds and slowly dissipates to a ring that leaves pretty decent lacing. Aroma is rich cocoa, roasted malts, anise, and some smoke. Flavor is similar, medium sweet, somewhat smokey and lightly bitter. Smoky ash and lingering bitterness in the finish. Interesting almost ham flavors that somehow don’t distract like meat usually does. Some coffee notes as well. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Quite a nice little beer.
4.0 250 ml bottle from Ølbutikken sampled in 2008. Pitch black body with a small, quite dense dark beige head. Strong aroma of dark, roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, mocha and fruit. Flavor is sweet, dark, roasted malt, salt liquorice, chocolate, coffee and fruity bitterness. Full body and long, strong aftertaste. A fine and complex beer.
Min bedste Mikkeller-oplevelse?
3.9 Poured from a 25 cl bottle into a Konings Hoeven chalice. Bottle says: "Holdbar til 1/10-2009." Pours a near black with small dark head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel, espresso. Medium carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of burnt coffee, dark roasted malts, burnt malts, bitter chocolate, dark toast, smoke. This is obviously a bit past it’s prime but still has lots of tasty flavors along with some oxidation.

4.2 Draught @ CBC2013. Pours viscous pitch black with a s,all creamy dark mocha head that quickly dissipates while leaving a very small trace on the glass. Smell is slightly sweet, malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, burnt caramel, moist soil, charred wood, bitter chocolate, coffee hard candy and very subtle hints of green pepper. Taste is bitter and malty with heavily roasted malts, dark roast coffee, charred wood, moist soil, unripe coffee berries, burnt caramel, oatmeal cookies, bitter chocolate, coffee hard candy and hints of pine needles and grass. Mouthfeel is slightly round, roasted astringent, tiny dry, tiny fruity tart and near full bodied. Finish is bitter with heavily roasted malts, pumpernickel bread, dark roast coffee, salty licorice candy, unripe coffee betties, charred wood and burnt cookies. Very heavy and very tasty...
