Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (Calvados Edition)

Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (Calvados Edition)

Nogle mener endda, at kaffen øger sexlysten!

En Imperial Oatmeal Stout brygget på: vand, malt, humle, gær og vietnamesisk ca phe chon kaffe.

4.5 Pitch black, tan dissipating head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, booze, light apple, calvados, red fruits, cherry, pear, lots of coffee. Creamy, boozy flavour, sweet caramel, smooth mocha, cacao. Quite thick and creamy. Finish coffee, malts, apple, calvados, lingering liquorice. Smooth, drinkable, yet intense. Brilliant! (from 37.5cL bottle procured & shared @ Mikkeller Bar Victoriagade)
4.1 Bottle shared with BBGTC. Pours a thick black producing a small tanned head. Complex aroma with loads of espresso, wood, leather, ash, alcohol and roasted malts. Taste is sweet with notes of wood, coffee, roasted malts and some warming alcohol. Slick mouthfeel, soft co2 and full bodied.
4.1 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 3 Oct 2014) Black colour with brief head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, cacao, liquorice, oak wood and mild hints of calvados. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, liquorice, salmiak, cacao, soy sauce, oak wood and gentle flavours of calvados. Full body, with a touch of sweetness, but actually drier than expected. Generous coffee bitterness. Exceptionally well balanced, with the calvados barrel evident but never becoming too much. Lovely beer!
4.0 I’m not entirely sure I prefer the Calvados aging here. Has some light brandy tang. Still lots of roast. Pours black with good head and lacing. Dark chocolate and big coffee. Fairly bitter finish. Bottle pour from Churchkey’s 5th anniversary.
4.0 Bottled@sbwf14. Black colored, brown head. Vanilla, woody, sweet, hazelnut type aroma. Flavor has licorice., alcohol, wood, vanilla, dark chocolate. Smooth stuff. Oily. Enjoy warm. Awesome but I expected more of course.
4.5 "Another frikkin awesome beer with the weasel poo!!! I’m SO glad they started giving Brunch Weasel (one of my favorites) the various barrel treatments. they aren’t better, per se, than the base, but gives me more reasons to drink this, and they have all been epic so far. i wouldnt have thought apple brandy and imperial coffee stout would be so good together, but i was wrong. sweet, luscious, decadent...just enough roast and bitter to balance. wonderful beer in every way! "
3.8 Pours black into a tulip. Dark chocolate, pit fruit and espresso aromas. Thick with sweet and tart pit fruit upfront turning to mocha espresso in the lasting fruity hot chocolate finish.
4.2 8.5oz bottle at least a year old. Pours black with a ring of a tan head. Aroma is huge. Slightly tart notes of dark chocolate, coffee, barrel, and dark fruit. Awesome! Taste is a slight tart with dark chocolate, coffee, booze, barrel notes, and a warm, alcohol after feeling. Full body with a low-medium carbonation. Not as full of a mouth feel but very very smooth and silky. Overall awesome. Thinner mouth feel than the base but sliky smooth. Big barrel and booze notes. A touch tart.
4.4 25cl bottle at home. poured a dark black colour with a small bubbling tanned head. dark chocolate, strong bitter coffee, espresso, fruity apples, ripe fruits, raisins, oak, some hint of smoke. very thick and full bodied mouthfeel. roast, hints of alcohol, calvados. wow big notice of the calvados barrel. for me the calvados aging on this one is way better as the george. outstanding beer! could sip this every evening
3.9 A very interesting little brew with a punch and tons of aged barrel flavour. The pour is a gloopy pure black with a thin tan head that subsides quickly. The nose has big, boisterous roasted characters including espresso and bitter chocolate. The barrel aging lends mild woody and earthen characters to the aroma as well as slightly sweet and fruity flavours in the middle. Extremely complex profile with earthy and sweet malts and fruits in good balance. The finish has some heat to it.
4.7 Small bottle. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas and flavors are just as excellent as the base brunch with a little more fruit but a tad more alcohol and drier finish. I need a cellar of this stuff.
4.5 Pours pitch black with low deep tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, dried fruit, muscovado and some form of barrels (not necessarily calvados). Taste is amazing! Big, sweet, vanilla, milk chocolate and probably calvados or cognac barrel notes, followed by just the right amount of coffee bitter to balance out the finish. Body is rich and creamy with low carbonation. This is an amazing beer!
4.4 Bottle shared at Mikkeller Bar. Pours a this pitch black beer with a very small beige ring of head on top. Aroma is marvelous, loads of apple, booze, ripe pear, cinnamon, oak and raisins. Flavor is incredibly sweet, loads of alcohol, red fruits, molasses, licorice in the back. Amazing well balanced, smooth drinkable, yet intense. Amazing brew.
3.7 Bottle pours black almost flat, aroma is big wood, alcohol, and warm dark fruits. Taste is intense coffee and roast up front that quickly moves to big booze and wood with a light alcohol finish. Not worth it for me
4.2 Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, dried fruit, wood, tomato paste, vanilla, toffee and soy. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of licorice, toffee, raw sugar, wood, soy, vanilla and coffee. Full bodied with low carbonation. Great.
2.5 Aroma: Smokey, Boozy Appearance: Dark Opaque Hue, Passes Almost No Light, Brown Head Ring, Minimal Lacing Taste: Ashtray, Boozy Mouthfeel: Average Carbonation, Medium to Full Bodied, Smokey
2.2 This beer sucks. Total ashtray action. Medium body. Worse than BA old scaly wag you bunch of rascals.
4.4 Really good beer. I had been saving this for a couple of years and finally had an occasion to give it a try. Poured pitch black, with boozy/smokey/roasty/woodsy notes. Flavor was similar to the aroma profile. Nice and dry, nice booze, warming at the end.
4.0 Bottle 25 cl. Pours a thick, pitch black with very little head. Very low in carbonation. This pours an almost syrupy viscous. Lovely mellow wooden, oxidized aroma blending in perfectly with sweet vanillaish roast and a subtle coffee note. Ends warming but never boozy. A lovely sipper. 030414
4.5 I really do love apple brandy stouts. Why does this work so well?? Rich roasty, nutty, oaky, brandy, chocolate, dark fruits, raisin. So smooth and velvety.
4.4 yea its that good, i HATE to pay $2/oz for a beer but its huge roasty and ashy, and i got money so screw it, ill buy it again, amazing.
4.4 Pours an opaque black with a small brown ring. Aroma is full and complex brandi, chocolate, light roasted malts and latte/mocha. Taste is brandi, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and a nice well balancing bitterness and alcohol warmth. Nice full bodied and creamy texture round out this great beer... Perfect to pair with pancakes for breakfast.
4.3 Pours an opaque black with no head. Aroma is sweet apple brandy, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, some faint oak like notes, and a touch of licorice. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, licorice, faint alcohol, dark dried fruits, and a nice velvety mouth feel.
3.9 Tiny ass 250 bottle courtesy of Bobby Dale. Bitter euro stout malt. Has some sweet and boozy in the nose. Tastes is a sweet and bitter very dark stout. Has some apple brandy sweetness but not bet overpowering. Had this next to the cognac weasel and this was much better and retained a lot more of the barrel.
4.1 Pours black with an espresso brown head that dissipates. The foam ends up sticking to my glass. The aroma is full of noticeable semi sweet brandy with mild to medium coffee scents, rich chocolaty notes, and there is a defined aroma of sweet roasty malts. In tasting I picked up on pleasant sweet booze from the brandy, bitter cocoa, weak possible coffee flavor, medium roasted malts, with the addition of sweet crystal malts, and lastly there is a mild rauch like taste. The finish is short but dominated by the boozy dryness with sweet undertones of malts and bitter chocolate. Overall what a great beverage this is. The only thing I?m not crazy about was the intimidating booze character and yet to my surprise it did not impact my palate much. Still nonetheless this is on beverage to sip and a great one to try.
4.7 Schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade. Wunderbar!
4.1 Poured from a bottle and shared it is a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is coffee and calvados. The taste is coffee and chovolarte with the wonderful finish of the boozey calvafod
4.0 From an 8,5 oz bottle shared in Bozeman MT. Pours black with a tan head.Aroma of oak and figs. Flavors also include coffee and a hint of chocolate. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Smooth, slightly boozy finish.
4.2 Bottle. Dark chocolate, oatmeal, and calvados aroma. Oil black with minimal head. Sweet dark chocolate, oatmeal malt, and calvados flavor. Body lighter than I would have expected. Still nice.
