4.0Dark brown, almost black, no head.
Aroma: iodine, tar, turf.
Taste: dry, roasted, spicy bitterness.
Flavour: tar, iodine, burned tires, smoked bacon, charcoal, residual coffee notes.
Grassy hops in the ends.
Very good and unusual.
3.6Sample, BOTTLE 50 CL. Vintage 2009. Pitch black, dark espresso head. Super strong band aid and iodine aroma, some burnt rubber. Dry roasty taste, marginal notes of dark malts and coffee, hints of chocolate. Iodine. No coffee. Loads of charred wood. Some hoppy bitterness. Really weird, but still good after 8 years.
4.0Bottle a black colored beer with a tiny white-off head aroma roasted malts spicy coffee chocolate mocha caramel dried fruits peat oak and smoke flavor roasted malts spicy coffee dried fruits chocolate caramel mocha dried fruits oak caramel smoke and some hops
3.8Pitch black color. Lots of iodine, roasted malt, acidity, oak, slightly too sweet. With some ash. Not bad but not mind blowing
4.2Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
3.2Black color with a bit of really dark brown foam. Aroma has intense peat, rubber, dark liquorice, smoked dried figs. Taste follows with the peated notes, really intense roasted malt and burnt coffee bitterness. Really heavy body, feels like hot chocolate. If you like peated beer or scotch this is for you, if not, stay away because it’s really intense and overpowering.
4.0Bottle 330ml.Pours black with beige head.Aroma is peated, with some wood and smoke.Medium mouthfeel with low carbonation. Taste has the peated whiskey touch too, with some espresso in the aftertaste.
4.10,33 l bottle
alcohol, woody, earthy, roasty, mostly: Islay Whisky Aroma.
Dark brown-black color, minimal brown foam headlight sweetness, lightly bitter, salty, full body, sticky, oily feel, thick feel, soft carbonation, long finish,
4.0Bottle. Teku. Pitch black with moderate, thick, light brown, moderately aggressive head. Good head retention and poor to moderate lacing. Moderately roasted malts aromas - mainly milk chocolate, some coffee, partly covered by moderate Islay (peated) whiskey notes. This brings up front some wooden, barrel, dry, harsh and raw notes, which is somehow quite interesting. Moderately sweet and moderately bitter - long, stable. Medium body, oily and thick texture, soft carbonation, finish is dry, semi-bitter, seated, wooden, slightly boozy. In overall really good brew with nice seated, BA accents.
4.3Bottle in Mikkeller bar Copenhagen. Black as night, thin dark head, delicate aroma of good Islay Scotch with some malty and coffee notes on background. Wellrounded full body, sweet coffee, chocolate and Islay works great! A good combination.
4.2Bottiglia, 33 cl. best before 05/08/2016, aperta il 1° dicembre 2016.
2.0Tap - perhaps a slight bourbon aroma, but nothing really discernable. Taste is well balanced sweetness with bitter, but with no flavours coming to the fore, it's good but rather nondescript, going down with very little taste profile at all, just ending on a slight bitter note. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden. I wouldn't order again, coz seriously the taste is very weak, possibly due to wverything cancelling each other out, but whatever the reason, it's like drinking flavoured water with a strong alcohol warmth.
3.9Taphouse, black with a beige head, aroma of peat, salty, coffee, chocolate, caramel, flavor of peat, coffee, iodine, chocolate, sticky, medium to full bodied, Great
4.3Bottle. Black in colour, creamy beige head. Aroma is mainly Islay whisky with roastiness, chocolate from stout. In taste sweetish, smoky with coffee aftertaste. Full bodied, oily, creamy, soft carbonation, finish was sweetish. Something for the fans of Islay, because it on the first plan here, still really tasty beer.
3.7Sampled from 0.5 l bottle. Sweetish, malty and rather peaty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, ash and iodine. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and slightly peaty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, ash, tar and some iodine, followed by a medium long, slightly roasty-bitter, moderately peaty finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
MIKKELLER BAR Aarhus. 0,2/65 DKK. Tap.
4.2backlog. green bottle. Pitch black with a brown head. Peaty aroma along with chocolate, mocha, roast. Creamy and velvety mouthfeel. Extremely nice
4.3Nice beige head, quickly dissapearing. Aroma full of chocolate, coffee, roast, vanilla, soy sauce, licorice, woody, whisky. Fantastic. Very sweet taste with alcoholic finish. Full of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Full bodied. Alcohol 10.9% is very well hidden. Carbonation medium leveled. Awesome Imperial Stout.
3.6330 ml bottle. Pours a ruby reddish black with a short lived beige head. Aroma is iodine, peat, chocolate, wood, molasses. Flavor is chocolate, peat, wine, whiskey. Finish is oldish, woody, salty. Lingering dark grapes. Full body, velvety mouthfeel and weak carbonation.
4.1Bottle brought back by Steve and Mel from Copenhagen. Dark brown with a dark mocha head that settles down to a thin film. Very smooth, bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt, a nice islay presence with a warming booziness - if scotch isn’t your thing probably not going to like this unless you let it age for a bit an settle down. Full body with moderate carbonation, slightly bitter, peat, tobacco, delicious.
4.1Bottle. Warm asphalt, coffee, sweet chocolate, fruit esters. Notes of leather and tobacco. Creamy, thick almost as syrup, coffeeish like a fresh made espresso, slick and almost perfectly smooth (almost, because of the sharp peat notes). Sweet and full bodied, hence balancing the bitterness really well. Creamy, brown, durable head. Awesome.
4.310.9%ABV. Imperial Stout.
Nose has charcoal with mesquite coming to mind. The smoke takes on an almost chemical dimension with liniment coming to mind.
Mouthfeel is syrupy. Palate has smoke, Japanese bamboo charcoal, mesquite briquets, black honey, Chinese lo han guo, scientific name Siraitia grosvenorii. This fruit is used in Chinese medicine to sweeten otherwise unpalatably bitter brews. The sweet malt in this bear of an ale is just that dark, smoky, medicinal and nectary. No hops
Nice alcoholic heat in the back of the throat to finish.

4.1Tap @ Mikkeller Aarhus. Aroma of smoke, whisky, caramel, coffee, dark chocolate. Black colour with tan head, not lasting. Taste is moderate malt bitter and light+ sweet, more whisky. Full body, creamy texture, avg. carb., smokey whisky finish.
3.8Black with a light beige head. Aroma is chocolate, peated whiskey, smoke, hint of coffee, plum, leather. Full bodied, sticky mouthfeel, smoky on the palate with a balancing rich sweetness and a touch of roast on the finish. Taste is chocolate, smoke, whiskey, coffee, hint of chicory, leather.
