3.8 The Aromas are roast, black patent, molasses with no coffee. Black beer with a large thick long lasting tan head. Flavors are slightly more sweet than bitter, similar to nose with a little coffee coming through in the Finish. Good body. I'm liking the beer more as I drink it.
3.2 Bottle. A- Roasty, slightly charred, burnt coffee. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Bitter, roasty, espresso. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- Okay. The coffee really comes across as a bitter earthy espresso. A bit of lactose helps cut through that but not enough for me. Said it was best by 2027. Seems like a long shelf life to me.
4.0 330ml bottle at home. Dark, nearly black pour, creamy tan head with good retention and lacing. Milk chocolate, dark malt, vanilla, cappuccino. Super soft, pillowy carb/texture, medium-full body. Lingering, sweet chocolate milk and vanilla finish. Just excellent.
4.2 33 cl bottle at Polar, Madrid. Very dark pour, almost pitch black, with an immense mocha-colored head. Aroma is chicory, coffee, cooking sauces (such as soy or Maggi or Lea & Perrins), black pepper. Very dense, creamy and slick. Very bitter and rather pungent, with a long-lasting aftertaste. Good.
3.7 From a bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of cocoa and coffee. Flavors are sweet milk chocolate with some bitter espresso.
3.3 16 fl oz can pours deep opaque brown with thick tan head. Aromas of dark cocoa, espresso and roast malt. Tastes of mocca chocolate, roast coffee, brown sugar, latte and Tia Maria liqueur. Viscous syrupy mouthfeel and low carbonation. Long finish with almost no bitterness and plenty of residual sugar. The intense sweetness makes this one a little one-dimensional and the flat white concept is lost.
4.0 Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, roastyness, chocolate, coffee, light vanilla in taste, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty coffee bitter sweet finish. Good.
4.0 Dark roast coffee aroma. Surprisingly carbonated appearance. Taste is also dark roast, oatmeal and lactose come through in the aftertaste. Slick palate. Some of the beer geek variants are just capitalizing on the name but this one really is great.
3.5 zwart met volle bruine kraag., aroma van chocolade, geroosterd, gebrand, moutig, koffie, vanille, haver, smaken zijn zacht, glad, koffie, bonen, melkchocolade, scherp, alcoholisch
4.4 Pours rich coffee brown with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma yields quality coffee, sweet chocolate, roast malt, earthy and molasses hints. Flavor delivers coffee, chocolate, roast malt, molasses, earthy and subtle nutty tones - this is breakfast in a bottle. Texture provides good, smooth body and peppy fizz. Not flat, not white, but all right.
4.1 Tap. Pours black with a brown head. Aromas of coffee and roasted malt. Flavours of coffee, lactose, licorice and caramel. Oily texture. Full body. Very tasty.
3.7 33 cl bottle @ home, served in a teku glass, due date: 2027/10/04. Aroma: quite intense aromas of black chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee, black coffee, roasted malts. Very subtle hints of alcohol. Appearance: dark to very dark brown color with brown and very creamy foam made of tiny to small sized bubbles. High head thickness with extremely high retention and high Brussels' lacing. Too dark to talk about haziness. Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, low sourness. Very powerful flavors of roasted coffee, black chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts, milk chocolate. Lactose is quite noticeable. Hints of espresso coffe, vanilla. Very well balanced, the lactose and malt sweetness does the job to balance the roasted bitterness and the acidity from the black malts. Palate: medium body, silky / oily texture, low carbonation, very long dry and sweet finish with low to medium sweetness from the lactose and low to medium bitterness and the same aforementioned flavors. Alcohol is only slighty noticeable in the aroma, very well hidden!. Very low astringency from the roasted malts but its acidity is noticeable. Overall: very good appearance, aromas and flavors of black chocolate, cocoa, black coffee, roasted coffee, roasted malts. I'm not a great fan of the lactose in the beer, but this one is quite balanced and enjoyable. Quite good. Maybe it would be better with more body and more oily texture. I really appreciate the not very high ABV, which it is usually not neccesary to make a great beer even in this style.
4.1 Bottle. Black with massivw beige head. Aroma ia roasted malts, prunes, medicinal herbs. Creamy, milky, sweet marshmallows, caffe latte flavors. Aftertaste is bitter hops and roasted malts. Great stout and I like that it's somewhat moderate at 7.5 abv.
3.3 330ml bottle. Jet black colour, no head, just some tan bubbles which instantly fade away. Sweet-ish, roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of coffee, some vanilla, a touch of strawberry. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, notes of coffee, hints of vanilla and strawberry. Restricted, anaemic.
4.4 Butelka 330 ml. Oatmeal stout, brewed with coffee & lactose; w składzie m.in. prażony jęczmień, płatki owsiane, laktoza, kawa. Intensywne, treściwie owsiane w aromacie i smaku. Super prażone słody, gęste i pełne; lekko kakaowe. Sztos.
3.5 Toń niemal czarna, piana bardzo obfita, opada do chmurki, na ściance zostawia kilka plamek. W aromacie mielona kawa, śmietanka, czekolada, toffi, orzechy włoskie. Ciało ciężkie ku średniemu, średnio nasycone, pobudza ślinianki, wykleja podniebienie. W smaku kwaskowa kawa, popiół, prażony słonecznik, wyraźna popiołowa goryczka. Fajne piwko, zwłaszcza do wąchania. Jest wytrawne i dość pełne.
3.8 On tap at OMBF 2018, Krakow. Pours black with beige head. Coffee, cocoa, milk chocolate, light roastiness, medium sweetness, some light bitterness in finish. Soft texture. Medium bodied.
4.2 Copenhagen 17/11 2018. 33 cl bottle from Mikkellers Webshop. Keith Shore Drawing of a little guy with a hat bathing or sniffing a cup of coffee with an abundance of milk foam on the label. Pours opaque dark brown with big light beige head. Settles as 4 cm thick, frothy layer of foam. Massive lacing. Aroma is bittersweet and intense. Bitter Coffee, sweet milky odor, bitter sweet dark chocolate. Light bitter bite assaulting my nose. Thick, oily, soft and creamy texture. Flavor is heavy sweet followed by medium coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a prominent bitter undercurrent. Lingers for a long while. A whole lot of aroma and taste that stays with me for for a long while. And in this maelstrom I even manage to forget that this Stout holds an ABV of 7,5.
4.2 Draught at Mikkeller & Friends shared with djoeye. High creamy lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Powerful creamy and relatively sweet roasted malt coffee caramel aroma. Solid roasted malt coffee cocoa flavor with a hint of liquorice and blueberries. Low carbonation and a nice long finish. Nicely balanced with an alcohol level that is disguised by the sweetness of the beer.
4.1 Color negro, opaca.
4.3 Aroma; superb confectionery, roasted malts, chocolate sauce, liquorice cream. Look; beige flathead, black body. Taste; coffee, sweet liquorice, some fruit, roasted malt, black toffee sauce, saucy finish. Feel; thick, soft. Overall a excellent sipper. [20cl at Mikkeller Stefansgade Cph]
3.5 1 pint can, san diego brewed (tried alongside triple flat white). Pours dark brown black with off white frothy head. Mild milky oaty smooth with caramel, toast, light roasted malty and gentle cold brewed coffee. Semi sweet with low bitterness and soft carbonation.
3.7 Bottle to snifter (dated 03/05/27; shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a lightly translucent very dark (almost dull black) cola with foamy darker beige head. Smells of a nice balance of dark malt, milk chocolate, coffee, ale yeast, and some mild roast. Tastes like it smells with a mildly to moderately bitter but smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
4.7 (café-génial, lait, noix, lacto-délicate, amer-maîtrisé, ~matin-choco, > aromatique, tendrement oat-ée)
3.6 One More Beer Festival 2018. Kawa, czekolada, kakao, lekko laktoza, wytrawne.
3.0 OMBF2018.
4.4 473ml. Bought at Jumbo Ciboga. Smells of coffee chocolate and condensed milk. Pour extremely dark and clear. Thin head. Tastes like a flat white. Maybe even my favourite oatmeal stout. This beer THICC like molasses. Would drink this beer after a meal as a digestif.
4.1 Although its name would suggest otherwise, the color is rather pitch black. It smells sweet, creamy and like coffee. The palate is nice and creamy, and sufficiently carbonated without going over the top. It has a lot of coffee tones and a good sweetness to it. In the aftertaste is a slight bit of bitterness, but overall the sweetness reigns supreme in a good way.
