3.0 Malzig alkoholischer Antrunk, intensive Holznoten. Spritzig, der Alkohol stört. Brennend zum Ende, stark holzig. Okay. 10/9/8/9//9
3.8 375ml bottle.
3.8 (Mikkeller 黑 / Black (Tequila/Speyside Edition)) Bottle 375 ml, received a couple of years from Cuso, thanks Imro! Served into a snifter, ABV 18.8! Dark brown to almost black colour on the body, not as thick a pour as I expected. Head is light beige in colour, one finger in size and thin, with average retention. Aroma of chocolate, alcohol, whiskey. Light iodium, more medicinal alcohol, faint wood. You can get tipsy by the aroma alone. Sweet and very boozy taste, with indeed tequila and lots of whiskey, it’s like you’re taking shots of one after each other. Some dark fruits underneath, light roasted malts and bitterness. Medium thick body with soft carbonation, sticky on the palate and a warming feeling on the body. Too harsh of a beer, I had a full glass but it’s boozy character makes it hard to even finish a taster.
3.5 Shared with Wim at my home. Black colored beer with small brownish head and no carbonation. Malty alcoholic fruited aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is malty bitter alcoholic sweet dry.
3.7 Very little carbonation or head. Thin consistency but some rich taste features, including berries, chocolate, alcohol warmth and some sourness. Less than you would expect at 18.8% abv
3.6 Tap Pitch black body with a small, lacing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, tequila, peat and whiskey. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry, slightly bitter with an alcohol burn. Full bodied, oily texture and soft to flat carb. A heavy and very nice impy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
4.1 Tap @ Mikkeller and Friends. Pours pitch black with a medium brown head. Aroma is heavy roasty, salty, caramel, soy, malty, dark chocolate, light tobacco. Taste is hard roasty, salty, bitter dark chocolate, tobacco, ashy, malt, coffee and some dark berries.
4.0 Tap. Pours black with creamy all tan head. Aroma has tons of wood and whisky booze. Liquor and cocoa, fruity agave, candied dark fruits, raisins, rum, smoky burnt wood, had roast, ashy, caramel and burn sugar. Liquorice and puddersukker. Taste is sugary, caramel, whisky, roast, acidic, fudge, spicy parfume. Full creamy body. Coffee and dark fruits. Long warming boozy finish with oaky tannins. Smoky burn wood. Tequila lige dryness in finish.
4.4 Aroma: tequila, soy sauce, liquorice, dark chocolate. Appearance: Black thick beer, no head. Taste: Sweet and bitter. Aftertaste: soy sauce, dried fruit, wood. Palate: Thick and silky. Light carbonation. Overall: Very interesting beer.
4.1 Bottle. Pours a very dark, almost jet black beer with a big brownish head on top. Aroma has loads of chocolate, roasted malts, mildly peaty and boozy. Flavor is very strong, loads of booze in there. The peated influences are a bit faded into the background, but still certainly there. Tequila is certainly noticeable in the boozy character of this beer, but that is also pretty obvious, given this is 18,8%. Light carbonation going on in the moutfheel, long, sticky sweet roasty aftertaste. Nice, full and powerful beer. Good stuff.
2.7 Disappointed. Comes on thick with a fruity espresso flavor. Finishes harsh, soaked in astringency. Aftertaste has lingering front of tongue alcohol taste. Not deep. Pointless beer, not enjoyable IMO.
3.6 Bue en bouteille de 37,5cl. Arôme café et alcool bien present. Au palais, explosion café (genre ristretto serré) puis alcool super present.
2.7 beige head leaves no lacing. coffee coloured. aroma is candysugar, umami and especially boozy. taste is extremely boozy, wry, sharp and alcoholic with a very very bitter aftertaste. quite dense mouthfeel, medium carbonation. left this one to areate more than an hour before drinking, still a mess. bottle 37,5cl
4.1 7/XI/14 - 37.5cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: 6/VI/22 (2014-1300) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle! Clear dark purple brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very boozy, alcohol, caramel, bit sweet. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: alcohol, boozy, some mocha, more alcohol, banana peel, caramel, bit sugary, bitter hops. Aftertaste: dry, bitter hops, cocoa powder, alcohol, very boozy, vanilla.
3.8 Bottle sample at a tasting at tderoeck’s place. Thanks tderoeck. 7.11.14 Gent. Black with foamy tan head. Chocolate, alcoholic, vinous aroma, chocolate, alcoholic, rich and bitter taste. Full body, no carbonation, chocolate and vanilla finish.
4.4 Bottle from Kris Wines. Poured less viscous than I expected. Massive hit of dark boozy fruit, vanilla, alcohol very present but pleasantly. Beautiful alluring sweetness. Some rich milk chocolate. Touch of funk. Taste is medium sweet luxury. Melting creamy toffee, perfect balance between the spirits. Really perfect. Finishing with an elegant sweetness with bite, taking the edge off the booze with the subtlest slight of hand.
3.4 Bit a disappointment, maybe because expectations was so high. Anyways.. standard Mikkeller Black feels even better, not mentioning price/performance aspect. Ofc.. this is a good beer and I liked it. Quite thick roasted malts, dried fruits, choco, bit soy, wood and that salty note of tequila - dont like tequila and even mikkeller black cant change my mind. Sweetish with light bitterness and saltiness. Feels quite oily and warming. Decent brew, but I would prefer others for this price.
4.2 Black with small head. Taste tequila, pepper, roasted malts, sweet high alcohol finish.
4.2 Pitch black beer with a small beige head. The first thing that stands out is the prominent aroma of whisky but it is very well balanced with some dark fruits, roasted malts and a bit of alcohol. Oily texture and a flavour which is medium sweet, heavy malty with hints of chocolate and ripe dark fruit. (Bottle 37,5cl)
4.1 A: Coffee, licorice. T: Coffee, licorice, malty, fig. Coffee beans, rosted malts, tequila. Finish full of tequila, long and bitter. Full bodied. What a stout, strong and warm, full of alcohol. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.9 37.5 cl ml bottle in glass A- Dark black with a small off-white head. A- Coffee, malty, woody, small vanilla and licorice. T- Small sweet caramel chocolate alcohol, strong peppery tequila finish. P - full body carbonated, warm finish O - Great strong stout
3.8 375ml bottle at home. Dark brown/black with a small off-white head. Full body with light carbonation. Alcoholic sweetness with some bitter and sour tones. Coffee, chocolate, alcohol, roasted malts, caramel, wood, vanilla and licorice. But the taste of the tequila is most dominant. An alcoholic coffee bomb, with tequila. Downside, i am not a fan of tequila.
3.8 duft: grøn kaffe duft. kaffe. tobak. svag røg. smag: mege sød. og fyldig øl med mega meget restsødme. dog med en stor varme fra alkoholen. smag rugbrød, karamel, kakao. ristet malt.
4.1 Bottle, 375ml. A dark beer with a brown hue at the top and a small brown head. Aroma is of alcohol, dark creamy chocolate, dried fruits and nuts. Taste is sweet and has a heavy roasted character. Almost no carbonation and considerable astringency. Aftertaste is very strong, somewhat reminds me of mint and doesn’t feel very alcoholic (which is surprising, considering its high ABV). A great beer indeed.
4.2 Bottle, 375ml. Opaque dark brown with a minimal brown head. Sticky, heavy, musky alcohol and dried fruit aroma. Smells just like port wine. Oily and robust, with flat carbonation. Very sweet and low on bitterness, with a fiery alcohol and dark malt character. Has a raspy liqueur feel but is extremely rich and drinkable. The alcohol seems like water for a staggering 18.8%; it is expertly masked, yet preserves the heavyness that makes it seem more like an oporto than a beer. Magnificent, pushes the boundary on what can be considered beer.
3.6 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black, sweet chocolate on nose. Harsh tequila finish.
4.0 Appearance: Dark brown/black with cm thick tan head. Aroma: Malt, peat, vegetal, whisky notes, treacle. Taste: Medium bitterness and sweetness with low sourness. Palate: Thick smooth texture, thick body, average carbonation, lingering dry, bitter sweet, peppery, cold black coffee, malty finish with whisky notes and alcohol warmth. My lips are tingling possibly due to the alcohol. Is their chilly in this? Comments: Lovely and glass lace.
