Mikkeller Hva Såå?!

Mikkeller Hva Såå?!

A Mikkeller interpretation of the classic Trappist ale, Orval. Brett funk in a light fruity pale, that will taste great fresh, but age beautifully for years!

4.5 Different from many pale ales. Unique, more complex, earthy quality
3.5 Bottle pours hazy copper-amber with a large foamy whitish head. Aroma is nice, caramel, Belgian yeasty spice, earthy, brett, vinous notes. Flavor is sweet, yeasty with some bretty funk, spice, some hop bitterness. Medium plus body, higher carbonation. Good.
2.3 Bottle from Pivný raj. Disappointment. Green apples with related sourness. I was thinking whether it's just my bottle, but apparently I am not the only one. No joy.
3.7 Bottle 33cl from Mikkeller. Pours clear copper, large white head. Tart, brett, lemon, herbs in the aroma. Tart, brett, dry, fruits, herbs in the flavor.
2.9 Aus der Flasche getrunken (Weihnachtskalender 2017). Klares Amber mit viele Schaum. Leicht säuerliche Fassnase. Schön kräftig belgisch.
4.4 Orval clone, no difference as for me, from arh hvad?! Though orval is better.
2.2 On bottle @Studenterbaren Århus. Pours hazy red with thick white foam. Fruity scent. The taste is weak bitter with notes of grapes and berries. It's boring for a Mikkeller beer, nothing impressive.
3.8 Botella. of @Fonefan, Trade Thanks!! . 24/11/2017 BBD:24/03/26 Color marron claro espuma blanca, aromas brettas cereal, sabor malta cereal cuerpo medio, dulce y brettas.
3.8 Bought @ Delhaize Boomsesteenweg (highway to hell) Brett and orange peel in aroma. Full creamy mouthfeel. Brett and orange peel in taste. A tad sweetness. Rather heavy palate. Nice.
3.5 Courtesy of Jaghana. Gout agrumes, sec, brett, raisin verts, note herbes, bien fort. Bon corps. Fort dans le style, du mikkeller!
5.0 Surprised. Definitely, it's an ale but with variety of subtleties.
3.6 Bottle 33cl, a cloudy copper beer with medium head. Nose is on agrumes and brett, taste is dry with evident brett notes, peppery bitterness and astringency. Aroma has malt notes, good body, lot of brett, kind of orval with more body, floral, very powerful.
3.7 Bottled. Amber coloured.unclear. Dense light beige head. Aroma. Citrus, herbs, some grape, flavour. Herbs, grape, fruits, medium to full bodied. Ends herbal and grapy
2.8 Amber color with lots of white head. Aroma is caramel, malt. Taste is sweet caramel, candy. A bit spicy, dirty. Maybe this batch is below its average quality, seems weird. I don’t understand this beer. Should be good, but it isn’t.

3.6 Bottle from the MBCC goodie bag, shared at home - orange Amber pour with white head and lacing. Sweet malty and hoppy with some notes of yeast, some caramel sweetness, some icing sugar, bretty herbal hoppy backing, some spices into the close.
3.4 500 ml. canned 27/08/2016 presented as the alias version Arh Hvad!? and indicating 7.6% abv. Foggy, copper-amber pour with a gigantic sponge of foam that settles to a pillowy inch of meringue. Nose is orange toffee, white grapes, oxidation, spruce resin and mild funky Brett. Flavors of toffee, cherry, rusty grape, Brett and a long bitter finish of pithy wood. Medium bodied with low fizz (seems to have all been spent in the pour) and a big bitter on the finish. There’s some complex flavors here, but a bit bi-polar for my tastebuds.
3.6 Misty dark amber, big fluffy white head, soon to be a nice foamy white cap that lingers and sticks a lot. Gushing, a bit. Nose has Brett, citrus, rich floral notes, herb extract, soft caramel. Sour citrus, splash of white wine gone bad, rose water, herb medicine, underripe tomato, medicinal/chalky Brett in the finish, with some lemongrass, celery and other herbs. Aftertaste is really bitter, not just from too much hop, but quite Bretty. Light bodied, spritzy. A bit clusmily infected, if you can understand that, but somewhat complex and interesting.
4.0 Piwo koloru bursztynowego z dość obfitą pianą, którs jednak szybko się redukuje do pierścienia przylegającego do szkła. W aromacie stajnia na pierwszym planie, trochę octowe, skóra, z tyłu subtelne słodkie owoce. W smaku owoce, skóra, drewno, stajnia, na finiszu goryczkowe. Bardzo fajne piwo.
2.1 Deep brqss colour. Clear. Thin, creamy head. Aroma is perfume and leather. Taste is weird: some sour, some umami, some metal.
3.8 Bottle @ Home. From MBCC gold ticket holders goodie bag of rare beers. Pours dark golden with a huge offwhite head. Aroma of malt, yeast, nicely bretty, light leather, little caramel, dried fruit, wood, little white wine. Flavor is light sweet, malt, caramel, yeast, wood, leather, fruit, light vine notes. Medium body, average carbonation, nice dry finish. 280517
3.3 Clear amber pour with a tall fizzy light beige head. Notes of brett, caramel, dried fruit, mould, light grape or white wine, ginger. Medium body, high carbonation and a dry and bitter finish.
3.9 Bottle I’m Tunderup. Pours a clear amber with a big off-white head. Sweet with a light dryness. Aromas of brett and pale malts with hints of toasted caramel. Also notes of plums. Medium bodied. Medium to lively carbonation. Long dry, bretty finish.
3.8 Brown with thin soapy head. The Brett is very prominent in the aroma. A bit less so in the taste. Basically it’s a very good Orval clone. Slightly less carbonated and yeasty. It also has a little spicy sweetness in the background.
3.6 33cl bottle at home from De Caigny, Belgium. Nose is malty, belgian yeast. Body is hazy amber, head is very big, cream white, rocky, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma is malty, weed, ginger bread, cinnamon, pepper. Medium sweet, medium bitter, light fruity sour, medium umami. Finish is medium lasting malty medium bittersweet, medium umami, hint of salt, light alcohol warmth. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Quite easy, unique, interesting, well balanced, nice one.
