4.0 Lovely IIPA. Well balanced and very drinkable. Predominantly citrus, tropical fruits. Moderate to strong bitterness. Excellent.
3.7 Umber/brown liquid with a taller dense ecru colored head. Sweet malt, perfume and grass, and perhaps a hint of urine. Grassy and green hops early and often. Brown sugar, sorghum and toasted grains wander about. A decent return of the malt in the finish. Linger is long and bitter. A sipper on a cold evening. Mix between a barleywine and a IIIPA 9/10 & 3/20.
4.4 Bottle. Pours golden with a small head. Layered aroma. Tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange, citrus herbs and caramel. Fabulous palate, feels thick with medium carbonation. Long, bitter finish. Heavy bitterness, sweet under tones. Layered and complex, there is also some spice. I love this.
3.5 33cl bottle picked up at De Boerkoning, Amsterdam and poured into a snifter on 16-Aug-2016. Amber with a medium sized beige coloured head which dissipates quickly. Aroma of caramel, malt and tropical fruits. Medium body and soft carbonation. Really sweet up-front, with caramel followed by bitter grapefruit, mango, citrus and floral hops. Sweet and dry bitter finish. Lovely hop profile and tropical fruits, but just a little too sweet.
3.8 Draught at Mikkeller Pop Up. May have been the first Mikkeller beer I ever tried ages ago. Still a pretty relevant brew, rich citrus/weed hop bouquet, quite fruit forward with a decent biscuit malt base, good drinkability, fairly dry finish. Solid iipa, definitely one of their classic hop bombs.
3.8 A dark amber ipa with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice vinous character, caramel malt with light sulfur notes, pungent resinous floral hops, musky and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light vinous notes, alcohol warmth, nice resinous floral hops, light licorice, very nice and complex. Bièropholie imports.
3.4 At Home along with Yves amber colored body with a white head and a herby yeast fruity hop aroma a hops herby fruity sweet alcholic bitter taste with an alcholic bitter finish
3.4 Shared with wim at his home. Hazy amber colored beer with small white head and no carbonation. Hopped grassy aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is sweet hopped fruited.
3.9 Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Huge grapefruit and tropical fruit nose with some sweet malt in there as well. Sweet on the palate but well-balanced. Lots of juicy, hop bitterness: orange juice, grapefruit, mango and bready malts all over the palate. Hides the booze pretty well for the abv. Just a big in your face Double IPA. Nice sweet finish with big bitterness that lingers. Very fruit forward.
2.7 Appearance: cloudy pale amber, short eggshell head, good retention and no lacing. (3/5) Aroma: caramel malt, pine, citrus, floral, nutty. (5/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate-high bitter. (5/10) Palate: medium-full body, moderate-low carbonation, sweet malty and bitter finish. (3/5) Malt forward caramelly DIPA that is exactly the style I don’t like. Mind you, it’s months past its BB, so that’s probably a factor - I’m sure any hop character it might once have had is long faded. I think I’m going to bring this back to Co-Op and yell at them for putting expired stuff in their “Beer Discovery” packs. It’s honestly the worst Mikkeller I’ve ever had. Reminds me of Green Gold, but even more malt forward, almost toffee. And, actually, when I think about that in the context of some of the other hoppy Mikkeller brews I’ve had, with truly stupidly long shelf lives, I start thinking maybe it’s not age at all. Still gonna go yell at Co-Op though. And no, Mikkeller, you aren’t beating much with this. (11/20)
4.5 33cl shared bottle at home from Only Good Beer, Budapest (Expired 6 months ago). Nose is citric, tropical fruits, parfume, glue. Body is opalescent orange, head is medium, beige, creamy, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma is honey, tropical fruits, grass, peach, apple, grapefruit, spices. Medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is long lasting hoppy medium bittersweet, light citric sour, further developing quinine heavy bitter, alcohol is slightly present. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Not quite easy, very tasty, perfect balance, not overhopped, flavorful, fantastic IPA.
4.0 Amber hazy with medium off-white creamy head. Nice fruity aroma. Pleasant strong bitterness with sour citrusy notes, some touch of sweet. Long lasting strong bitterness in the aftertaste
4.1 Rating #1472 - 27.02.2015 On tap @underground_yeg. Pours a darker amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is doughy, pastry malt, and a bold punch of pine, citrusy, grapefruit hops in the mix. Taste is boldly hopped, pastry dough malt meets the fruit bomb, lots of pine resin, and citrus notes throughout. Beats me.
4.0 Pours a hazy golden brown with a decent head. Smells of honey, caramel and flowers. Smooth texture, tastes like strawberries, huge notes of honey, a slight bitterness to balance the sweetness. The alcohol is almost undetectable.
3.9 From tap at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Clear orange dark amber color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, caramel, citrusy fruity, grapefruit, pine. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
4.0 On tap at Alus celle in Riga: typical Ipa aroma and taste. Bitter and a bit sharp. Very well balanced
3.4 9.75%ABV. Imperial IPA. Tapped out a deep amber. 18ºSRM. Nose is sweet, with aromas of fresh warm barley bread, roasted acorns and some other rich nutty aromas of roasted almond, hazelnut and pecans. Mouthfeel syrupy and soapy. Palate has a funkly umami that is reminiscent of sardines or any other equivalent small oily fish in a tin. There are of course nutty, roasty, caramel and toffee like flavours. There was a sweet alcoholic palate which I for me was just a little much. A very personal thing. I wouldn’t say it was a bad thing, just not for me. Finish is bitter and a little cloying. I guess that was the play on words they were hoping for "IBU". Well there certainly was plenty of BUs to go around!
3.6 Caramel cloudy look. It has a light citric aroma, but not much. Perhaps its too cold. Very rich and sweet taste.
3.9 330 mL bottle. Slightly hazed amber, thin beige head. Floral and pine hop aroma. Taste is big on the hops, piney, resin, fairly bitter finish. Overall nice balance though.
5.0 On tap @ Na 7. schode. Brownish amber color, cloudy liquid, white thick head. Citrus, spruce, caramel in aroma, nice smell. Light to medium sweet, medium bitter. Alcohol is hidden. Excellent.
4.1 Tap at "na 7.schode", Zilina. Pours is cloudy amber with big creamy white head, persistent. Aroma of caramel , bisquits, pine, resin and citruses, lemon, slightly orange and tangerine. Solid malty base, heavy sweet, moderate to heavy bitter, zesty caramel and orange freshness on tongue. Heavy body, nice fully creamy texture, soft carbonation. Long bitter finish, lot of sweetnes in finish as well. Great.
3.6 Čapované v Lokal Pube Nitra. Tmavomedová hnedá farba, hustá pena, krúžkuje a pomerne rychlo opadla, aróma sladu a kvetov. Nižšia rezkost, plná chut sladu a chmelu, s medovym nádychom. Intenzívna neopadajúca nasládla chut v ustach.
3.9 Tap. Pours clear amber with one finger creamy beige head. Aroma is packed with dank hops, dense, resin, hash, sweet mellow malt, caramel and bready. Some slight tropical over-ripe fruits. Old school. Slight skunk and earthy.. Taste is mango, mellow fruits, bready caramel mates, grapefruit, earthy hops. Quite sticky body. Hoppy resinous bitter finish. Long lingering bitternes, dry. Nice old school iipa.

3.4 Tap @ mikkeller & friends. Pours a bronze like beer. Aroma is piney and fruity. Taste is piney with fruity and hoppy notes. Dry bitter finish.
3.8 Hazy orange with white head. Dank, green, herbal and earth. Sweet, hoppy, licorice and spice. Overall: Hop juice.
3.9 3oz sample at Cerveza Mexico 2015. Opaque murky amber. Intense fruity hop acidic aroma, also very resinous. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Intensely bitter, with a strong roasted caramel and alcohol character. Very heavy and quite excellent.
4.0 Bottle. Amber colour, fluffy head. Aroma is floral and pine hops with citrusy notes. In taste strong citrus and pine, low sweet with huge bitterness. Medium body, light alcoholic notes. Very good ipa.
3.7 Keg at Mikkeller Viktoriagade, CPH, 20/08/15. Murky amber topped with moderate off white spotting. Nose is pine, dank citric tunes, mango, grapefruit, caramel malt, bitter hop. Taste comprises much the same, a pretty bitter bastard, good dank licks. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Good DIPA gear.
