3.7 330ml draught at Underdog. Pours deep amber with white head. Aroma is pine, citrus. Flavour is a caramel sweet with a dry bitter earth finish.
4.2 330 ml can as "Mosaic IIPA" bought at HK Brewcraft in Central. Looks: Transluent orange honey colourl; Two finger head with crumpety off-white foam which last for 3 minutes; Beauiful sticky lacing with very slight carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant full Ale malt, with strong orange, strong tangerines, citrus, caramel, honey, light candied fruits, strong floral, sugar, spices, biscuits, lemon and grass. Complex and nice! Taste: Mid to strong sweet rich Ale malt, with strong citrus peels, oranges, tropical fruits, caramel, floral, molasses, resins, spices, herbs, dry biscuits, lime, strong bitter hops and strong fresh grass. Very pleasant! Body: Close to full body, Thick, slick and oozy palate. Mouth Feel: Full Ale maltyness in a viscous background. Fairly dynamic and not too sluggish. Hoppy strong citrus peels to start, with notable oranges and tropical fruits mixed with medium sweetness, so nice! Flowery and resin oozy with spicy herbs and fruity lime to round. Heavenly! Hoppiness: Strong orange, tangerines, citrus, honey, light candied fruits, strong floral, spices, lemon and grass in nose. Strong citrus peels, oranges, tropical fruits, floral, resins, spices, herbs, lime and fresh grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet-bitter herbal malty finish. After Taste: Dry. Fruity oozy and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: The massive dose of Mosaic is doing this one real wonder - fragrant orangey aroma, strong citrus fruity grass taste, rounded with strong oozy limey hoppiness. Out of the 4 single-hop Mikkeller IIPA I’ve had (Cascade, Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic), this is by far the best. Highly Recomended!
3.8 A 330ml can with a best before date of 15th November 2017. Poured into a Mikkeller tasting glass. It was a lightly hazy dark golden orange colour with a two finger white head with good retention and left nice lacing. Aromas of nice pineapple, pine, citrusy orange, peach and hints of caramel. Tastes of bittersweet candied pineapple, pine and lemon tea on top of sweet caramel malt. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall tasty and enjoyable. Easily the best out of Cascade, Citra and Simcoe.
3.8 Can from Brewcraft, drank with three of the other Mikkelle Single Hop IIPA series: Cascade, Citra and Simcoe. Pours a clear copper with a fizzy white head. Smells of toasty earthy hop, light tropical and passion fruit, light pepper. Taste is grassy toasty hop, medium pepper, booze. My favourite of the 4: bitter, complex, smooth.
3.8 Can from Brewcraft at home - along with Cascade, Citra, Simcoe. This one in the middle clarity-wise, very similar to Simcoe. Dull golden. Seems like it could be fresher than the others but who knows. Sudsy white head. Aroma is very similar to Simcoe but danker - more ripe tropical fruit, blueberry in its sweet and tartness, (maybe power of suggestion), very juicy. Best aroma of the bunch I think. Taste follows. Tropical fruit, citrus, bitter pith, juiciness. More juicy where the Simcoe is more zesty. But both have both. Favorite of the bunch.
3.8 On tap in Tokyo. Pours a mostly cloudy orange hue with a medium white head. A big citrus resinous nose. Grassy, straw, big sweet citrus, resin, a bit of mild bitterness. Good.
3.9 Poured out from the new packaging of a 330 ml can into a tulip glass. The appearance of the IIPA is a hazy golden orange tone, topped with a very generous dollop of thick white froth. The aromas released are perfumes of citrus fruit - mainly grapefruit but also a mix of tropical fruits - and florals - pine and grass. In the mouth, there is a lightly sweet taste, overlaid with fruits and pines, and then intense and lingering bitterness all the way into the long finish. The average to soft carbonation gives it good bite and reinforces the medium-bodied mouthfeel. A winner!
3.8 Can at Betony Kouvola. Short and fluffy beige head. Opaque orange color. Intense and nice hoppy aroma. Hoppy and big bitter taste. Some malt in the taste but not chrystal sweetness. Good body.
3.8 Big thick malty mouth with tons of tropical fruit and caramel. Modestly sweet. Rounded. Drinks easy for 8.9%
3.9 330 ml. bb 18/05/2017. Translucent orange-amber pour with a big spongy foam that slowly settles to a sticky cobweb. Mild nose of toffee, tea with lemon, toast and green onion. Flavors of garlic, caramel, galangal, orange-lemon tea, peppery resin, toasted walnut and wood. Medium body is smooth and chuggable with a bit of a dry slant and low-medium fizz. Would love to try one that’s not beyond the bb date.
3.6 Can at Craft Room. Misty orange/amber body. Lasting small white head. Aroma... Grainy notes mixing with tropical fruity hoppiness. Sweet maltiness up front, mixing with coconut and tropical fruit hops. Just. Too. Sweet. Excellent aromatics but too damn sweet. Come on Mikkel... This would have been world class with better attenuation...
3.7 Bottle sample from notes. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, citrus, earthy and resiny hops, decent bitterness, pretty good for a Mikkeller IPA.
3.9 12oz bottle from Sonoma Cellars in Oconomowoc with a 5/18/2017 date on the cap. My 400th DIPA rating! Either super fresh, or a week past the "best by" date. Hazy copper orange pour with a solid 1" off-tan head leaving streaky lacing. Aroma has pine, citrus, pineapple, some tropical fruits, and caramel. Taste is of tangy citrus, other fruits, some pine, and some candied fruits, all on a solid caramel malt base. Medium bodied with some alcohol presence, the blend is good and the carbonation is solid. Finishes to the bitter side of the bitter-sweet scale, but in a well fought battle. Tasty, solid offering. If old, could not tell, which is an excellent sign. 14.2
3.9 Can. Has a hazy orange colour with an off-white head. Fruity aroma of pine, grapefruit, orange peel and some caramel. The flavour is also fruity with tones of hops, grass and grapefruit. Has a slick mouth feel, full-bodied and solid but balanced bitterness. A top IIPA that is all fruity, hoppy and well-balanced.
4.0 33cl can at grass from De Caigny, Belgium. Nose is , honey, tropical fruits. Body is hazy orange, head is medium, white, creamy, average lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is honey, tropical fruits, tangerine. Medium sweet, light bitter, light fruity and citric sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity hoppy medium bittersweet, hint of salt. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Easy, quite refreshing, strong flavor, very tasty, perfectly balanced, great one.
3.6 Pours nice hazy orange, beautiful foamy top. Aroma of sharp hops, somewhat dank, more earth than fruity / or actually somewhere in between these two options. Taste is quite malty, earthy and well, actually a bit sweet, maybe even too sweet for me. There are still hops trying to balance this, some overripe mango there, which is nice. Solid imperial IPA, liking it but at the same time it is not overly exciting.
4.0 Can bought from honestbrew.co.uk. Love this beer. It’s not as good as the Citra version but I still like it.
4.0 Pours hazy apricot amber with medium high white head Aromas hoppy of tropical fruit marmalade, mango, resin, caramel, grass, hints of pine Taste has hoppy notes of resin, mango, apricot, peach, pine, caramel, hints of grass
3.8 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Intensywne żółte owoce, spora słodowość, dobry balans. Jak to u Mikkellera - East Coast.
4.5 Flavour is mosaic hop, tropical fruits , caramel malt, floral, lots of pleasant bitterness in the taste and aftertaste, medium dry. Excelent Dipa.
4.1 Lovely, bold, bitter and hoppy. I found this particular one more sweeter and more fruity than Citra from this series, but I think its due to hops variety itself. All those tropical mind-blowing aromas sat so well on indeed enough malt backbone and level of hops infusion kinda lets this brew to shine and not to just be.
3.8 330ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Stable and tight, pearl white, foamy head. Hazy orange coloured body. Floral hops and piney nose. Succulent, hoppy depth flavours of pine, peaches and pineapple. Gentle bitter ending, lingering for quite a while. Full bodied. Smooth and warming on the swallow. Pleasant (Tromsø 10.03.2017).
3.8 330 ml. can. BBF 15/11/17. Very bright hazy golden, creamy off-white head. Nose is weird white bread dough mixed with bitter grape stems, weeds, perfume, herbal sweaty grape, dank, oily cheese, sweetness, peculiar. Taste is bread dough, sweet, basic Dutch cheese, oily, malty sweet, grape stems, grape pits, caramel, floral, perfume,... Odd white dough malt, perfume hops, sweetness, combo,... Mosaic comes through here oddly,... Feels potent,... Floral, big perfume. Lightly milky,... Pretty odd beer, not sure as to what make of it. It isn’t bad but it is too weird for its own good for me. I must admit that it started to grow on me over time. Interesting. Rather bitter.
2.5 Fruity and bitter scent. Fruity and incredibly bitter taste. Very bitter aftertaste that fills the upper part of the mouth for a long time. For bitter beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.6 Can from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Herbal, fruity, slightly dank aromas. Taste is pure blueberry, herbal, lemon, spicy. Boozy finish. Pretty good
3.2 Pours light amber, almost golden color with whitish head. Aroma is simply mosaic: tropical fruit for days, some dankness and caramel. Flavour is tropical fruits again, caramel malt, floral, lots of bitterness in the aftertaste, medium dry. Big bold body, little too boozy and unfortunately a carbonation too heavy for this type of beer. I struggle to swallow every sip. After all a decent DIPA.
4.1 Aroma: Fruity hops with dusty notes. Flavour: dry bitterness with fruits and sweet bubblegum notes. Aftertaste is very bitter dry. Colour: amber with a white head. From: Bottle @ FLASK Aarhus Feb. 2016.
4.2 Wzorzec imperialnego ipa, obok Citry z tej samej serii. Rześkie pomimo 8.9 alko, aromatyczne, świetnie zbalansowane
3.8 Hazy amber color, tan head. Grapefruit nose, mango, melon, caramel, light malty. Grapefruit taste, peach, floral, mango, caramel malt, grass, moderate bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation.
