Mikkeller Jackie Brown

Mikkeller Jackie Brown

Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.

Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.

Ingredients :
Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

3.4 Bottle. Deep brown color with a thick frothy off-white head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and peat. Medium sweet taste. Flavors are vanilla and chocolate. Medium body.
3.7 Aroma: sweet, some perfume and chocolate notes Appearance: brown, heart of red, tan head and sheet lacing Flavour: some mocha notes balanced by some acid Palate: long finish, some bitterness with malt
3.5 Mikkeller “Brown / Jackie”, Brown Ale, 33 cl 6,0% ABV. Brewed by De Proef Belgium. Pours a chestnut colour with a lasting notty brown head down the side of the glass. Aroma and taste is malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate and a rich on hops. Medium body and carbonation. Long bitter finish.
3.2 (nez floral-pétale, bouche moussue, brun-sucrée until finale, puis > amer-racine-herbe, all brut, für herboriste)
3.5 Bottle in 2013, pours a muddy brown color with a thicker beige head and nice lacing on the inner glass. Aroma is prune, chocolate, citrus, grass, and wood. Flavor was molasses, toasty malt, crystal, and cocoa dust. Lighter to medium body on this brew.
3.4 Bevuta in bottiglia. Ottima birra danese. Scura e tostata. Schiuma ricca. Profumata e piacevole al gusto.
3.7 Bottle. Hoppy aroma and malty aroma, citrus fruit, caramel, light roasty notes. Tastes the same as aroma, light sweet notes, light to medium bitter. Medium body, malty and hoppy bitter finish with caramel notes. Good.
3.8 Butelka 330 ml. American brown ale. W składzie m.in. płatki owsiane. Z charakterem - super aromat chmielowy i goryczka w smaku. Ładny wygląd, brunatne, z długą, duża i drobnopęcherzykową pianą. Wysycenie średnie do niskiego.
3.4 Reddish-brown like coca-cola with lots of beige head, stays. Aroma is malt, caramel. Taste is roasted malt and caramel. A bit watery. Little sweet, medium bitterness. Average carbonation, medium body. Boring.
4.1 Aroma: cocoa, some conifer and roasted sunflower notes - a bit like in CDA. Taste: medium to high bitterness with aftertaste. Quite lively carbonation. Very nice head.
4.1 Beautiful dark brown, with a beige head that doesn’t last long but leaves lacework. Malty on the nose, and hints of chocolate in the taste which finishes with lasting bitterness.
3.8 Aroma of caramel, chocolate, pine, bread and blackberry. Taste is pine, marshmallow, licorice, coffee, toasted malt, and hops. Wow...pretty good.
4.6 Fruktig, lett bitter. God maltfylde
3.6 The aroma is chocolate, some coffee and a hint licorice. Pours dark golden brown with beige head, mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. The taste Is a medium/light bitter. The body is medium, the texture is a thin creamy, the carbonation a little flat and the finish short. This beer has been sitting around for a few years and maybe lost some body but it is stil a decent beer.
4.1 Dark brown colour, medium head. Caramel and toffee aroma, chocolate taste, bitter and medium long after taste.
3.9 very nice caramel malts on nose and palate. please enjoy this beer with anything. it takes your day, whatever day you may be having, and makes it better.
4.0 Good beer, nice hoppy character, a little bit choco, rich and complex. Decent++
2.3 Bottle 6/6/19. Z: sosenka. S: ściągająca gorycz sosnowa. Jakiś karmel jakaś lekka palonosc. Meh.
3.1 Butelka. Barwa bursztynowa. Piana drobna, wysoko, szybko ulatuje. Mocno chmielone, jakieś orzechy w tle. Wysokie wysycenie.
3.0 Dark reddish brown, clear, with an inch or more of rocky foam. Aroma is resinous hops, coffee, toast. Taste is quite unlike a brown ale, really, at least to begin. Begins with a very bubbly, bitter, hoppy hit, that becomes more roasty, and toasty as it moves towards a finish that is more balanced (but still bitter), but shows more of the brown ale nuttiness. It's not really what I'm looking for. It's a punchy bitter thing with some darker malts thrown in.
3.8 Bottle. (Brief tasting notes and rating from old records) - Lots of coffee in the aroma. The flavour is more coffee with dark chocolate and a long bitterness with a hint of hops. Terrific beer. (Backlog)
3.9 01-10-2017; bottle; at home (bought at a Plus Supermarket in Rotterdam, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are nice. The color of the beer is a nice dark brown. The beer has a beautiful ruby red glow. The beer has a nice cloudiness. On top of the beer there is a nice soft layer of light brown foam. Foam retention is average. After a while a nice drape is left. On the glass there is some lacing. Not bad. The smell of the beer isn't bad, but to be honest I expected a bit more. I smell some nice aromas of of sweet malts, including some liquorice, some caramel, a touch of coffee. It is nice, but I expected slightly more. Besides the malts, there are some nice hop aromas. Some nice fruity hops, but als strong piney hops, with a herbal touch. They pair nice with the firm malts. It is good, but I just expected more. The taste of the beer is nice. There are nice strong malt. Flavours of chocolate, coffee, liquorice, some alcohol but also a nice spiciness. There are also nice spicy and herbal hops, together with some fruity and piney hops. They give nice bitters and slight acidity to the beer. The beer is well balanced. The palate of the beer is nice. Full body, smooth texture, high carbonation and a nice tingly thing. There is also a nice alcohol touch. The finish of the beer is nice. There are nice malts and spicy hops in there, and nice alcohol. All in all, a nice beer. I like it, even though I expected slightly more of the smell.
3.0 DRAFT at Mikeller Bucharest. Murky brown. Sweet dark fruity. The taste is not up to that level. Caramel and dark fruit, musty cardboard. Weird.
3.8 Barwa ciemnobrązowa, piana spora. Aromat słodowy, chmielowy, karmelowy, sosnowy, kawowy. Mega złożony i ułożony. W smaku ciemne pieczywo, kwasowa kawa, gorzki finisz. Alko niewyczuwalne ale pifko wydaje się mocniejsze niż jest w rzeczywistości. Bardzo fajne pifko.
3.1 Draught@Brewdog Helsinki. Reddish-brown color, tan head. Pleasant, slightly chocolaty aroma. Roasted malt flavor, hints of chocolate and nuts. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. Not bad.
3.6 33ml Bottle from Delhaze Can hardly say anything about this beer whatsoever, but just had to rate it anyway
