3.8Color dorado claro, translúcido, con capa de espuma blanca de dos dedos de grosor (muy buena retención). Carbonatación media tirando a baja. Aroma a cítrico y pino (este último muy remarcado). Sabor cítrico primero, luego resinoso, con mucho amargor (y muy placentero) al final. Gran cerveza pero... no es una Pilsner ni por asomo. Más bien una IPA.
3.4355ml can pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine with some grains. Taste is a citrus and pine hop bitterness with a malty sweetness. Light grainy mouth feel. Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, this is not quite a good representation of the pilsner style, but a great tasting brew. Recommended.
3.5Can @ Malin & Daniels wedding. Hoppy and drinkable pils with notes of citrus, orange cest and grains. Nice smooth mouthfeel.
2.9Quite a deep amber Pilsner but I’m drinking by candlelight so that could be it. The nose is pure dry hop, like a face full of fuggle. Then the malt hits in the mouth with a long sweetness. It has almost too much. This whole thing seems a little under attenuated.
4.3The "American" aspect of this American Pils is its higher hop bill, and that makes it a Keeper indeed. Clear golden pour. Dank hop aroma. Hop-forward taste with earth and some zesty citrus. Quite a bit of bitterness and dryness at the finish. Just what I like from a Pils.
4.0Small vibrant of sweet malts with hints of lemon zest to finish the scent off. Golden in color with one finger white head that lasts a bit spotty lacing. Sweet lemon taste starts this brew off with a decent bite in the middle then a sweet smooth malt finish. Light body with super sparkly carbonation. Nice complexity for a pilsner love the taste and carbonation. Great job!
3.3Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Clear half-dinner glass?
From: Whole Foods in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Price: $2.69
Purchased: July 30, 2016
Consumed: Aug. 2, 2016
Reviewed as: American Pale Lager
Misc.: Could not read the can on date, but did see the time (1:08 p.m. ET); Brewed and canned by Sly Fox
I’ve seen a few Mikkeller beers in stores lately and decided to pick this one up at Whole Foods in Manhattan Beach. Did not know the price until I saw it pop up on the screen and not sure I would have bought it had I known the price ahead of time. Realized when I got back that American Pilsner (which is on the can) is not a style yet on Beer Advocate. So I guess I’ll go with American Pale Lager like BA has it now.
Poured a medium, yellow, clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky, white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good foamy spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Had a lot of different smells coming in here. It’s like when a Pilsner meets an American India Lager. I guess an American Pale Lager makes sense. Got corn cereal, sourdough bread, grassy notes, hay, white cracker, grain, Cascade hops and hints of citrus notes. (Smell - 3.50)
Taste pretty much followed the nose, for good or for bad. Really seems like the Pilsner notes and hoppy notes were battling each other with neither coming out on top and just coming out with a messy outcome. Got citrus zest, Cascade hops, grass, herbal notes, mowed hay, cereal and sourdough bread. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was a little better than I thought it would be after quickly glancing at the BA ratings. Still not good enough to want to have again on purpose though. (Overall - 3.50)

3.7can from ølbutikken. Aromatic and dry, crisp hoppy, dry malty, not sweet. A super treat, the perfect hangover pils.
2.512 oz can. Aroma is hay, cotton candy, dough, age. Pours hazy golden with a thick white fluffy head with excellent retention and some lace. Taste is bitter with flavors of old beer that was probably pretty good fresh. It reminds me more of old American pale ales rather than old pilsners I’ve had. I don’t see a readable date code anywhere, so who knows exactly when this was canned. I imagine long ago.
3.0Pours clear gold with a thick, frothy off white head. Tastes like citrus hops, resin, caramel malt, orange, and grassy. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like citrus hops, resin, caramel malt, orange, and grass.
Too hoppy for a pils. Bummer.
3.612-oz can. Pours a very cloudy medium amber with a loose white head that sticks around for a fair bit. Big sweet nose, some oranges and some sweet cream, very much a creamsicle. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Light caramel, lots of oranges, lots of cream, grassy notes. Long sweet finish. What this has to do with an "American Pilsner" is utterly beyond me, but that’s alright. I sat outside, knocked back two of them, and distinctly wished I had more than two.
4.0Can at home. Slightly hazy golden orange colour. Faint sweetness from a malt base. Some citrus notes, subtle hop bite. Splendid :)
3.60.33 l can at Svijet piva (World of Beers), Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja and Marko. About a year ago. Clear light yellow, small head. Aromatic, fruity. Bitter kick, some malts in the background. Bitter for a pilsner, but that isn’t bad. Good beer to drink in large amounts.
4.012 ounce can into lager glass, unreadable can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color, with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Awesome appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast notes present. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous mouthfeel that is nice. Zero alcohol warming as expected of 5%. Overall this is a great hoppy American Pilsner style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
3.4From a can at the Gnarly Barley. Pours clear gold with a thick, frothy off white head. Tastes like citrus hops, resin, caramel malt, orange, and grassy. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like citrus hops, resin, caramel malt, orange, and grass.
3.2appearance: light amber, with a frothy off-white head and decent lacing; doesn’t look much like a pils… aroma: fresh grass, some pepper, brown toast, saltine cracker, light cardboard. taste: toasted brown bread, bitter floral hops, grassy hops too, some pepper and earth and a hint of citrus. finish: high carbonation, drying hops make for a clean finish with a bit of lingering bitterness. notes: Didn’t feel like much of a pilsner; too dark and too toasty. Not a bad beer per se, but not my favorite interpretation of the style. Can from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits.
3.7Can from Mikkeller Bottle shop.
Pours amber with a big white head.
Light hoppy aroma.
Nice balanced brew, malty with orange Marmelad.
2.8Can.
Clear, golfen white head
Aroma of honey grass citrus
Taste very bitter, slight sweet. Fresh geek of grapefruit
3.0can from online web order, clear golden pour with a white head. nose of crisp malts, grains, citrus, light hop bitterness, fresh grass. taste is refreshing, crisp mouthfeel, citrus hops. nice pilsner
3.5Pours a golden yellow with a white head. Aromas of bread/malts/hops. Crisp hop flavor with hints of fruit/malt.
3.5Can from Whole Foods-Lamar. Kind of fruity for a pilsener, very citrusy, grapefruit. Pours out a hazy golden with huge fluffy head. Nice cereal malts come out deep in the flavor, but the citrus kind of distracts from the fact that this is a pils. Good stuff.
3.5Can from Perfect Pour. Amber body with big head. Nose is hoppy, grassy. Some spices. Taste is malty, caramle up front. Then gets hoppier. Nice citrus in the finish.
2.7Clear gold pour fluffy head. Aroma grassy hops, grain. Tastes slightly grape, metallic grain. Sorta Astringent. Not digging the hop profile here. lingering bitter finish.
3.4Bottle from Beers of the World, Henrietta. C-hop, "pilsner", and raisin aroma. Big bitter hoppy taste, both American and European. Crisp lagery finish.
3.7Can. A slightly hazy amber pour with a thick and fluffy beige head. The pleasant aroma features an uncharacteristically high amount of freshly cut grass, zesty citrus rinds, tangy orange juice, and grapefruits in addition to the typical-for-the-style wheaty graininess. Thin to medium-bodied and crisp on the way down. The taste starts with a little caramel and a wheaty graininess. Doughy. Grassy. Zesty citrus rinds and some bitter grapefruits finish things off. Lemony. Kinda resiny/oily with some pine. A great beer, especially for the style.
3.2Can ->shaker at Mokomandy. Cloudy gold with small white head. Grass. yeast, paper, mild citrus hops. Eh.
3.312 oz can poured into a shaker pint at Mokomandy. Shared by DCLawyer, thanks! Clear straw golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of malt, citrus, light wheat, light skunk. Tastes of malt, citrus, light hay, wheat. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
2.4[ can ][ 1oz ][ @tasting ][ $ ? ][ snifter ][ 11.14.15 ]
translucent gold, thin white cap. Grassy nose, papery underattenuation peaks out from behind. Sharp hop front, biting paper, oily. More session IPA, thin oilyness with low effervescence.
3.6Can at the November DC Gathering. Poured a cloudy golden color with a small white head. Aroma was light lemon, yeast notes. Flavor was light sweet notes. Actually very refreshing and not a malt bomb like so many of these can be.
3.112oz can pours a clear gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has soap, passion fruit, yeast, lemon. Flavor is light with dough, lemon, soap. Creamy finish.
