4.3 Cloudy amber color with off-white head. Aroma of hops, fruit. Taste is medium bitter with long bitter finish. Well balanced IPA where all the components are on their place. Great beer.
3.3 Bottle, 6.9%. Mild citric hop aroma, some urine. Cloudy amber colour. Small unstable grey/white head. The flavour has a mild piney hop note. Caramelly. OK hop flavour, but the bitterness is a bit unpleasant. Probably from the coffee. All in all a decent beer even though I usually do not care much for coffee IPA.
3.8 Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with airy off-white head. Complex aroma of fruit, hops and citrus, with notes of coffee and needles. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of grass and citrus and touches of yeast and malt. Hints of coffee. Bitter aftertaste with citric hints. Well-balanced and decent.
3.7 Darl brown color, off-white head, short duration. Aroma is hoppy with notes of dry fruits and caramel. Flavor is slightly bittery with good maltiness, light orange peel. The final has a good presence of coffee with light bitterness.
3.8 On tap at Mikkeller bar Aarhus. Pours a dark, hazy amber with a yellowish, medium sized head. Aroma has nice, fruity coffee, prominent citra hops, light orangy sweet caramel malts and oats. Taste is more dry than expected from aroma, but still very juicy. Light coffee acidity and finishing off with a medium high hop/coffee-bitterness.
3.8 Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of hops/coffee/citrus. Strong hop flavors with malts and a peppery backend.
4.3 Bottle. Hazy amber color with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, citrus, yeast, bread and hops. Lots of bitterness. Soft carbonation. Dry bitter aftertaste. Very good.
3.0 Tap c4. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aroma of coffe, light citrus, light hops, caramel, a little stale. Taste is coffe, light stale hops, caramel. Flat carbonation and mild bitter finish.
3.1 Disappointing aroma, but such taste and flavour! Coffee IPA so an explosion of taste. Short after taste. Hop lingers.
3.9 Mild aroma, citrusy, slight coffee but barely there. Pours a beautiful amber colour, full bodied. An interesting one for flavour, quite hoppy, slight citrus at first with medium-high carbonation with a coffee aftertaste. I wouldn’t drink loads of them, but I do really like it! Glad I tried it
3.4 Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of coffee, citrus fruits, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee, malt, citrus fruits, hops, and a bit of caramel, leading to a bitter finish.
3.6 Bottled. Pours hazy amber with an average off-white head. Aroma of lime, z coffee and peachy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied oily texture and soft carbonatio. A very nice IPA. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
3.6 KØLF 161015. Dark golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is coffee, hop, citrus. Flavour is coffee, malt, hop, grapefruit, orange, citrus, caramel. Nice beer.
3.8 Čapované v Lokal Pube Nitra. Tmavšia pomarančovo hnedá farba, jemná pena, aróma kávy a chmeľu. Nižšia rezkosť, káva, byliny, horkosť. Dobrota.
3.8 On tap. Grey pale golden color, tan head. At first, I was like, why would somebody mix coffee and beer, but with every sip, I enjoyed it more. Aroma of espresso, pine, citrus fruit and caramel. Funky.
3.9 Drauhgt at "øl og brød". Golden brown with white head. Citra hops comes first with fresh frutty taste then pine and bitter tales over - proberly the Coffee, but not significant Coffee taste. The after lasting taste is bitter and pebery, tickling the tongue. Exciting Combo..
3.5 330 ml bottle from Gallagher’s Beer World/El Irlandés. Pours a cloudy, slightly dull, amber color with a small fizzy head that diminishes quickly, leaving a good lacing. Powerful, perfumey, rich aroma of Citra hops with lots of fruity expression. Notes of citrus rind, lemon zest, grapefruit, fresh limes, lemongrass and basil. Soft, restrained touches of coffee but mostly well integrated into the hop smell. The combination sometimes reminds of ripe red coffee cherries. Taste is bitter both, through hops and coffee usage. Prickly hops dominate in the beginning with fresh citrus flavors. There’s a brief moment in the middle of full integration between coffee and lemony touches, but it vanishes towards the end, which shows some strong coffee-ish character. Not brewed coffee flavor but more of raw mildly toasted grains. Good, though flavors shine independently and not with full integration. Medium body, low carbonation, alcohol well disguised. Aftertaste is more hoppy than something else. I like it, but it seems a little bit rushed, without refinement. A likeable coffee-IPA that could have been much better.
3.7 Cloudy orange with a foamy head. Aroma is quite orangey. Tastes like a normal IPA. I think I’ve been served the wrong one.
3.4 Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, some coffee, malt and caramel. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some herbs, floral notes and coffee. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.4 Bottle 33 cl. Golden, hazy with a minimal offwhite head. Hoppy and caramelized aroma. Light bittersweet taste with a soft fruits end.
3.8 Bottle. Copper color. Interesting aroma of pine and coffee beens. Taste has lots of espresso, dry pine, citrus and roasted coffee beens in the finish. Creative and tasty.
5.0 This is a fragrant coffee IPA from Mikkeller. Mikkel Bjergsø claims himself that it’s the world’s first IPA brewed with coffee, and it’s probably also true. I’ve certainly never met the combination before - but it’s definitely exciting. It is heavily foaming with a persistent foam. Both coffee and aroma hops smells beautiful and promise something really nice. The taste is hopped on a wonderfully comfortable way. Both lemon and floral notes there is room for, and then facilitate bitter coffee notes in the final. It’s certainly a different and very tasty IPA, but if you have hop horror you will surely not find it comfortable. I give it much like the top grade, not because of the perfection, but the combination Hops and coffee are innovative and are definitely two ingredients that are incredibly well together.
3.1 Bottle at Malt och Humle, Linköping, on September 12, 2015. Hazy orange to amber color, small white to off-white head. Mainly hoppy citrus scent, fruity, some cream, can’t say I find any coffee, perhaps a slight hint of acidity from coffee beans if thinking about it. Hoppy citrus, fruity, herbal, bitter, zest, pith, chili like, light acidic taste. No coffee coming through here either. Dry, bitter, pith aftertaste. A somewhat peppry bitterness tingling on the tongue. Medium mouthfeel, high dry bitterness.
3.6 330ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with small beige head. Aroma of medium coffee, citrus, herbs. Taste of mild hops, grassy, vanilla, coffee, good stuff!
3.3 Bottle 330ml (Firmabier) Murky amber, ruby color, small off-white head. Citra’s tropical fruityness dominates the aroma, only hints of coffee. Medium-bodied. Sweetish tropical fruity front, then citric bitterness, some resin even. Some coffee only in the aftertaste. Different than other Koppis I’ve had. More like a Citra single hop showcase than coffee IPA.
4.0 draught@Erzbierschof Zurich - hazy orange beer with a little foam left; nice lace; solid aroma of coffee beans in front of citrus and blood oranges; full-bodied, some astringency, assertive and very bitter; long dry citrusy and orange-ish finish with more solid coffee presence
3.8 33cl bottle. Hazy dark amber pour with minimal off-white head, no lacing. Aromas of toffee, fresh grass and mocha. Taste is bitter (duh), a bit sweet and nicely balanced. Low carbonation, somewhat oily palate. Aftertaste is long and dry, with snappy, citrus finish. Nice stuff, missed a bit of the coffee, though.
3.8 On tap at Bishops Arms in Örebro. Smell of coffee, citrus and hops. Similar taste. Strong bitterness. I’m not a coffee drinker so not the right person to judge this, can’t help thinking it would be better without the coffee though.
